The setting is beautiful! They had beautiful flowers throughout the property. Access to the trails. Fire pit in the back overlooking the hills. Birds everywhere. We love watching birds. Also loved seeing the horses on the field right next store. Location close to 1880 Steam Train, Black Elk Peak, and Mount Rushmore. Absolutely ideal. We like to cook for ourselves. They supply the charcoal for the outdoor grills. We love the hometown feel of this place, and were treated like family. Looking forward to coming back next year. We would love to bring our adult kids and their families. Lots for kids to do.

Only wish we could’ve stayed longer to enjoy more.

This was one of the cleanest cabin/hotels we ever stayed in, it is centrally located to everything and very peaceful. The views are amazing, there is a beautiful walking trail out back, with a stream running beside it. The owner George has bikes you can use to ride, as well as an inground pool, hot tub and fire pits. This was perfect for our family and if we ever come back, we will stay here again! Also if you have any questions George is very knowledgeable about the area, he gave us great advice on how to go through Custer state park and see everything and told us about the nighttime lighting ceremony at Mount Rushmore (which I highly recommend) this was a big help since there are so many ways you can drive through and possibly miss things!

Cabin was clean, cozy, has everything you need to live for a small period of time. We were shocked at what was included to use while we were there. Pool, hot tub, charcoal grills with charcoal, bonfire pits with wood, volleyball net with ball, playgrounds for kids, basketball hoop with ball, laundry facility to use for small fee that included laundry detergent, towels, utensils for cooking, pots & pans, and much much more! Owner was friendly and amazing to talk with! Property has a very beautiful scenery!

We had no complaints about our stay!

The suite was perfect for my family of 7. Parents and 5 children. Beds were clean and comfortable. The suite has wooden walls and the part of the furniture was made of wood as well. It is nice and pleasant place to arrive after a long day full of activities. The table is big enough for my whole family. My favorite place is the kitchen with all the utensils, so I can cook. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and non smoking place perfect for my stay.

They are adjacent to the Mickelson Trail, which is huge. You can actually pan for gold on the property. There is a lot of panning to get just a few flakes. The owners are really nice. Don’t worry if you forgot anything, they probably have it available in the office. The deer are everywhere.

The WiFi is a little weak, but it is included in the rate.

The hotel was very good ,a lot of space.very good for family of 5 .

The only thing I don’t like was that I have to clean the place to get my cleaning deposit (150$)with I already paid According to my email (75$) if I know I have to clean the room before leaving I don’t think I would have chosen this place

Beautiful location nestled in the green hills, main visiting attractions nearby. The cabin was spacious with two bedrooms, fully stocked kitchen. Wonderful family who runs the facility. George is always available for anything we need and knows everything there is to know about what to see, where to go and what to avoid!

There could have been paper towels in the kitchen

Cabins were clean and had comfortable beds. Awesome location! 15 minutes from everywhere to explore in the area. Spent many days exploring Custer State Park. Get out early so you see more amazing wildlife. Free bikes we signed out and rode on the gorgeous trail just behind cabins. Sooooo quiet here too minus the road traffic in the day when everyone is out exploring. Some folks complained about owners detailed rules but for us we totally didn't mind at all as it ensured there was a very nice crowd of people in the cabins. Zero loud partying people which we greatly appreciated after days of hiking and that meant great sleep. Full size fridge for groceries and coffee maker and fully stocked kitchen for meals. Nice pool. I loved the rustic vibe of this place and would definitely stay here again! Thank you George and Jocelyn!

I only wish we had stayed longer than 5 days as it was such a fun trip!!

This is an older resort just south of Hill City in the Black Hills. It is centrally located near Custer State Park, Jewel Cave, Deadwood, and close to Mt. Rushmore. The cabins are old and small but well maintained. BUT, this is a Great little resort for less than a hotel room and half the cost of other resorts! It backs up to the middle of the 106 mile long gravel bike trail that crosses the Black Hills! Super beautiful ride! The resort has bikes, a pool, outside tables and b-b-ques, play area for kids, hot tub, beautiful view of pine covered hills-we loved being there!

Nicer cabins, but that would double the price like other resorts in the area.

Location was great and centrally located to the entire area. George and Jocelyn are very friendly and accommodating. George even call us fresh lettuce out of their garden.

Fridge was a little out dated and did not have a separate freezer.
