Silver Surf Motel

The location is great and the view is wonderful. You can watch the waves from your room or from your private deck. The grounds are nice and we were able to walk down to the beach from the grounds. The beds were comfortable and there was a table with 2 chairs. The refrigerator was a good size and the stove worked well. We prepared most of our meals. The TV worked well. You can park outside the door to your room. Entry is by code, no keys to worry about.

The kitchen has very basics only, but we managed to prepare meals. There is minimal counter space. There are straight back chairs, but no ‘easy chairs.’ We could hear the people talking and moving beside and above our rooms.

The room i had was on the upper level with a balcony. Great ocean view!!! Originally I was only going to spend one night, but I decided to stay another night. Beatiful area to explore. I will come back in the off season when it's less crowded. Near impossible to find parking at various sites....e.g. Bob's beach. Of course it was mid July so I wasn't surprised. The main focus of my trip was actually the redwoods down in California. I was on my way home when I stopped here.

Well, a Keurig coffee maker would be great. However, I brought mine so it's not an issue with me. I think Keurigs should be standard now given that they are less messy than regular coffee pots.

This is a retro motel without pretending to be a retro motel. It’s true to itself. The staff is perfect. It’s a great place to bring kids and to stop on the road up the Oregon coast. There’s a little town only a few minutes away with plenty of amenities and a grocery store that has everything you need. We could’ve easily stayed a week or more.

The price is a little high but that’s because it is on the Oregon coast and one of the few beachfront properties. It could’ve been worse though if they had spas and restaurants, etc. It’s a perfect place to stay if you want to be on the beach and not spend a ton of money but still, it was a little expensive.

The owners are doing a fine job updating the rooms. The location is excellent.

The room needed a good deep cleaning. We had to clean the stove top as the grease was caked around each burner and popcorn kernels were under two of the burners. We also swept a dust pan full of debris from under the bed and off the carpet and floor in front of the sliding door. The sliding door floor tails were black with dirt. We had to the office to get items that should have been stocked by the housekeeper. Everyone was very nice about it. Also be aware that the walls are thin and you can hear conversation in the rooms next to yours.

The beach access alone was worth it! Room has a balcony with a huge view of the ocean, and you have super close beach access with some really cool areas to explore. Loved the location SO MUCH! The staff was also very nice and helpful.

I pulled a wine glass out of the cupboard and found lipstick stains (I washed it for the next person). Kind of wish the rooms didn’t have carpet since I know it’s a dog friendly place. Bed was not the most comfortable but it was fine.

The views were amazing and it had ALL the amenities we were looking for. Beach access was perfect as well. Loved the privacy and cable TV was very reliable.

The bed had a dip in the middle which made it hard to get comfortable. The WiFi was very spotty, it kept drifting in and out. But we wanted to unplug and really rest, which the lack of reliable WiFi let us do. The manager said it was likely due to the location of our little cabin, which was at the absolute range of the two SSID's that were broadcasting. Also, we have Verizon and were only able to send text messages. Cell tower coverage is always spotty in Yachats, so were weren't completely surporised. We couldn't make or receive phone calls at this property. But again, that can be good for unplugging from the daily grind! Just something to consider before booking.

The location is outstanding, set back far enough from the road to eliminate road noise, and great views of the ocean from a private balcony, with easy short walking distance to a great beach! Also, a full kitchen (fridge, stove, oven, microwave, etc.), complete with dishes, utensils, pots, & pans -- we loved cooking meals and eating with the great view of the ocean from our room. And the little touches -- lovely plush colored towels rather than the usual thin institutional white like many places, soft brushed cotton sheets, and an electric fireplace for year-round comfort!

This was the best little motel we have stayed in with great location, views and comfy bed. We have moved away from staying in hotels/motels and stay in AirBnBs, but thought we would give this a try. Glad we did and we will be back!

The walls are thin, but it is an old motel, so we expected that. A bigger TV with just 1 remote instead of 2 or 3 would be ideal. The dehumidifier was rather loud, but we just turned if off to sleep. Overall - really no cons, unless you are looking for high-end luxury.

Good location and great view of the ocean from the room and the private balcony. There’s a kitchenette, Wi-Fi and an electric fireplace. There is a TV, a table and chairs. the beds were comfortable. staff is friendly. there is a private entrance.

The TV doesn’t have a channel guide. There are no easy chairs; you can sit in a straight back chair or lie on the bed. There is beach access but not in wet months. The Wi-Fi wasn’t great.

This property is in a great location close to restaurants and with an ocean view. The room has a small deck/balcony. The beds are comfortable and there is a kitchenette, so we could eat some meals in the room. There’s an electric fireplace, TV and free WiFi. There is a wonderful beach and grounds for walking. There’s parking just outside the doors. We like it and are repeat guests.

Access to the wonderful beach is a bit challenging. The last ‘stair’ is quite steep. My grandson had to help me down. Getting back up was more of a challenge. We walked up a path farther down the beach. It may have been a private road. It would be great to know if there is beach access nearby. There are 2 straight back chairs. An easy chair or 2 would be a nice addition. The only mirror is in the bathroom. There are hangers for clothes but no dresser.
