Surfbreak Oceanfront Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

Great location right on the board walk. Our ocean view room was wonderful. Rooms were modern and well equipped with mini fridge and microwave. Nice free coffee service in the morning. Nice casual beach bar, "Calypso" right in the hotel. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Parking was free one block away, with valet available if desired.

Pool deck was a little small and did not have a view of the ocean due to a wall enclosing the pool.

Close to some of our favorite restaurants! Comfy bed ! Great view of the ocean! Able to park in the hotel Parking lot! Helpful staff very friendly!

The hallway carpet could be updated or removed/cleaned. Shower takes 20 plus minutes to warm up.

some of the staff was shady/rude (asked for late checkout super early and they told me no it’s only for “gold or silver members” but another worker said their is no such thing, then he gave it to us but then when we came back later they didn’t have us on the list.) the nice morning girl let us in though :)

The manager was perfect. She met all my immediate needs before i even checked in and got me the perfect room for my stay and view of the stage. Made my event so much better.

Im not sure what the reason behind it really is...but if the property itself gets a really good remodel or refurbished update and some renovations i feel like the stay would been more perfect... the room and building itself could use alot of updates. Honestly my only concern i didnt like. Considering it may not be directly the manager or staff fault its virginia and ita only so much can be done

Bed was comfortable staff was friendly and helpful. Booked room 315 couldn't see from balcony. They give us a unoccupied room with a good veiw

Rooms from 311 to 316 the veiw is blocked. A/C not working in hallways. Building is in need of cosmetic repair

I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and space in the room. Loved having a balcony. The connected restaurant and nearby restaurants were great to be able to walk too. Parking was a short walk away, but convenient. The staff was very friendly and helpful, Z and Jasmyn helped us and we were glad for their help.

Didn't trust the ice machines. One looked ok, but wasn't sure if it was working. The other seemed to be working but room & machine looked dirty.

Every room has oceanfront balcony views. Room is comfortable and I don’t know where the comments about it being unclean or there being no maid service because we had everything we needed including towels in the room. Easy access to the ocean. Refrigerator microwave in the room and adequately sized TV even though we didn’t use it. Had no problems with any noise, we didn’t hear our neighbors or any doors at all. Free parking around the corner wasn’t an issue at all. Would stay again!

If you want to hear the ocean from your room at night, you will not but during the day or the morning it’s not bad. Music from the restaurant attached to the bottom of the hotel downstairs was loud until about 1 AM on the some days, but we slept fine anyways

The room was very clean and comfortable, and the hotel is located right on the beach and boosts a very nice restaurant bar on the 1st floor.

Unfortunately, there is virtually no on-site parking, and you have to park your car two blocks away from the hotel in a pay to park lot that the hotel rents along with a few other businesses. The view from our 3rd floor room was mostly obstructed by vents and huge air conditioning units that were located right in front of the balcony of the room. There still isn’t any complimentary breakfast being offered in the morning; so you have to leave the property to eat, and the cost of the room was a bit steep.

I like the view and the location. We were in the heart of all the excitement yet in a very safe enviroment.

Previous hotel stays listed nearby attractions and had a list of nearby restaurants. This hotel had a lot to offer but everything was by word or mouth. The front desk staff (1st shift) were awesome and answered all my questions on nearby restaurants.

Our room was spectacular, the staff was amazing! What I loved most was dealing with the staff after I returned home to Canada! I accidentally left all my jewelry in the room and thought I’d never see it again but to my surprise, house keeping found my jewelry and put it in a secure safe. I emailed the hotel and the manager immediately directed me on how I would receive my jewelry including shipping information. Surfbreak and its staff are second to NONE! First time at this hotel but definitely not my last.
