Driving through many small towns in the Finger Lakes area, it was such a bonus to actually stay in a stately home and see how grand they might have been in their heyday. This property was so quiet, so beautifully maintained, so welcoming. Owners were on site, friendly, interested and obviously committed to their work. Excellent communication, knew the village and area well to offer recommendations for dinner and leisure activities. Small touches made a lasting impression, hot and cold beverages available to enjoy inside or on the lovely porch, well appointed dining area for a very nice homemade breakfast and very lovely quality of cutlery and dishware. Perhaps not appreciated by all, but it made a difference to my experience that care was taken in the table settjng

This house is a real find. Could have easily found something cheaper like Holiday Inn but wanted a real taste of North America. The house has been expertly restored and furnished, it looks like it belongs in a period drama. I have been an antique furniture restorer, and I was taken in by the artifacts adorning the house. Some are genuine antiques most are reproductions, you cannot tell until you look at the labels. Breakfasts are to die for. As an English man breakfasts here was totally different from the UK. I could not have breakfast like here at home, not without putting on the pounds

There was nothing to dislike. We can all find fault, I'm sure if I put my mind to it I can find something. Not here, nothing to complain about. Just a word of warning, if you cannot manage a flight of stairs you need to make a decision about having a room up stairs, there is no lift

This stunning Bed and Breakfast is beautiful and full of old charm and character PLUS! The staff are extremely friendly, the amenities are top notch with every detail thought out making our stay so memorable. We LOVED it at The Gridley Inn and waking up to a stellar most delicious breakfast in the elegant dining room sharing conversation with the other guests and the owner/ chef was the very cherry on top of a perfect pampering escape away!

Breakfast was amazing each morning - not the standard eggs and bacon fare. They served quiche, French toast and Dutch baby during my stay - always with fresh fruit, juice and coffee. The location is perfect to reach hiking and wineries on 3 of the lakes. Close to some fabulous dinner spots as well.

While Waterloo is a quiet little town, we loved staying at this B&B. The staff was attentive and caring. Breakfast was phenomenal, freshly prepared each morning! No complaints and if I ever need to visit the area again, this will be my top choice!

Beautiful house, exceptional breakfast, very clean.

Beds are very comfortable but too sensitive to movement for a couple of light sleepers. Breakfast is exceptional but served at 8:45 sharp, so maybe not for people who would like to take their time in the morning.

Steph is very personable, but I would suggest a little less interface with customers after breakfast enabling more conversation with the other guests. Steph is lively and very conversational but should back off a bit. The owners have done a remarkable job maintaining this 1869 house.

The room was amazing, felt like royalty! Breakfast was best we have had while traveling.

The greeting upon ringing the doorbell was a little strange as we weren’t invited in. We assumed we were to just follow the person who turned around and walked away. Little off putting.

Madison is a certified culinary cook. Breakfast was culinary delight! Room was spacious and very stylish appointed. Would stay here again. Very nice. Parking around the back side of the building, drive around the block to the entrance. Uptown is a short 3 minute walk. Restaurants and shops.

Improvements continue to be made to some areas of the building. Not a big deal.

Fantastic hand-made breakfasts in the morning with no noticeable use of any pre-made or heavily processed ingredients. Owner clearly puts years of stated catering experience to work for guests every morning.

Not a downside for me, but will be for some; owner and family are a bit eccentric, which leads to some interesting conversation if you're open to it. May be off putting to those more reserved or otherwise disinclined to long AM conversations and friendly debate.
