This a very old hotel. You can smell it, but not a bad smell. You know when you go into an old home with original wood floors you can smell the wood. I like that smell. It is very clean and luxurious. It is not the Ritz of course but it is still a elegant hotel with character. Loved it. About 5 minutes walk to Riverwalk. The rooms I got was the view of the Alamo. It was big.

The valet was $43 with tax😳, but you are downtown in a historic building with ties to the Alamo. The bed was a little hard but still nice.

Hotel was nice, updated. Breakfast was good. Employees were always above and beyond. Hotel is in a Great location. Across from the Alamo. Couple blocks from the Riverwalk. Lots of Great restaurants around. Would definitely stay there again! After writing this, and Reading Other Reviews.. There must be Different size rooms. Our Room was Big, bathroom was a great size. We were facing the Alamo. Must have been cheaper rooms that were smaller. I thought the price we paid was Very Reasonable. So I recommend calling and asking.

Our Only issue was the room keys. We had to go to the desk 4 times to get our keys redone. We kept them in the little xard holder they gave us.. they suggested maybe they were deactivated being next to a cel phone.. but they weren't near our phones. It was very Annoying to have to keep going back down to the desk.

I thought the room was well appointed except for the plastic cups. It seems like there would be glasses or ceramic mugs when you are paying the rate we paid. I liked the shower and toilet being in a different space which seemed private.

Our room looked nothing like the pictures on the website, our color were blue and gray so not sure if we got an old room or that is the new color scheme and the website isn't updated or there are multiple types of décor throughout the hotel. did notice the rug had some spots that didn't look like it had been vacuumed recently. But everything else was clean. I did not like our view - we had a view of the roof and then one wall had windows but our view was of bricks from a building next door

The hotel was fantasitic, the room was cozy and the bed very comfortable. The location was amazing, literally 2 min away from Alamo and Riverwalk! The stuff was very friendly and really went above and beyond to satisfy our requests.

The breakfast was nice for Americans/people used to have meat and salty stuff in the morning. But there was barely nothing sweet and the fruit offer was also very limited. Parking is a big issue bc it's valet only and pretty expensive! The AC is a bit noisy, but the stuff met our request and moved us to a quiter room and they even adjusted water pressure to make the ac less noisy!

Good value , historic building , high ceiling ( sone rooms don’t have windows- we had the room with windows) so not sure what the room with no windows are like. The location was good, not fully in the center but walkable to main attractions. 8mns walk from riverside walk. Breakfast is included. Manager greets guests in breakfast room. Love that!

Parking was expensive. $42 per day and there were no Public parking close by for less. The $20 public lot across the street was for 10 hours only.

The hotel is a historic office building that has been renovated and is conveniently located across from the Alamo. The valet parking is great, and check-in was easy. The hotel staff were all friendly and the bed was comfortable. Even though we didn't eat breakfast (we don't eat in the morning), it smelled delicious with many options.

There weren't enough places in the bathroom for towels (nothing by the shower). The interior of the hotel does not look like the photos online, especially the dining and bar area.

Great location for a cool and historical old hotel. The staff were very nice and welcoming, with great friendly attitudes. Breakfast buffet was plentiful with perfectly crisped bacon. Large bed was comfortable, and products in the shower were good quality.

The air conditioning in my room was both very loud and somewhat ineffective! It wasn't a big deal, though - the room was cool enough even in the baking heat. The layout of the room is kind of awkward - I feel like they could benefit from getting an interior designer in to figure out how to make better use of the space. The person checking me in made a mistake while taking my card to put the damage deposit on hold and I ended up with multiple charges for extremely random-appearing amounts to my card - ranging from $188 to $1,122. When I brought this to the attention of the reception, they were extremely apologetic, and rectified the situation immediately.

Great location very close to the River Walk. Could see the Alamo from my room. Nice ambience. Not too loud. Fabulous included breakfast. Hotel also has a bar. Friendly staff.

Parking was expensive. $30 a day in the public lot next door or valet for around $40 a day after everything included. Water pressure was very weak in the shower. Only one small drawer for storage in addition to the hanging rod.

The staff was great. The check in was smooth and quick. The rooms are beautiful and cozy. The bed was so comfortable. The location was great as well. Complimentary breakfast was a plus! The breakfast had a variety of great foods. The staff accommodated us when we had an issue with our initial room's heater. I called the front desk and they quickly switched us to another room. We were actually upgraded to the bigger suite.

The only thing was that our original room's heater was not heating but the issue was resolved really quick.

The property was very clean and had a lot of the old decor from the building still there, which was beautiful to see. The location was perfect, right across the road from the Alamo and not too far from the river walk (which is a must-see). The staff were super friendly and helpful and the breakfast there was very enjoyable. Rooms were also very clean and decorated beautifully.
