Howard & Johnson at Wyndham is a typical mid-range motel, without any unpleasant surprises. Something a bit surprising for us was that it pretty big compared to the impression that you have from the ´smaller, cozier facade´. However we had a room far from the route next to motel and slept really well. Location next to Newport is great.

Check in correct, but without any extra smile. Make sure that your room is distant from the route next to the check in building.

Convenient location, very short drive from downtown Newport. An Applebees is connected to the hotel so you don’t have to go far for dinner. The lobby and my room were beautiful and extremely clean. There is a balcony or patio off each room, which I have never had at a hotel before. The pool area looked very inviting, though I didn’t have time to try it out. Staff I encountered were friendly and helpful.

Nothing bad to say at all. 10/10.

Front desk didn't understand my needs (not too bad). I added an additional day from my scheduled vacation & thought of Howard johnson. I was previously there on numerous occasions. I asked for an early room if available & never got a call back. I even paid up front (1145am). When I did return she just smiled as if nothing. There were no cars in lot.

Fabulous job of cleaning and in Covid precautions. Their labels on the breakfast tables were ingenious to assure we were using clean tables. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even though it was Folk Festival weekend with the usual hubbub/

The handicapped room was very good, but it was below grade level, necessitating a small not evident elevator or family assistance. Inevitably the rate nearly doubled for Folk Festival weekend and that is going to be a problem in the future.

Everything!!! A plus. All staff very friendly and professional Breakfast included every morning with old friends/, staff. Outstanding owner and front desk team!!! I would say again and recommend to friends. Kind and smiling ,😌🙏🏻💯 KF. Long term guest. ,

nothing, but would be nice to have extra bathing products when there are more than one person in a room. with the 4 of us there was barely enough for two of us due to the small sizes of the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. but I did request extra towels and items and they had it brought within 10 minutes so thank you!

The staff was very friendly, breakfast was great for a free included and quality as you’d expect, the pool area was beautiful although it was being repainted during our stay. The Ben & Jerry’s vending machine was a nice treat. Applebee’s being attached was also very convenient. The lobby was very beautiful. Comfortable beds.

We found a cellphone in the nightstand drawer, which made me question the efficiency of the housekeepers. There was a hair tie under the bed and you could see the furniture wasn’t vacuumed under in quite some time. Hair in the bathroom. We did not leave housekeeping a tip for these reasons.

The room was quiet and clean and the bed was comfortable. I was provided with plenty of towels and there was a thermostat on the wall that remotely controlled the air conditioner and I was able to set the room temperature to the degree. There was also free breakfast and plenty of parking.

The pillows were too soft and uncomfortable (I needed to use three to sleep on) and there wasn't any light by the entryway and closet (it was dark and difficult to see).

Staff was super nice and incredibly helpful throughout the facilty (check in, breakfast area and all front desk staff). My son also had an accident and we needed new sheets late one night. Beth at the front desk was very helpful and assisted right away. Anthony came over within 10 min with new sheets. The room was super clean, nice indoor pool and a nice contential breakfast. Water and coffee/tea were plentiful in the lobby. Location of the hotel is perfect for going into / around Newport.
