Hampton Inn & Suites Providence Downtown

Staff were friendly and accommodating. Instead of choosing valet parking we parked around the corner via the valet's suggestion at a lot which was more convenient for us. After we checked out but before picking up our car for the day we were allowed to use the locked lobby restroom. (Thanks guys!! Much appreciated!) The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was convenient and satisfactory. As we mostly walked around the city we found that the hotel's location was fantastic.

Our room had a view of the parking structure next door. Not a problem - just not pleasant.

An excellent stay. THe hotel was within a comfortable walking distance from the Amtrak station where my hiusband and I arrived from Boston. Check-in was fine, room excellent - spacious and well set out. The king bed was super comfortable. Where can I order one of those??! We very much appreciated and enjoyed the breakfast provided. There were hot and cold offerings, cereals, juices, fruit - whole and in a salad, breads/bagels, cakes etc.

Slow communication. I had a query after check-out, regarding our account, which was US$12 over what was the room was booked for. Maybe there is a legitimate reason, but none has been forthcoming despite my 2 messages to the hotel. This has marred what was otherwise a great stay. Also, a mini fridge

My husband and I took a trip to downtown providence for 3 nights and 4 days. We love that is is a stones throw away from tons of attractions. Staff very friendly and accommodating, we ended up staying and extra night last minute and there was zero issues. Check in and out took under a minute. Valet parking very convenient! Clean rooms, good view of the streets around you. Also the complimentary breakfast was so convenient and a lot to choose from. We would definitely stay here again and again! Thank you Hampton Inn and Suites downtown Providence!

historic building, great location, exceptional staff. about $6-10 Uber ride to convention center. hotel has shuttle to/from pvd airport. tons of local restaurants. basic rooms but clean and well stocked. coffee always available downstairs. did I mention exceptional staff?

historical building and location on narrow street also means street noise reverberates up the building. Rooms had white noise machines and that helped a lot.

Able to check in to room just after lunch so could spend the afternoon exploring the city. Good room with all necessary facilities. Great location just across the river from Brown University and Benefit Street. We had a fantastic meal at Hemenways Restaurant which was about 5 minutes walk away across the river. Hot water and coffee available in reception. Check out was 11am so we were able to go to the State House before we left.

Only valet parking available at $30 per night but the surface car park next to the hotel only charged $22 - not a big deal but…..Basic breakfast and a bit chaotic.

The room was a surprise: large and spacious, bordering on too big. The service staff was very kind and easy to talk to. The breakfast was ample, though missing an option here or there. The parking was right next door(I used the private lot because my vehicle was too large). The location downtown was nice.

I don't have much negative to say about the hotel, it was a great experience. Perhaps simply that the receiving area where the car valet is: the area is a little congested because it could be organized a little better.

We really enjoyed our stay in Providence, the staff at the hotel were SO lovely, really friendly & accommodating, some of the nicest we met during our travels. The room worked well for our family (2 adults, 2 kids) and the location was excellent. The parking was easy as well and there was the option got valet parking for $30/day or $23/day for self parking in the same car park. Nice that breakfast was included and there was plenty of choice to suit all of us.

Everything was great, we had no issues!

Very nice staff, delicious breakfast, and best of all a free shuttle that took us to and from dinner during the once in a generation polar vortex event

Partiers in the hotel set off smoke alarm which required evacuation down staircase through thick pot smoke to first floor. It was too dangerous to go outside due to extreme cold so we waited in lobby. Good news is Providence fire fighters came quickly and got us all safely back to bed.

Great location. Very clean. They were very accommodating when I couldn't sleep and called down at almost 11pm for more pillows. Someone brought them up immediately to my room. Never had to wait for the elevator. It's fast!

No regular waffle mix, and it was 30 min before they closed at 10. But it was complimentary so it was not a crisis but there just wasn't many options.

Great central location, friendly staff (both front desk and car valet), clean room and very quiet. Loved the historical beauty of the lobby. Easy stroll to the riverfront and RISD and Brown, staff were extremely accommodating with directions. Additionally, the car valet anticipating needing our car ready after our campus tour and the extra step of someone calling up to our room to let us know the fire-water exhibit was closed for the season went on-and-beyond expectation and was greatly appreciated. Really great service!

Pillows were a little too lofty for my neck (discovered next day there was an extra in closet which may have worked better)
