Room was very spacious with large windows. The location is perfectly situated been the shops and restaurants of Market Square/Gay St. and the Tennessee campus. Gym is small but had everything you might need - a few treadmills, spin bikes, yoga mats, free weights and a few machines. The staff were all super friendly and really helpful. I had two separate reservations (1 night followed by 2 nights) and they ensured that I could stay in the same room while keeping the receipts/payments separated. I did not use the car service, but that is a nice perk when the weather is not cooperating. Everything was very clean.

My room was right near the ice machine and noise came through noticeably from the hallway. This is not an issue for me but those who are sensitive to noise may want to request a specific room location.

The Tennessean is a beautiful hotel near downtown Knoxville. My daughter is a student at UTK and it was walking distance from her dorm but we had a car so used that most of the time. They do charge for parking and only have valet parking. I don't mind paying for parking but would prefer to come and go as we please. The hotel has a very pretty/lobby and restaurant area that appeared to be attached to the Marriot next door. I had a king room. It was very nice with huge windows that looked out to the park. Bed was comfy and it had black out curtains. We were able to walk to Market Square about 4 or 5 blocks up the street. Next time I may trying staying right down town.

No bathtub in the bathroom and no pool.

We has a very nice room with huge bathroom and giant walk-in shower with bench seat. I love that the toilet had a separate little room with solid door that closed. I appreciate the low-key night lights in the bathroom and toilet room! Also, I love the automatic light that turns on when you open the cabinet that houses the mini fridge and extra blanket, iron, etc. The staff are outstanding! wonderful front desk staff and coffee shop! I got a tasty Mocha there. The shuttle bus drivers to and from our campus tour drop off were excellent. We asked questions about the city and campus. The engineering student who works as a shuttle driver was very nice and we enjoyed talking to him.

The bathroom door leading to the bedroom is a sliding barn door that has nearly a 2” gap that stays open. Ridiculous! It lets light and noise into the bedroom. If you are trying to get ready early while someone else is attempting to sleep in, that bathroom door gap is a problem. Put in regular doors - not the modern farmhouse trendy useless barn door attempt at “fashion.” The rest of the room is more modern/classic and doesn’t match that style anyway. While I appreciate the Keurig coffee maker and setup, you need to place some sterile, wrapped, take-out coffee cups and lids. Same with bathroom cups. I know you’re trying to be fancy with mugs and glass cups, but I don’t trust they’re truly clean and I wanted take out coffee to leave with.

Book to the hotel last mininute over Christmas. It was a planned family get-together. Where the original plan totally fella part and the trip turned out wonderfully. The staff at the Tennessean Inn was amazing, took great care of us, and I will go back whenever I have an opportunity. I have stayed in great hotels all over the world this is one of them. And like all great hotels it's not about the facilities themselves it's about the well trained engaged and motivated staff.

Nothing I didn't like.

Room (King premier) was spacious. Bar was nice only at night and breakfast (not open for lunch). People were friendly. Location was excellent

First they texted me it was "$30" for overnight parking. Then the valet said it was "$30 oh and tax (9.25% mind you!)". Then when I finally got the receipt from front desk an "Urban amenities fee" $10 ". Just say its about $40 upfront folks!

it was beautiful and very clean! room was good size and everything was comfortable. we needed to be at the convention center across the street so the location was amazing. the staff was so nice and helpful!

the only issue I had was when looking at the property online they didn’t specify that breakfast was not included nor was it buffet style (like in the picture) and price for valet is not specified. other than that everything was well worth it!

The overall look and feel of the hotel is fresh and exciting. The hotel room (classic king) was spacious, comfortable, and very accommodating. The hotel interiors and décor were surprisingly sophisticated like you might find an an upscale boutique hotel. The exquisite food absolutely blew us away. And, the staff ... all were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and had an excellent command of the English language. We freaking love the Tennessean! Bravo! We will be back!

That we could not bring our small fur-baby into the dining room to eat breakfast (but, of course, that was not a surprise).

Everything was perfect, great service, rooms that surpassed my expectations. I had the best old fashioned at their level 2 bar. The coffee shop was great in the morning. Valet was fast, I asked for my car to be ready for my 5AM flight, they nailed it. The walk to market squared is very quick, so an excellent location as well.

Nothing.

The hotel is a lovely small property that surprisingly connects with a Marriott convention center. The corner rooms are very well appointed with sizable bathrooms and one of the most comfortable hotel beds we’ve ever slept in. Reception staff were friendly and eager to help. The valet will charge up your electric car overnight- big bonus!

We were expecting an actual, nice restaurant but it’s a bar. Menu is limited and not much on it for vegetarians. The gave us the option to dine over at the Marriott Convention center but that was not the vibe of our evening. The addition of a really good cozy restaurant would round out this property as a great option to stay.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They also provide free soda and water at the front desk. There is a coffee shop and 2 restaurants in the hotel complex. They have a shuttle and were so nice to take us to our concert and also pick us up after so that we didn't have to pay for an Uber or Lyft. Overall amazing hotel for the price. Highly recommended!
