DoubleTree Hotel & Suites Charleston Airport

it was clean, the lobby was beautiful and welcoming, and the room were clean.

the advertisement on booking said that breakfast was included. we selected the property specifically because it mentioned breakfast included. with small children this would’ve been helpful. however, when we got there one of the workers said breakfast was not included. I emailed the property via the booking app and I didn’t hear back at all.

The rooms were beautiful and majority of the staff were very polite. The blonde bartender with the glasses was incredibly sweet and a delight to speak with when grabbing drinks after spending a day shopping. Also, I appreciate the lady heating up the double tree cookies to make sure we had them warm when we checked in!

We had someone come by our room 3 times (before the listed check out time) asking if we were planning to check out. The day before we checked out, we came back to our rooms to find that our key cards had been deactivated. When we went to the front we discovered this was due to them not asking for a card when I had originally checked in (they needed one on file in case of damages, etc). My partner went to the front to give him his card and stated that he had never been treated so rudely by a front desk person. He’s a pilot and a diamond member and travels quite a bit, so this was a bit alarming for me.

Quiet and easy access to areas visiting.

Morning host at coffee and Breakfast Station appears unhappy and her general disposition is sour. Maybe another spot would suit her better.

The breakfast was very. Good. The choices were basic but it allowed the kitchen to be very fast. Our bedroom was very large and the bed was very comfortable with great pillows. The room overlooked the highway but was not too noisy. We heard no sound from neighbor rooms. We’ve stayed in crappy rooms that were twice the price in downtown Charleston. We had to pay 3x to have a nice room downtown. We’ve been coming often and don’t always want to spend a lot. North Charleston is a good value and a 20 min easy drive to downtown. I know it’s silly but I also love the free Doubletree cookies.

We had a one bedroom suite and the living room was a good size but very dark. Two small lamps and a can light by the door. There was no natural light. The room was fairly clean except for some leftover takeout and a full trash can left hiding in a cabinet. We tried to walk to a nearby coffee shop but decided it was too dangerous - no sidewalks and heavy traffic streets. We ordered a coffee at the bar instead… it was fine. The bathroom had a barn door instead of a proper door so privacy was lacking.

This hotel is amazing! Super clean, friendly staff, and tons of amenities. It was very affordable. Check out isn’t until 12pm. They have a lovely pool with little cabanas, a gym, two spacious lobby areas, a putting green, a Starbucks, bar and snack shop! They give you warm fresh chocolate chip cookies and waters at check in! There’s a nice outdoor sitting area that has a fire pit always going at night. It’s only 10 minutes away from the airport and 20 minutes from the downtown Charleston area, as well as 35 minutes to Folly beach. It’s the perfect location! Tons of restaurants near by. The beds are comfortable, It was quiet at night and I slept great.

Nothing, 10/10!

The location was great. Food at their restaurant was expensive. $14 for 6 wings!!! But there are PLENTYYYYYY of food options less than 2 mins down the road. The mall is nearby with several restaurants near too. Room was clean and cozy. Pool was nice and the front desk staff was sooo sweet! They were AMAZING and accommodating. Will stay again!❤️

The property is beautiful, and conveniently located near all the major attractions.

There were issues with my reservation, as changes were made prior to my arrival. Marissa was excellent in resolving this for me, however, there was a staff member at the front desk (forgot to get her name) that was rude and could care less if our issue was resolved.

Booking.com reservations included the American breakfast option, but the hotel does not have a restaurant nor provides breakfast per se. There is an onsite Starbucks that provided, as a courtesy, free breakfast to us from their menu each morning. We stayed in a suite and although the primary bed was very comfortable, the pull out was very thin and uncomfortable. We reserved the room for 4 people, but the suite only had towels and linen for 2 people. We were asked to go downstairs to get additional towels and sheets from the front desk.

staff was very friendly and helpful

shuttle info from the airport was not very clear. we were looking for a Doubletree labeled shuttle and ignored the Homewood Suites shuttle which was more clearly labeled. 4 calls and 1 1/2 hours at the airport someone mentioned a share with the attached Homewood Suites.

The only problem I experienced was the room I had booked had viewed given keys to the room after check in me and my husband went out on the town return back to learn that they had given our room to someone else but it was handled with profession I was assigned another room
