Location, good vibes, cafe that also serves good food on the premise, very clean, very welcoming. This was my third stay in the hostel and it’s my to-go place when in Portland.

Loved our stay. Welcoming, clean, quiet, no crazy guests, cheap parking for 3 days, everything we needed was there. Easy leafy neighborhood location just off the highway and once parked we walked everywhere. Best bagels I’ve had in ages, great coffee, tea, food, live music, walking tours, close to everything we wanted to see. Bathroom was shared but spotless, with lots of hot water, no lineups in our guest house. They deserve their place in the best of the best of hostels worldwide. Not your mamas noisy, drafty, messy hostel of decades ago.

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Good location, close to supermarkets and nine minutes walking from the tram stations. Great atmosphere. Wifi works well. Hostel was usually very clean. The restaurant/café inside the hostel is very good. Complimentary breakfast was simple but perfect. They even offer oat milk!

Mattress was uncomfortable, very soft and with a certain air mattress vibe. The bunk bed is super squeaky, I was on the top one and if you move your toe you wake the entire room. I had to do some laundry and the dryer doesn’t work - it somehow leaves your clothes wetter than before. They leave a small desk with a chair in the hallway of the dorms and some unfortunate person had the idea of using it twice in a row at five in the morning to make a video call for an hour. I believe he woke up the entire floor.

Free morning cup of coffee & bagel! Clean, super friendly staff, comfortable- it's not a situation where you race through the lobby because it's awkward and gross. Love the unique layout of the hostel, interconnected backyards. Common areas are well lit and easy to access at all hours of the day, quiet times are reasonable. Easy to talk to staff about stuff, they're helpful in general for Portland info and we love the intro tour when we checked in!! The buildings and hostel common areas felt private to guests and secure. Our room had a dresser and cabinet for personal storage and a cute little writing desk! Key card access was super easy to use.

This place has a little bit of quirky personality and is super charming all around, so it's difficult to say "I didn't like" any particular part. It's not the fanciest accomodation in terms of sparkley fixtures, sheik aesthetics, or brand new furniture, but the welcoming atmosphere and genuinely thoughtful organization of the hostel makes up for anything someone could find to complain about.

Great hostel/hotel in a complex of old, Portland houses. Fairly simply furnished, but everything one needs is there. The many outdoor spaces, snuggled between the houses are really nice and the cafe is good, too. Simple, but good breakfast is included and on the evening I arrived they had an "open mic" evening in the courtyard with local artists and anyone who wanted to contribute to the musical evening. The staff is super friendly and the location is great, too. Within walking distance of 23rd Ave. to the west with bars, restaurants, cafes and just across the freeway (easy to cross via street/bridge) from the Pearl District / Old Town.

This is one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, which is saying a lot since I stay in hostels nearly full time! The rooms were kept very clean, the beds are very comfortable, there are ample bathrooms in the hallway, and good sized lockers and many hooks to hang things in the room. The cafe on site is very useful and reasonably priced. The included breakfast of a bagel and a drink is great too! Every single member of the hostel and the cafe staff was so friendly! They really make a difference in the overall experience.

The only thing I can say against this amazing hostel is the laundry facilities are very lacking for a hostel of this size. Only one dryer and one washer are working properly and the timing of both makes it very difficult to do laundry. Unless you have a few hours to potentially dedicate to doing laundry, I recommend skipping doing your washing here.

We rented the queen room on the second floor facing the street. The view was delightful and the room was clean. The bed was soft and it had enough covers to keep us nice and warm. There were two bathrooms with showers on our floor as well as a bathroom without a shower all were regularly cleaned and towels restocked. The kitchen and dining areas were fully stocked with appliances to assist in cooking which we did multiple times. The area we needed to go to every day was just a few short blocks away so it was excellently located for our needs as well. The photo contains the view from the rooms window.

The room was quite chilly the first night, but we were given a space heater after asking at the desk. Sometimes the bathrooms or kitchen appliances were all busy which was a little frustrating but not unexpected as its the nature of a hostel.

This hostel is bright, clean, cute, with lots of info and helpful staff. I loved that they were able to allow me to check in earlier than anticipated when my bus into town arrived early - that exceeded my expectations. The walk there from where my Flix bus dropped me off was super easy and comfortable to get to. They were very accommodating as I travel now with a CPAP for my sleep apnea. The bed was comfy. Let me borrow a towel for free which was a nice perk. I enjoyed cooking and eating in the kitchen. The hostel is located in a pedestrian friendly location, easily accessible to bars, restaurants, public transportation and other points of interest. I mostly walked everywhere, which was fantastic. Breakfast included a bagel and a drink (that Everything bagel is AMAZING). I loved the patio in the rear. Overall, pretty good value for the price.

One of the men's shower pressure was quite disappointing. I understand they're conserving energy, which is great, but I didn't know that it would be that extreme. All in all, nothing horrific :)

I loved the private bathrooms and HOT water - the rug was nice - towel provided, free to borrow as well as the lock. The locker was plenty big enough for my carryon and backpack - could've fit a bit more even. The sheets were clean, everywhere was clean really and it was a nice area of town - reminded me of Greek row of a college. I liked the comforter provided and the pillows were decent, even almost nice - best I have had lately. It was quiet - the staff was super nice and it was great that they were understanding and accommodating about my request for a bottom bunk due to fear of heights. The breakfast was a nice tea and bagel with topping like PB&J and / or butter or cream cheese. It was plenty for me and a nice treat. I would happily stay here again.

My roommate could have been a bit more considerate but that has nothing to do with the hostel - everything they did and provide was GREAT.

People - staff and visitors. Dude shoutout to my friend Matt from Jersey (not new Jersey) — that’s how he introduced himself. The facility is new! Clean! And the people? Top tier customer service! And the cafe??? Chef’s kiss! The bafwoom is clean like cleaner than your conscience. I hope if someone from the hostel reads this - they would message me in instagram. I didn’t get to say goodbye due to my early check out. My ig is itsajc1! Plssss! I want to be friends you idiots. Sorry im aggressive. Im just passionate. K bye. Its a 100/10! Yes. That great!

If you read what I like - this question is irrelevant.
