This hotel offers an upscale old world experience, that is simply lacking in the competition. For the past 3 years most of the hotel competitors still cling to safety narrative to justify the lack of housekeeping staff. Not here!!! The Carnegie offers superb daily housekeeping. As an extra bonus, they have a restaurant, which is headed by a Chef, that offers an incredible imaginative menu. The competition? Well you get the tired old breakfast buffets, and if you are lucky, a meager dinner offering. So ask yourself, why should you give your business to the Marriott or Hilton organizations instead of coming here?

This hotel was beautiful and so clean, filled with many lovely items in the common areas. The area was beautiful and very safe. The bathroom in the room was HUGE and very clean. The bed was soft and quite cozy. I wish I could have stayed in bed all day! We had a problem with the shower being only scorching hot or freezing cold and making a loud clunking sound. When we called the front desk, they sent someone up right away who fixed it in minutes! This place was incredibly upscale for the small amount of money we paid for the room. Would come back again in a heartbeat! All the employees were very nice and treated us well. There are lots of wonderful eateries nearby. Cook Out was right next door...they had a wonderful peach cobbler shake you must try. Cootie Browns was just down the street and had a fun vibe and good, if a bit pricey food. Our favorite discovery was White Duck Taco which had so many fun drinks and unusual taco flavors like Bangkok Shrimp or Thai Peanut.

The place was amazing. The only small complaint we had was that the outdoor pool had no heater and the water was icy cold. It was in the 90s while we were there so the cold water was a complete shock!

My friends and I loved the soft, clean beds! The room was overall very clean and included a TV with many channels, a desk, a small refrigerator, and a safe. The bathroom was exceptional, with two sinks, a shower, and a bathtub. Soaps and shampoos were provided. We also discovered the closet with an ironing board. When we asked for more makeup wipes, they provided plenty! Besides the room, the hotel is gorgeously decorated. The main lobby has a very antique feel while the rooming floors were more modern. The parking was excellent too. I booked months in advance to reserve the best room available for our party, and I'm so glad we did! I don't know if our weekend in Johnson City would have been half as good if we had instead stayed elsewhere.

Our room did not have a microwave. There was also some difficulty with the lights, where the lamps wouldn't turn on one minute, and be fine the next. One outlet specifically did not work at all.

The room is larger than most hotel rooms. The bathroom was very spacious and had a separate shower from the tub. The bed was the softest bed I've ever slept on at a hotel. Everything was super comfortable. The hotel was spotless.

During the day, the big windows let in plenty of sunlight but at night the small lamps around the room just made the space dim. We happened to have needed the iron but it would just pour water right out and the front desk wouldn't do anything about it.

The room was magnificent (huge bathroom, spacious room, great view of ETSU). The staff was excellent and very professional. My partner had an exceptional exchange with one of the front desk attendants. The bar and bar staff top of the line. I will definitely stay at the Carnegie for my next visit to JC!

I am not complaining, but I think that the price of the hotel room could have been a bit lower based on the time of year and capacity of the hotel, but I still love it here!

I could not ask for a nicer room, comfortable, clean, and quiet. This was a pleasant experience from parking in the garage, checking in, two quiet nights of sleep, and checking out. The garage, the outside entrance, the elevator, the lobby, the hallways, and the room were all clean and inviting.

The only negative was while staying on the sixth floor, which was fine, the ice machine was down on the lower level.

The hotel itself is beautiful. Our room was very spacious and our bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and set up very well. It was convenient to have a restaurant inside the hotel. We had breakfast their each morning and dinner our last night there. The service and food were very good. The hours for check in and out were very accommodating. Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Johnson City.

The location was great, just across the road from where our daughter attends college. We have stayed here a number of times but this room has the best view of the area of any other room. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the hotel has an excellent decorative appearance.

The bed was okay but I prefer one that is firmer. It would be nice if there was a guide to show what was on each channel not just which channel was which.

I have traveled all over the world and Carnegie Hotel is right up there with the best hotels I've ever stayed at. Everything was exceptional from my room to the bar and restaurant. Only complaint is the parking lot offers few spaces for clients. Great location and the prices were competitive.

There was nothing that I didn't like.

The property is clean, The lobby is beautiful well furnished and a higher end feel when you first walk in. The staff is polite and professional.

For being a premium hotel in Johnson City I was expecting premium amenities and services.Daily room turn down service not needing to be requested. Someone available to help with the door and luggage, being greeted at the door ect. They did have a luggage rack that you could use if you requested it, but I can get that at a Holiday Inn express. For the Price I paid I expected more.
