Residence Inn by Marriott Portland Downtown/Pearl District

Very nice looking hotel. Food was great and bartender made a really nice drink. My room was such a nice size and great layout...plenty of storage and room to lounge about with my 2 kids, and the bed was quite comfortable. We loved that there was a pool. Great gym as well! Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful every time, including in the restaurant. Breakfast was great and we loved all the options. Can't beat the location either!

Room was dirty. My 3 year old found whip-it containers and broken glass under the couch. Got down on the floor to wipe up a spill and there was so much dirt under the bar stools. There was black mold under the lid of the toilet. Fridge was broken and when I noticed that all my food was warm I had to call maintenance. It was fixed but then started making a high pitched sound and we couldn't sleep so I just had to unplug it. REEEEEEALLLY wished there was a hot tub next to the pool because we got pretty chilly and couldn't stay in as long as we'd have liked ;)

breakfast included was hot and varied, omelet one day, scrambled next day, fried eggs the next. different kinds of sausage each day, then bacon! hot oatmeal and cold cereals with boiled eggs and yogurt available every day. Coffee served was labeled bold and they weren’t kidding! wish I knew the brand of coffee, I’ve become addicted to it. pet friendly and so nice to see other dog owners in the lobby, even gave pet bowl and treats and toys (although $100 non refundable fee expensive) room was clean bed was comfortable and quiet. full kitchen was nice, wish I had used it more but we ate out more than I expected husband found gym small but he was glad he used it and adequate for his needs. nice having laundry machines on the premises and front desk able to change my bills for rolls of quarters concierge gave a map of the city and a list of nearby places to eat which we found useful. i didn’t see hair ties available in the little store and front desk lady offered to give me one of hers. I didn’t want to take hers but appreciated that she actually offered. all the employees were so nice, from the breakfast people, the front desk, the valets, truly felt welcomed! will come back !

$49 valet parking but at least a public lot was a block away at $12 a night and street parking also available. room cleaning only if requested and was not clear about garbage pick up. saw other guests had left their garbage at elevator which was not nice to see.

An awful lot of room for the price I paid. I was amazed at the fact I was booked into a suite with a complete kitchen, living room, bedroom for the price I paid.

Parking was advertised at $50 for on site parking. Not knowledgeable about the area it seemed that was the only means of parking your car. Upon arrival that price is for their valet service. There is a public garage that cost only $12 to park overnight right across the street. Remove your valuables as it's a sketchy area. Note: this is the same garage that the hotel uses for their valet service.

The outdoor courtyard with seating and fire pits is BEAUTIFUL, spacious and so peaceful. Everything at hotel was immaculately clean and presentable. All staff we interacted with were wonderfully friendly and so helpful :) location is amazing as well, quick walk to Powells book store.

There's not a thing we did not enjoy during our stay, maybe other than a bit more fruit options to go on top of the yummy waffles at the breakfast buffet (minor).

Location, breakfast, staff customer service and friendliness

I thought I had booked a room with two beds but it turned out to be one bed and a sofa bed which was not at all comfortable and whilst bedding was supplied upon request, I was left to make up the bed myself. I and members of my family have stayed at the Marriot Residence hotel in the Pearl on several occasions for its convenience, price point, location and quality of rooms in the past. The sofa bed was the main disappointment so I will need to be aware of and more specific in expressing my needs next time.

Everything, especially the indoor pool. Staff was most helpful. Facility is kept very clean.

Breakfast. Bakery items mediocre. Even though the pool is small, one can do laps there. However, there are no markings and its easy to hit the wall. Rooms are cleaned once a week. I think it would be a good idea to at least have someone empty the trash cans every other day, and change sheets mid-week.

Overall it was a good place to stay will definitely be back

There was a few things that needed to be fixed in my room the toilet paper holder kept falling off the wall as well as the shampoo and conditioner holder and the shower was clogged took forever for the water build up to go down other then that the room and hotel was very relaxing

The staff was accommodating from the start and the facility was strict about wearing masks, which we appreciated. The front desk staff gave us the type of room we requested and the room was quite nice. Also, having an indoor pool is a big plus!

We stayed three nights and four days and there were multiple times we wanted an in hotel lunch and dinner cafe. Additionally, there was a huge patio space(serving little to no purpose) where we only saw a few couples drinking too much. There was place were the complimentary breakfast is served and where there is a small bar and a T.V., but no restaurant for lunch or dinner.

The pool was excellent for my Daughter. The breakfast wasn't as before obviously because of covid restrictions. So can't fault anyone. A pre arrival email of what to expect would of been appreciated. Some people wore masks others didn't. No one knew really what was going on. State says optional. But should of been mandatory to be considerate to those who feel vulnerable. But the staff as always were lovely and helpful. Bit pricey.

I walked in one of the mornings to just get a coffee and walked out of the building. When I asked why I was followed. The reply was I move too fast.

The room was exceptionally clean, and very nice. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. We loved our stay there. The breakfast was very good with lots of choices. The hotel was a great value and exceptional in every way.
