Vern and his family went out of their way to accommodate us at the last minute. Our Airbnb canceled on us right before we were supposed to get there which was very late at night. When we booked with Vern he called to verify our stay and make sure everything was ok. We are a wildland firefighting crew and we had to move hotels every 2 days due to a lack of room availability with other fire crews in the area. We were so grateful that Vern not only took our reservation in the middle of the night but he even offered to let us extend our stay longer than the reservation if we needed it, which we did in the end. He was literally our savior in all this. The rooms and hospitality are beyond expectation. If you have the chance to stay here don't miss the opportunity!

Vernon was far beyond accommodating. He made sure he communicated every detail of our stay even prior to our arrival. On the day of our arrival he even waited for us outside the hotel and had a welcome signage made just for us. Also, since my friend was celebrating his birthday he had a wine and a cake prepared for him. The facility was more of an air bnb type than a hotel one which was good for us. We got everything in our place from kitchen utensils to washing machine and dryer.

We loved everything about this property! Staff was amazing and accommodated us for all our needs. It was very clean and plenty of space for extra guests. I love that we got a tour and gave us all the info for other things to do other than to ski!

We loved that the rental property was roomy enough for all 9 of us. It wasn’t too far from Taos so we didn’t have to do any cooking. Vernon was an exceptional host and very friendly. He was there to greet us as soon as we pulled on to the property. He did a walk through with us and showed us where everything was and how everything worked. I would definitely rent this location again! The location was peaceful with the most amazing views.

Although the property was very nice and comfortable with ALL of the necessary amenities (towels, extra linens, extra pillows, cleaning supplies, washer and dryer, bath soap, shampoo). It could’ve used some additional cleaning. Mirrors were smudged, it was a bit dusty, some walls needed cleaned and dishes weren’t as clean as I personally would’ve left them. Other than the few things I seen that needed extra attention, I rate our stay at a 9!

Best service of any place I’ve stayed. The manager went out of his way to make our stay pleasant. The location is beautiful and close to many surrounding attractions, but far enough away to have some peace and quiet. Great internet, great parking, great service, great little vacation!

We loved the location and the coziness of the suite. The outdoor fire pit and grill were great for family time.

Shady Brooke was a nice apartment located off the road between Angels camp and Taos. The place itself was cute and perfect for a couple wanting seclusion. The place was clean and the owners were really nice. Nothing to say bad here.

Unfortunately, the location of the place is a bit in the middle of nowhere. It sits off the road between Angel Fire and Taos proper. This means you will need to make 15 min drives to get food or supplies. There isn't a ton to do at the place, but if you want to just hang back and read or spend some time alone this is a good spot. I'd recommend a playground for kids.

The home was amazing and it had everything we needed. Vernon was a great host, so friendly and accommodating.

It was beautiful, close to town and every attraction we were looking for!

Truly a magical place not many of these left around nowadays it started snowing as soon as we got there everyone had a great time
