Sonesta Select Newport Middletown

Great value and location for visiting Newport area attractions. Very quiet location. Room was spacious and well-designed. Decor and furnishings were both attractive and comfortable. Easy to drive to. I would stay here again.

Not many dining options within walking distance of hotel. Was very disappointed that the only breakfast included with room or available at hotel was limited cold options (i.e. cold cereal and pre-packaged muffins). Front desk staff were hard to locate when needed.

What I didn't like was that Booking.com offered an upgrade for $4 extra per night which would have given me a 2 Queen Bed upgrade with courtyard view. After mentioning this to the receptionist at the hotel I was advised that those rooms didn't exist. So.... I don't know why Booking.com $8 would charge me the extra money. I will be hesitant to book w/booking.com again. My stay otherwise was a great experience at no fault to the hotel.

N/A for the breakfast the room was smaller than I thought it would be but efficient. The staff was outstanding, going above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. Patty had a room available for an early check in which was greatly appreciated. Jackie made sure we had everything we needed, linens, toiletries, and information regarding beaches and attractions. Cindy made check out a breeze. Maintenance staff were always smiling. The staff all seemed genuine. The customer service was great.

I had to clean the sliding glass door to be able to see the most beautiful hydrangeas outside the room. We were told at nighttime that Travis would come and light the Fire 🔥 pit but he never showed up and that was a disappointment. At the time of our stay there was a group of over 35 teen girls who would come in the pool and jacuzzi at the same time. They were very loud and their “counselors would show up well after they had been there unsupervised, not following the rules of needing an adult. This happened twice during our stay.

Room and common areas nice and clean. The staff including house keeping were very pleasant. Check in and out was fast

I did not like having to pay $2.25 for a small cup of coffee that was gross tasting. I didn't use the little coffee maker in the room as I don't like powdered cream. I have stayed in many hotels that offer their guests complimentary coffee. I wouldn't have minded paying for it if it was good coffee which it certainly wasn't. We didn't like the location of our room as it took forever getting to it. The elevator was far away so we just went up and down the two flights of stairs.

Love the location and its proximity to downtown Newport, to North Kingstown and Wickford Town Beach, to Jamestown and access to all the shops and restaurants nearby on Rte 114 . Liked the generous size of the suite and its layout ,and also the view of the pool and courtyard from Room 304 . My family has named this room the " Pitts- Wiley " Suite because it's both comfortable and accomodating and close enough to the elevator. We plan to return.

Didn't like that the furnishing was dusty ( i.e desks, lamps, cabinets, counter, dressers, lamps etc. )

I am satisfied with it overall. The room is clean. I brought my dog with me and I was arranged on the first floor where I could take him to do his business directly my from the balcony out. The pool is clean but too small.

The service of the hotel needs to improve as I left a message after I booked the room and didn't receive reply, and I thought I didn't bring my adapter to charge my phone and asked for borrowing one and they didn't have it. The pool was too crowed in the afternoon. There is no microwave in the room

The staff was very attentive and helpful. The pool and hot tub were enjoyable for the whole family, and the suite was spacious with a comfortable bed. The hotel was a great location to have a more affordable price with just a short drive to downtown Newport. It took less than 10 minutes to get pretty much anywhere we wanted to go.

The staff and the over all was amazing. The pool and hot tub were clean and warm. The hot tub didn’t have working jets but it was still a nice moment to unwind in. The number one for me was how fur butt friendly the place/staff was!

No breakfast for free like we thought. They sold $10 breakfast boxes that looked like my elementary school snack box. The coffee was sad and weak. I’m only putting this here for honesty’s sake. These were not deal breakers by any means. I only thought of them because of this question.

It was a real pleasure staying here. I got in late & front desk staff was extremely pleasant/helpful. The hotel feels like a five-star hotel. It’s just beautiful- extremely clean and very comfortable beds. Nice quiet neighborhood - I felt very safe. I would definitely stay here again.

Nothing to complain about

Jenniffer (Two Ns, two Fs) was excellent and gave comprehensive information and recommendations. The room was very clean, comfortable, and quiet, and the mattress was quite comfortable.

Poor TV with frequent loss of signal, and the remote was dysfunctional and worst I have ever used. Easy and inexpensive upgrade would avoid guest frustration and result in a higher review.
