The location was great - less than a mile from the downtown/river/Brown University. There are all kinds of good places to eat nearby. What we liked most was the fact that a feminist women's art project had rescued a great old abandonded victorian home and made it into an artists' residence project, AND a BnB. During the winter months, artists (at leat 50 so far) live/work in the building, including working on the BnB rooms; during the summer the rooms are rented to folks like us, who appreciate grand old buildings, to help pay for the winter artists' residencies. The women secured grants and loans to rennovate the building and continue to work there. We, as guests, get to enjoy the building and the area and help support a fine group of artists.
We liked it all. There might be a few folks that would not like the absence of TV's but that was fine with us in this context.

The space is truly gorgeous and the renovations keep the historic bones while also adding an updated charm with the furnishings, beautiful wallpaper, and lovely patio. Breakfast served was simple but great, I personally liked to take it on the patio when the weather permitted! The room I stayed in was comfortable and larger than I expected and it was so fun to wander the house. I walked everywhere (I traveled from NYC so this wasn't as daunting as to many others) and most things of interest are within a 35 min walk (or a 15 min electric scooter ride). Pippi was helpful and informative and the 'Ruffles, Repair, and Ritual' book about the renovations of the house is a great read! I can't wait to come back!

Quirky character - truly unique property! Good breakfast (with a choice to eat outside on patio). Comfortable beds. Light and airy room. Parking. Family suite (adjoining rooms).
No curtains or blinds (our party was divided on this - privacy wasn’t particularly an issue as we were two floors up however the early morning sunshine did come flooding in the window). No warning that we’d need to haul our heavy cases up two flights of stairs (not particularly an issue for our group however could be an issue for others). Relatively expensive.

The house is a cool restoration project. the house is beautifully and has been lovingly restored with the touches of local female artists. The handmade wallpaper in one part of our room mirrored the stain glass window that sat beyond it. the staircase is super cool. There were snacks, coffee and tea constantly available. A satisfying light breakfast was served. The weekend special item was a vegan Irish soda bread, yummy!
sorry, but the ballet clown photos in the 2nd floor hall were something.

The breakfast service was incredible! Pippi was extremely welcoming, and the interior design was really beautiful. We loved that local artists were involved in the decor.
It wasn’t a problem for us at all because we brought our own devices, but it might be helpful to know that there isn’t a television in the room. While there isn’t a microwave in the room either, there’s both a microwave and fridge on the ground floor, with plenty of utensils and dishes. These were perfect for us, and we felt very at home.

We love the place, the location and the breakfast. It is a historical house that has been tastefully decorated. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature of the room was good with hot water. The staff is courteous and very responsive. We got back late and couldn’t find the code to get in and they responded immediately. Breakfast is good. There is a great variety of options. It is within walking distance to great restaurants and bars. We would definitely stay here again.
Windows have shades to cover only half, so sunlight comes in.

Really cozy and funky stay here. Staff is very friendly, and the rooms are fun and quirky. I did expect the breakfast to be a bit better, I ended up not even getting any because it was essentially just a hard boiled egg, apple, yogurt. But the location is great and it's walkable to cafes and restaurants. I'm curious what the other rooms look like, mine personally felt like a mini apartment. All in all a great stay and I would definitely book here again.

The building was an older renovated house. There were many photos hanging up showing the condition of the home before the renovation which we enjoyed looking at. They also had books about the house's renovation and about the original owners of the house which were very interesting. We enjoy staying in a house that has history. Our hostess Poppi was very nice and helpful as well.

gorgeous, spacious, and comfortable rooms. bathroom was incredible, and well stocked with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. there were many restaurants, cafes, bars, convenience stores within a fifteen minute walk of the property, parking was easy, and checking in and out was easy. the staff was incredible and friendly, snacks were available in the common room, as well as coffee in the morning.
the room was very hot for our stay.

Central location to most areas around Providence. The house was very interesting and welcoming. The staff were all very pleasant. They had snacks for everyone.
There is no elevator so be prepared to climb stairs, especially if you’re staying on the third floor. The house doesn’t have central AC so the non-bedroom areas could be stuffy and hot when it’s warmer out.
