We liked the private little patio, pool & hot tub, the large size of our room, close to downtown for walking, excellent breakfast. It was very nice to have an early breakfast at 4:30 am so we could leave early for the Buffalo Roundup!

The toilet area was pretty small, but still worked out fine!

Every single staff member that we encountered during our 4 day stay were so nice! That is pretty rare for us. They all greeted us with a smile or asked how we are doing. They made small talk and gave recommendations on places we were looking for. The breakfast had a good variety. The rooms were clean and comfortable!

The hot water takes awhile to get hot. Once it does, it works well! I had to run the water a long time. I didn't know that and called maintenance (who came up super quick) and of course the water finally started running hot.

We love this place we visit the black hills every year for our anniversary and we always go to this best western and love it!!

We would prefer ham or bacon in the am instead of sausage since there already is sausage gravy with the biscuits. We also stayed in Wall Drug for a night at the best western and they had a pancake maker maybe that or waffle maker. Just a little variety with the breakfast.

Breakfast was decent, biscuits were great! I had 2. I’m a bit of a coffee snob and haven’t had a solid cup of coffee in SD yet. So I didn’t care for the coffee. However, I would definitely stay here again. Remi, who checked us in was awesome! We went to “Chute Rooster” for supper and it was amazing, it’s a short walk from the hotel.

No towels at the pool so I had to grab one from my room. Not the end of the world. The pool could have been cleaner. I loved the hot tub.

Excellent location for exploring the Black Hills and Custer State Park. Room was large, clean and comfortable, with fridge and microwave which was very handy. Grocery store next door. Short walk into Hill City for restaurants/bars. Plenty of parking. Breakfast selection good with hot buffet. Outdoor pool available (although we didn't get time to use ourselves).

Breakfast all disposable paper plates and plastic cutlery - feels so wasteful but also seems common in USA - can the hotel invest in some proper re-usable/washable crockery and tableware for environmental purposes??

A solid 3 star hotel. The location is great for the surrounding attractions. Parking is adequate, easily accessible and well lit at night. As for the room, it was clean and ready. Breakfast is the free standard continental. Egg, sausage, potatoes, toast and cereals. Everything as expected but it was a Sunday. Everything looked and tasted good. The coffee was hot and pretty good. If not for the mattresses we may give it another chance when in the area again.

The first issue was the A and B buildings are not accessible internally from the foyer after checking in. It was pouring rain and we had to walk through it with our luggage. I didn't mind since it’s just rain and my luggage is waterproof. The rest of my group was unhappy for getting wet. The mattresses were in major need of replacing. I think they are just springs and covering, no padding at all. So we slept on top of the comforters for some padding. The shower was hot and strong but the shower head needed descaling. It sprayed in random directions from several of the holes. Breakfast on Monday was not good. The eggs were "juicy" and looked like they were not yet done. The sausage links, now patties were rubbery. The potatoes looked uncooked but were steaming. We didn't touch them.

We had the suite with a kitchenette & table for 4. a king bed in a room. Then 2 queen beds and a pull out couch in the common area. Didn't need this much space, but was all they would offer us for having 2 adults and 4 children in our party.

The price was definitely more than what we wanted to pay. Like $370 Can/night ( best rate with rewards card). But no other options. 2 regular rooms would have cost more.

We had a family suite. It was so big and roomy!! Extra sink outside the bath as well so many people can get ready at once. Beds and pillows were great!! Bonus in that the sitting area was comfortable as well. The staff were amazing at recommending places to see and eat. Our teenagers were able to easily walk down the hall to the pool. I cannot say enough good things about our stay, the serves and the staff. I almost changed to a different location but decided I wanted that suite - I am so thankful we didn't. I would stay here again!!

There was not one thing that I can say I didn't like.

Location to a lot of attractions. Pools.

Bath tub needs some kind of slip resistant. Almost fell a couple of times. Breakfast was plentiful but needs to be changed up at times. Need to have a waffle or pancake machine.
