For a place to stay in Blacksburg, it's always reliable. I've been staying here whenever we have Virginia Tech business or leisure visits (over 10 yrs). This property has outdoor seating that is garden like, an indoor bar area AND several indoor gathering areas that feel private. You can have peaceful quiet relaxation, swim/workout, do your work, or bring friends to meet you there for a bit of low key entertaining.

The speed bumps in the parking lot are obnoxious. Everything else is great in parking lot, including being clean, feeling safe, and has several open but shady spots.

Liked everything except cleanliness of room. Bed and sheet very clean. Bathroom very clean just paper supplies ran out after first hour being there

Was food crumbs and black fuzz all over floor and behind furniture was really dirty with huge pieces of trash. Nightstand had sticky ring on it and tissues were empty.

Breakfast was excellent.

My check in was horrible. No one was at the desk. I have to wait for close to 20 minutes. The young lady did not apologize for it. She was not friendly, I don’t remember her looking at me during the whole process, she did not go over much details about the facility . It was not a great Hilton customer service!

I loved how pet friendly this hotel was. The area outside with bags provided was wonderful.

the room across the hall , the occupant kept going in and out of their room every 20 min all night into the wee hours of the morning. Every time their door slammed shut it woke us and our dog up. We didn't get much sleep to say the least

In the current climate, being the minority (black woman) in places of business usually causes me anxiety. I truly loved the staff, I was treated so well. I was comfortable and I felt safe. The morning and evening staff all displayed great hospitality. The breakfast waitstaff and the evening bar staff, I know I’m rambling but I think it’s a treasure to find a place where there is such great work ethic and camaraderie that flows to the patrons is rare.

The staff was most helpful and positive: front desk (Delaney, Maria) were awesome! The bartender (Austin was great) and the maids were friendly and pleasant.

Disappointed that the washing machine was broken the entire time that we were there. We had to drive to a laundry mat, not good.

The facility was very clean and the staff was friendly. The location close to VT campus was good.

It is confusing that I didn’t get my Hilton points just because I booked through third party. Hilton got paid by me, not the third party! If a guest pays Hilton, the guest should get the points.

Didn't eat the breakfast. Staff said hello every time I walked past. Bed was comfortable.

Shouldn't have to pay for water in the room - either offer complimentary or don't put them in the room. Many hotels I've stayed offer continental breakfast for free.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. They even gave our dog Duncan a treat which he loved. We were moving our daughter from one apartment to another and being able to bring our dog to the hotel lowered our stress abundantly!

The location is a 10 to 12 minute walk to downtown , the rooms are spacious and well appointed. Check in and check out are done smoothly without much ado.The property has a fitness centre , an indoor pool, laundry and a business centre for all immediate needs. The bar however is closed at temporarily but some beer and wines are available at a kiosk adjacent to the front desk . A sumptuous breakfast is served daily and orders are catered to at an astonishing pace. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and help is always at hand. The driving force is the man behind , the manager Patrick Hurley who is in the thick of the action , doubling his act at the front desk ,the restaurant etc. Truly an admirable act. If I were to visit Blacksburg again I would choose Hilton Garden Inn without any further thought.

Unfortunately the restaurant was open only for breakfast, and the lounge was not functioning. Acceptable however in these days of a surge in Covid 19 cases.
