This is a great place to stay in Washington D.C. and was the perfect choice for a combined business and family trip. The 2-bedroom suite with kitchen, living room, 2 bathrooms, and dishwasher/dryer, met all of our different parent and child needs. It was very clean, well-equipped, and the location was a short walk to both sightseeing locations and business meetings. The price was also very reasonable - I would say that it was more cost effective than 2 connecting hotel rooms in the area - and this was helped by the fact that we could buy food in and manage our laundry over a 7-night stay. We went on a 12-minute walk to the nearest Whole Foods for our shopping and ordered takeout from the Panera Bread next door (which has fantastic staff). I really can't say enough to recommend AKA White House. We - 2 adults and 2 12-years olds - agree that we would definitely choose to stay here again.

We liked the size of the room but not the lack of cleaning service. Based on our stay we should have had room service on Friday (May13-20) but no one showed up. We did like the bar and movie theater and proximately to the White House. So location was great. My family liked the gym as well. Washer and dryer are nice to have.

No room service unless you stay a certain number of days which we did and still nothing! Room with King Size bed did not have a private bathroom. Only the smaller queen room did! Makes no sense. Construction was happening next door and drilling woke us up at 5 AM. If you stay on the back side of the hotel you will also hear trash pickup at 6 am every morning. No trash pickup either. Although I saw maids in the hallway, people’s trash was still in plastic bags in front of their rooms for several days. Hope this review improves their service.

Location was amazing. So close to the White House and walking distance to the metro.

The terrace is not as indicated. Also surrounding restaurants close early. Hard to find somewhere to eat during late hours.

The staff was excellent each and every interaction. We loved the space and layout of the apt, the location to everything and the cinema.

The apt we got needed a DEEP clean. Orange slime mold in the shower of the master bath (the top of the bar soap holder). Dust on dressers and every corners of bathrooms. Rusted lights and shower corners. Needed refreshed. No amenities left for us in the master bath. We had to search for all the trash cans. The washer and dryer need to be cleaned. Mold on the rubber liner of the washer. We did not tell the front desk because it should have been clean prior to our arrival and we did not want to be bothered during our stay. Disappointed by the roof top terrace.

Great location and all the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Close walking distance to the Metro stations and lots to eat close by. Easy walk to the National Mall area. Unit was very spacious and the kitchen was equipped with the basic necessities if you wanted to eat or cook in. Surrounding area felt very safe. Very convenient for families that are traveling due to the 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with shared living area.

There was an odd moldy smell when we showered and the steam would build up, but if we just left the door open while we showered it was fine.

Location, location, location, clean, cosy, excellent air conditioning, great space, great transportation outside the door that give Syl you access to entire DC city, very helpful staff, and great tv channels.

the only issue we had was the noise of the air conditioning fans from the adjacent building, however having stayed at AKA for a week, you don’t mind it after a night or two. but other than that nothing bad about the apartment itself.

Amiable and helpful staff, a very spacious and clean apartment and very comfortable beds. Good transport links and many sights within walking distance. A good bakery next door. The front desk provides coffee for the coffee machine on demand.

The equipment in the kitchen lacked some basics. We had no spatula, which I only realised when I needed it. This was quickly rectified. A few other things like a salad bowl were also missing but we didn't ask and just worked with what we could find. It was a minor inconvenience. There was one night when some loud loading with a lot of banging was ongoing in the backyard until about 1 AM. Luckily this only happened once.

The suites are spacious, clean and tastefully furnished, leaning towards business neutral. The staff was very friendly, the hotel has a great gym and its own bar. The location is very close to the White House, World Bank and IMF; great for a combination of downtown work visits and tourism.

The cleaning staff were quite noisy in the hallways and the street-facing windows were dirty from the outside.

Four a family of 4, this was perfect. Very spacious with two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a spacious living area and full kitchen. Location was excellent right near the White House and close to a Metro station.

The $25 charge for water, etc., is a bit silly considering an already fairly expensive room rate. I will say though that there was never a problem getting additional water, coffee, tea, etc., from the front desk. Bathrooms could tolerate updating but this is a minor issue since they were still quite clean and fully functional.

If you're looking to tour the city, it would be hard to beat the location. The suite was clean and spacious, and was perfect for my husband and I and a travelling companion as there were two bedrooms and two baths: one ensuite.

The hotel has a beautiful bar that wasn't open. The hotel website mentioned a lounge which is an important amenity to us. I queried the front desk and was told the bar was scheduled to open the week following our stay. The photos of the rooftop were also misleading. Although the location was great, travelers should be aware that the hotel is lacking in the way of views and is very dark (lobby and hallways).
