Unscripted Durham

I loved the friendly staff, great location, and mad men decor. It was very colorful and lively. The bar by the rooftop pool was lots of fun with nice appetizers. Doug took care of us at the poolside bar and gave us recommendations on downtown spots. The place was immaculately clean and the bed super comfortable.

I was there for a week and there were no drawers to unpack into and not enough hangers for an entire week in the closet. Showers designed without closing doors so you will get some H2O on the bathroom floor. Minor issues though and if I was not there an entire week I would likely not have noticed.

With a very lively atmosphere into the eve and a beyond sanitary room involving a great view, my two day stay at Unscripted was remarkable. The staff members, with a friendly manor, are quick to help with anything asked. Overall, a beyond pleasant experience with this location and would recommend this place to any group or individual, especially those looking for easy parking and room access from car.

The shower in my king room did not have the ability to close it but the glass enclosure was sufficient for keeping water off the bathroom floor(likely modern style I don’t understand; looks very nice). The thermostat was difficult to dial in. Not sure if it was operator error but toward the end of the stay, I got it in check (certainly my own fault for not asking any questions).

Room and location was very, very good. The pool was excellent, refreshingly cool! Never saw anyone caring or testing water quality, but all appeared excellent. They allowed us to bring a guest, my son we were visiting, to the pool also.

Music was stuck on one genre and abit too loud. The DJ was non-responsive to my request to turn it down and motioned to another employee that was in 'charge'. Not allowed to bring outside drink or snacks, but they do have available drink and food, so very understandable!

The layout in the room was nice. The room was clean. The bedding was extremely comfortable. We stayed in one of the rooms with no windows, so the room was pitch dark (great for day sleeping or sleeping in). The food at The Patio was good. I had the Reuben sliders. The whole place was beautifully decorated. The front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly. Location is walking distance to DPAC.

The only complaints would be we could hear a cart rolling overhead while in our room, and we had to wait a while for a waitress at The Patio to even bring us a menu.

Excellent location - very easy to walk to many shops and restaurants. The decor and theming in the lobby and rooms were hip and fresh. The rooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were spacious. this was a great hotel for couples, people looking to have a late night at the pool bar, or just looking for fun.

The hotel itself is great and staff were so friendly, but it is not the type of hotel you want to go for if you are looking for a quiet relaxing night where you can get a good night of sleep. the DJ was playing music until 11 and all rooms face the pool (I think) where the DJ was blasting music. This isn’t a problem, per say, but we should have considered it before booking.

Loved the lobby and the fun evening vibe with live music. Loved the pool during the day. Staff were wonderful. Love the fact this hotel is pet friendly. Will definitely stay again.

Really not a lot we didn't like

Location is top notch! Pool was closed during my stay, which is a bummer as the patio seems like it would be a fantastic place to hangout. Breakfast was nonexistent, but it's close enough to plenty of breakfast locations.

There wasn't really a breakfast offered, and the pool was closed during my stay. There is a small eatery on the patio, which was closed as well. Couldn't find any ice machines either, staff was very friendly though!

I stayed in a King Size room with a city view. The view was great, the room was very clean, bed was super comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I also love the location... within walking distance of amazing restaurants, bars, live entertainment, and a great walking/running/biking trail. Unscripted is my favorite Durham hotel. Thank you for everything!

I did have a little trouble regulating the temperature in the room, not sure if it was the room or my lack of skill as to how to use the thermostat. I probably should have called down to the front desk, but, I did not take the time to do that, so, that was my fault. Otherwise, a fabulous stay as always.

We LOVED the experience at The Patio! The location itsself was also amazing - so walkable. We loved the aesthetic of the common areas and felt a great energy and vibe. Parking was also super convenient.

It felt like we paid for more luxury but there really werent any amenities. The morning coffee was less than average and it felt weird to not have little waters, snacks available more accessible. The staff at the Patio was also complete opposite of the staff at the hotel. Besides Sonny - he was awesome!
