Very Clean. Fun and comfortable decor. CLOSE to the Portland Street car. Coffee available all day. Quick and easy breakfast

Shower was not very hot. I like really hot and had the handle as far as it would go. No non-dairy breakfast options. No sitting table in family room despite having a kitchenette.

Staff was great, responsive and courteous. Breakfast was minimal but adequate, very clean area. Coffee machine ground coffee for each cup, fresh. Location was great, with about 15 small good restaurants, breweries, wine tasting rooms all within a 5 block radius. great neighborhood to walk around. Trolley into town stopped right in front of hotel. A hospital was a few blocks away, stores, church all nearby. Room was larger than expected with small kitchen was a pleasant surprise.

All was better than expected, didn't dislike anything

The hotel room is a spacious studio apartment with charming Jetsons-style furnishing, great, fully-equipped kitchen and comfortable bed. Breakfast had a lot of choices: yogurt, hard-boiled eggs, cheese, cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, breads, great coffee.

The building is several decades old and the floors creak, both the hallways and the ceiling above. Also, even though my room was located facing the rear parking lot, the trolley car which runs on the street can be heard and felt as a slight rumble through the night. I recommend you ask for a room that is rear-facing, on the top floor and bring a noise generator (I always travel with my "ocean box"). Then your stay will be perfect!

What a great place to stay! A mini suite essentially in quintessential Portland quirky colorful style. Every single staff member was incredibly friendly and warm (genuinely). The rooms have everything you could need. Kitchen area has stove, all kitchen utensils and appliances, endless coffee and tea, mugs, hot cocoa. Bathrooms have makeup remover and a makeup towel!, Shampoo and conditioner, lotion, bar soaps, hair dryer, and a good amount of towels. Sofa turns into bed, plenty of space, and the bed is comfortable. Breakfast is available daily and often free vouchers for additional nearby services. The neighborhood is a cute safe gem with plenty to do. The streetcar station is just out front and a free pass daily for staying. I will absolutely stay here again. I highly recommend it.

Can hear other guests above you walking and in other rooms or the hall at times. Although breakfast is free, it's often crowded and long to wait.

The colors were up lifting and had a fun retro feel to the place. The staff were helpful and friendly and local restaurants list was provided and street car tickets were provided daily. The beds were firm and yet comfortable. They kept out fresh fruit from breakfast all day. They also had excellent fresh ground coffee and salt water taffy, which was setting in large glass bowls for guest to enjoy.

The breakfast became monotonous as it was the same every morning. The only hot it’s were toast/bagel or oatmeal, which you made yourself.

The staff was excellent, so kind and helpful. Our stay included daily streetcar tickets (2.5 hr pass), free parking and free continental breakfast. The breakfast was amazing, lots of Tilamook yogurts, bagels, fruit, and a nice spread of accoutrements. The room is essentially a studio apartment so it’s got a kitchen, balcony, living space. It’s spacious and comfortable!

The area was central-ish but it seemed to not be in the safest area. The staff did mention they regularly patrol the parking lot so it seemed like they were taking appropriate measures. The sink in our bathroom didn’t drain well so that was unfortunate. There are vending machines on each of the 3 floors but they were sparsely stocked and we tried several times to get specific sodas and got a lot of out of stock messages.

This is one my new favorite hotels. It's a competitively priced place where the hotel room was about as big as my apartment, with a full stove, dishwasher, and living room area. I especially loved the staff and the culture. Sometimes I've stayed at expensive places where the staff treat you like a misbehaving child when you ask for anything. At Northrup they gave me extra sheets, street car tickets, and didn't mind that I held a few meetings in my living room. Not a lot of places have customer service this good. I'll be staying here every time I'm in Portland.

we liked the location because it’s situated in a quiet neighborhood but had walking and trolly access to all the places we wanted to go. fantastic restaurants and bars close by.

little noisy from other rooms at times … but tolerable. another guest cooked what smelled like fish…. and entire hotel smelled like it . really should have some ventilation if going to have a full kitchen in room. Beds were comfortable, breakfast was perfect. Coffee in lobby was amazing.

We stayed here 13 years ago and it continues to be an exceptional place to stay. Portland has suffered a downside in recent years but this hotel is in a safe and pleasant neighbourhood. The hotel has apartment like suites and the decor is amazing Additional services include on tap coffee in reception, free tickets daily for the tram and a very good continental breakfast. The rooms have full kitchens

Absolutely nothing

Out stay was delightful! The decor was so fun, very mod/50s/60s and lots of bright colors. They served breakfast for people which was tasty. Coffee machine was fancy and tasted pretty good. Keurig in the room was great. We had a room with full kitchen which felt luxurious, plenty of space. Very clean! The staff were unendingly kind and friendly. Bed had tons of fluffy pillows!

The only drawback for me was the firmness of the bed, usually I sleep on memory foam so it was too firm for me. That’s the only thing!
