Brilliant location right in the centre of Austin, walking distance to lots of sights and bus distance to others (and the 24 hrs bus ticket only costs $2.50). I got a free welcome beer on arrival and it came with a free hostel branded koozie, which was a nice bonus. All of the staff members were very helpful and there were loads of spaces to work if you needed them. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean and not too busy. Really big lockers in the rooms that you could secure with your own padlock

Room was a bit dark and dingy and it was quite small for 8 beds, but they provided ear plugs and I was still able to sleep well

Really nice hostel in central Austin, right next to 6th Street. Friendly staff members and the facilities were good, including common areas around the hostel and a spacious and well-functioning kitchen. You can also get a discount at the built-in speakeasy which is a nice bonus.

No major issues, the room I was in was quite small so when it was full it was a bit of a squeeze and the bathrooms are a bit rundown and haven't got the best facilities.

Great location, near the shops, bars, restaruants etc. Liked the female dorm bed I had, it had a clip on fan on a shelf on the bed, and it has a slight privacy partition. Kitchen was great for socialising and good facilities for cooking.

Just a small thing, but the hotplates in kitchen were quite hard to work out how to use (between us staying there we usually managed to work it out), instructions would be useful.

Location and facility.Beds, linens & blankets, fans, good a/c. Light switches clearly marked Friendly attentive staff. Location Rustic decor. "Speakeasy" bar off lobby Location

Not 100% maintained: some lights (vanity) not working; 1 hot water handle in dual sinks not intact. 1 wifi code given @ reception, but another in email- also different instructions about linens when leaving(1 said bring to desk, newer said put in basket) Stairs to Penthouse steep with no landing at top

The staff was amazing and the location! I visited a lot of interesting things just walking around. Other locators were also really nice. This is the best place to meet some new people and have fun! I felt safe and welcome.

Rooms are dark, which is good when you need to go to sleep, but not when you need to pack your bags. Another thing is the bathroom, there are no changing stalls and I prefer to have two towels instead of one.

The building having AC and our beds each having a little fan was amazing in the heat. The bathrooms were simple but fairly nicely taken care of. Laundry was easy and convenient. Downtown location was convenient.

I wish the lights could be dimmer some times for if it's late at night and I don't want to be woken up/wake up others. I wish the bunks had curtains and that we had more space for luggage. Group of homeless people outside all the time was not nice.

I took one star off due to the outside of the building looking REALLY sketch - which can be quite concerning for a solo woman traveler. However, once inside, it was very clean and even though there was a bar with live music in the basement, it was pretty quiet on my floor. Other roomies were very respectful too. The downside to being right off 6th street and close to all the weekend action are the noisy street cleaning trucks at 5am. The upside is I was able to walk everywhere.

1) Could not get hot water to work the first couple days 2) Needed feminine products and there were none, not even for purchase (closest store was closed) 3) No water filter (this would be SUCH an inexpensive and thoughtful thing to add to the kitchen 4) When the coffee was ready, it was the BOMB - but when the coffee was not ready, it was impossible to try to figure out how to use the percolator without instructions

Howie at the front desk was super friendly and helpful my whole stay. Super cool guy, hope to see him there when I book again. Also Lauren organized a pub crawl and he was friendly as well, it was a chill way to meet other people visiting Austin.

N/A all around a positive experience.

I had an excellent experience, the staff was very friendly and accessible, the place was very central, close to many bars and clubs, also very close to the capitol, I highly recommend this place, I would return without thinking twice

Since it's close to streets where nightlife was going on, I was sometimes woken up by noise from outside, but it was little, and it's totally understandable

absolutely everything! The hostel was very clean; probably the cleanest hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff were incredibly helpful and kind. I believe his name is Howie, but he helped me through my checkout process which was really helpful. The bar has a speakeasy vibe and has a super cool entrance. My dorm had storage under the bed which was really convenient. The storage is also really spacious. The beds were not bad to sleep on, there is also a dedicated work space which may be helpful to others there for work. Right around the corner is a street full of bars. I didn’t realize how close I was to entertainment. I didn’t need to shower there, so I can’t comment on that. Also, the hostel is near so much. You could easily walk to get coffee or breakfast or just walk the area in general. CVS is not far in case you forgot anything. Also, getting in and out of the hostel and in your dorm space is phenomenal. I felt safe using a key card and code to access the property. As a solo travel that was a huge deal. I honestly cannot wait to book another stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone or all ages, but definitely for those that are in the fence about hostel stays-book the stay; you won’t regret it.

I honestly don’t have any complaints. My stay, and the service I received was phenomenal.
