- Good location for exploring Austin and great location for the Congress Bridge bats. - Pool area is lovely although there don’t appear to be staff collecting empty drinks/discarded towels so pool area could be more presentable. - Amazing Mexican cafe within hotel serving juices/smoothies and food.

We went up to the hotel bar around the time of the bat flight only to be told that the bar and restaurant were fully booked. This was disappointing as we had not been told that as a hotel guest we would need to pre-book.

The hotel was hip and definitely a popular place for gathering people. The decor provided a sense of fun and chic. The location of the hotel was perfect for being downtown for dinner and music as well as having direct access to the path along the lake. The P6 Bar was outstanding with great drinks and food as well as a comfortable spot with great views. Our lake bridge view room was one of the best rooms we have stayed in with lots of space and amazing views of the bustle below.

The valet staff was hit and miss. Is there a rule of no longer helping with luggage. Upon arrival and departure we handled our own suitcases. What's with that? We had money ready to tip the valet when we were leaving but he basically took his time getting our car to us and then didn't even lift a finger to help with our bags. Housekeeping needs to work on being more consistent with a checkoff list. Coffee cups were missing after one service then we were missing one face towel and a hand towel. We were given water when we arrived and housekeeping took my bottle that still had water in it. Upon arrival we had a makeup towel and then the rest of the stay we never got another one. The Kleenex box was empty and it was never replaced.

The main lobby / gathering area is beautiful and chic. The pool area was an awesome urban oasis with tasty drinks and a view of the Congress Ave bridge. The restaurants on site (Veracruz and P6) were AMAZING. We ate at Veracruz several times during our trip, and sunset dinner / drinks at P6 is unbeatable. Lastly, the location could not be more perfect. It’s a short walk to South Congress or anywhere you want to go downtown. Being right next to the Congress Ave bridge is an ideal location for bat watchers too.

Our ONLY complaint about The Line was that the beds are pretty uncomfortable. All of the beds are platform beds, so they are just a mattress on top of a slab of wood. Normally this is fine without a box spring, but the mattresses were also very uncomfortable themselves. We all woke up with lower back pain each morning. We are all young and not high maintenance sleepers, so all of us having the same experience said something about the quality of the beds.

The location was perfect for us. The view from the room was great (Lake view). The atmosphere of the hotel was fun. The taco shop is out of this world.

Sorry to say the mattress was not comfortable. Note to management: Time for an upgrade. It would have been nice to have two solid chairs in the room. Plumbing a little slow, but eventually it all went through. All small things for us - we would return.

The room views were absolutely amazing and love how it is a refurbished hotel from the 60’s, it has so much charm and amenities, we will definitely be back! We unfortunately had a cold snap of weather during our visit but the heated pool made it all feel better and our toddler loved getting to splash in the shallow ends. This hotel has a great location and is so central near neighboring parks, trails, the capital, and Rainey street.

the location was wonderful. walking distance to lots of places. it was clean. really great staff at front desk, valet, bell service and at the restaurant Veracruz! Nice pool area and bar.

the building felt a little dated. shower leaked water all over the bathroom floor and shower handle fell off at one point. we were able to put it back on pretty easily. lighting in bathroom was very dim. lighting in gym was also very dim and it was very warm in there. would also like more security as far as accessing guest rooms from the elevator.

The property was fantastic. Location excellent. Bathrooms were very well appointed. Clean linens. Amazing views. Excellent service from staff. Paddle board rental a block from the hotel. Walking distance to Rainey. They have a discount through Soothe and we enjoyed massage services in room. Would 100% stay again.

The pool deck was very over crowded. With the hotel fully booked I was surprised to find they were still selling day passes to public. There were many carpet stains of questionable origin throughout hotel and in room, but linens all clean. Valet service app did not work.

Good location and fun modern style. Options for eating were good, but the service was patchy. Pretty pool but smaller than pics make it. Good access to the water and water activities. Easy walking to resturants.

I upgraded for a better view and more space for a rollaway bed which I pre-reserved with the Rooms Manager. reception staff said upgrade was a suite. It was just an alcove. The bed was not delivered right away and when I asked for it in the evening there was much confusion as “all of them were in use.” With some patience and prodding- one was found(it’s a large property). They were apologetic, but there was a lot of go around to get what I had reserved and paid for. The hours for the pool- 10pm close on a holiday weekend was early. The staff at the restaurants/ bar were not attentive- and it was not soooooo busy.

The location was really incredible. The hotel is so beautifully decorated and I loved the attention to every small detail. It was a very lovely experience. I let the hotel know we were celebrating our anniversary and they left a bottle of champagne in the room, which was a nice and thoughtful treat! We had a room with a river view where we could have sat in front of the window all day.

Only thing missing was a bathtub. I was really hoping for a long soak. But the bathroom was beautiful.

Overall we do like The LINE - so much that we booked it twice in the same round trip All the guys working in Valet are noticeably lovely

Our second encounter at The LINE was disappointing - a couple very small but noticeable differences from our first stay include the temperature of the pool was a lot warmer - kind of soupy and not refreshing. The hallways were very dirty - we stayed for three days and in these three days they hadn't been vacuumed (and needed it!). We also had food left out from room service across the hall for more than 24 hours. I mentioned this to the front desk and they sorted it right away - but for $400 a night I would expect better on all of the above. Weekends are also a LOT more expensive than weeknights and not nearly as nice to stay in because of overall busyness from hens, stags and weddings
