I loved Julie at reception. Was always there to answer questions, give suggestions, etc. I loved the access to morning coffee and tea. I loved the coziness of the bar

The first night I froze because I could not find any HVAC control and chilly air blew all night. The next day I learned I had to drag out an electric heater each night for warmth and I learned to find "a little black knob (which I hadn't known about earlier). It had been on "cool air" but was easily turned off when found. Not important but, my room had been skipped one day of cleaning although my "Clean My Room" sign was out all day. A continental or mini "snack breakfast" would have been nice.

Lovely room in a great location. We were able to park close so unloading/loading was easy. They let us stay parked after checkout so we could walk to the plaza and enjoy Taos. The historic aspects of the Inn provided great character. The staff was friendly and helpful. Check out by text was very convenient.

There was no microwave or refrigerator in the room. No ice machine; we had to ask the front desk clerk for ice. No breakfast other than the free coffee, which was good.

The hotel definitely has its rustic charm as a historic hotel. It has a strong Route 66 vibe, and the overall atmosphere reflects that. The check-in was straightforward and easy, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious, with comfortable beds, two luggage racks (always a welcome surprise), and good furniture. The bathroom was clean and all the appliances worked. The courtyards were lovely and provided a calm oasis from the bustle of the main drag out front.

The only downsides were it is an older hotel, so many of the furnishings had a dated quality, and there was a fair amount of dust. The most annoying thing, though, is if you're in a room far from the main hotel building, the Wifi is atrocious.

The rooms are very nice and comfortable. The bar was fun and the food was great. Melissa, our bartender, has a wonderful personality and made a wonderful margarita. Mac at check in was a pleasant surprise. So nice and friendly - what a wonderful person to have greeting your guests. Live music, Jeremiah was a wonderful addition to our evening.

Black out blinds on the windows.

I think that the Taos Inn is a place that gets under a visitor's skin. I am a repeat customer that expects certain things that make a stay here more like being at a private club. It's not the greatest hotel you will stay in, but it is, quintessentially Taos. You have to stay there and appreciate how easy and comfortable it is to be there. Evan though the kitchen and the bar are temporarily under renovation. I love being there.

The kitchen. But I understand the reasons.

Location the historic charm the feel of the courtyards the live music

Front desk staff was rude. Room did not have a chair or place to sit. When request for a chair was made the staff refused and said I could hand in my key and leave. This is outrageous behavior and unprofessional. Eventually a dining chair was provided but only one. We had to take turns sitting down. Never was an apology made. We have been staying here for 20 years and I must say this stay has been our last. Never again

Actually it was an unexpected stay. A snowstorm blocked two attempts to leave Taos and we did not know if we could find a place to stay. With one room left, we had a lovely place to sleep and eat.

The last room overlooked the lobby so we did have to wait for the music and bar guests to leave before it was quiet enough to sleep, but it was vastly better than sleeping in our car, which was a real possibility!

Location, classic New Mexico charm, and our room had a courtyard that was perfect for our 2 pups to relax in.

Restaurant and bar were closed for 2 of the 3 days we were there. A very minor inconvenience, because their are so many restaurants within a 5 minute walk. Really enjoyed the meal that we did have there.

Lovely historic hotel in the center of Taos. We really appreciated the attached restaurant, Doc Martins, which had a pretty patio which enabled us to dine and have our dog with us. Bed was really comfy, the shower water pressure was excellent and the inn is so charming! Last but not least, the staff was so friendly and helpful!

The hotel is old and quirky- full of charm. Our room was in the "courtyard" behind the main building. Our floor was not level. But the room was very spacious & comfortable. We had a real, wood burning fireplace! Dinner at Doc Martin's was excellent. Location in old town is perfect.

The reception desk is not always staffed. There is ample parking, but at first it is a little daunting to find.
