Staff was great all around.

The only thing I didn't like was that guests were smoking cigarettes on the patio. Being there with my 6 month old, I couldn't sit outside in the morning because of people smoking cigarettes. When we left someone else was right outside the lobby doors smoking while sitting on the bench. I think they should enforce the no smoking within so many feet of the building. It's not fair that nonsmokers and babies can't enjoy the outdoor facilities.

Room layout, size and kitchenette were a perfect size for 2. Probably for 4 also. Beds, chair and couch were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Pool was clean and good temperature. Personnel were fantastic. And outdoor gas grills?? Yes! Location? Excellent.

This is the tough one. But for the following issue, this hotel would have received top marks across the board. Upon inspecting the bathroom, there were trimmed pubic hairs all over the floor, top vanity surface and towels. Totally unacceptable. The front desk clerk came up and did a total cleaning and replacement of towels. That was the saving grace. But this can not happen in any hotel, but especially in a higher-end facility.

Great hotel in close proximity to area restaurants and shops and even a movie theatre within walking distance! One can also easily walk to downtown and Virginia Tech Campus from the hotel. Nice amenities and great customer service at the front desk!

Elevator floor could have been cleaner but overall property was well maintained and had good amenities and much to offer.

Convenient location for visiting VT, within walking distance to restaurants and grocery store, clean rooms and facilities, nice kitchen area in room.

This hotel has a modern bar/outdoor seating area with a fire pit adjacent to the front entrance. The not-so-nice part is that several people were smoking in this area, so upon arrival we had to walk through a giant cloud of smoke just to get inside the hotel. It is not a pleasant experience to be greeted with the terrible smell of cigarettes. Ban the smoking!

can you say OMG upgraded? we stay at Home2 Suites a lot. Many are getting a little worn so when we checked into this one we were pleasantly surprised. the room we had was smaller than what we usually have but for 2 of us it was fine. the bathroom was fantastic, 2 shower heads and lots of hot water and water pressure. the bed was very comfy and the pillows were great! so much better than Rochester. The breakfast was ok, only instant oatmeal rather than cooked which was disappointing to me but I had an English muffin instead.

it’s not very sound proof. you heard every little door slam and foot step.

For visiting VA Tech this was a perfect location with lots of restaurant options and shopping options

Door did not have a sign for housekeeping so they knocked every morning. Would have preferred to let them know so they didn't knock and wake room

The hotel and room were clean and accommodations were great. Breakfast had a number of tasty items. My daughter slept on the pull out sofa and said it was one of the most comfortable beds she ever slept in.

The coffee. Only light roast. The price being higher due to open house at Virginia Tech.

Hotel is within walking distance of a variety of restaurants and a movie theater and only a mile from downtown and convenient to campus. Nice pool and outdoor lounge areas. Breakfast was great as was the guest service at front desk check-in.

Security. Early one morning about 5:30 I accompanied my wife to the lobby to go out side for her to smoke a cigarette. In our hall way on the second floor we encountered a male subject sprawled out on the floor sleeping. Upon our return back to the room we encountered the same person in the second floor hall using his cell phone apperently trying to gain access to a room. Our friends in the adjacent room to ours later informed us that the same person was trying to gain access to there room about 4;30 am. We informed the desk clerk of all this and inquired about the security system and was informed that there were no security cameras for that floor.

The room was very spacious, the breakfast was wonderful, and the hotel was very clean.

We were woken up at 6AM by a crying baby and the mother let the baby cry for 30 minutes. We would hope that a family with a baby would be given a room at the end of the hall. We also, more importantly, were so sad that no one was soothing the baby.
