We were given a room with a small seating area, fridge and coffee maker as well as a dressing room en route to the ensuite. The bed was comfortable and the room well serviced each day. We had a problem with the TV at one point and this was sorted immediately. We loved the location of the hotel - within half a mile of the White House and within short walking distance to metro stations. We didn't use the hotel's restaurant because there were many other eateries in the area.
Just an eco-point relevant it seems to most hotels in North America. We are British and used to retaining our towels each day unless we indicate we want them changed. Saves on energy!

The location of hotel is fantastic. Metro from airport brought us within a few blocks which was great. We were so central it was impossible not to walk everywhere and see so much on foot. The kitchenette with fridge in a small separate area was good, and a table in there to eat at. We loved the old world charm of the hotel. The only small issue we had was not having a USB port in room plugs, which meant we had to buy a travel adapter (as visiting from europe) we were grateful to hotel to giving us an extra 40min until we had to check out as we had just run the rock n roll half marathon and we were moving slowly!!
No USB charger/connection. Plug required.

This is an historic hotel on Pennsylvania Avenue at the edge of George Washington University, within walking distance of the National Mall and well served by busses and underground rail. Given the building’s age, it seems to have been solidly built and it was quiet, with large rooms. The bed was comfortable with decent furniture in the rest of the suite. The air conditioning worked quietly and well. The staff was friendly and helpful and their restaurant was very good.
The quality of the rooms and furnishings was good, but not luxurious (but we were not charged luxury prices either). If one were wheelchair-dependent, a hotel of this vintage would be a serious challenge, as far as I could see. Only the rooms at the front of the hotel would have anything like a view.

I liked the old feel of the hotel, which had an old school concierge and butler for our bags. We were given a suite with a window view, which had a kitchenette and refrigerator. The location was great, only a short walk away from The White House and a lot of places to eat and drink across the road and around the corner.
The floorboards were creeky, and the room above seemed to have the same problem. The bed was also creeky, which was annoying in the middle of the night when turning over. The toilet was very close to the door, and it was difficult to close. The windows were single pane, meaning we heard all noise from outside. The TV was fuzzy, so we couldn't watch it.

We loved the vibe: Lombardy was built in 1929 and they kept the 20s feel intact, including a shutter-type door that enclosed our room entrance; we loved that they kept them. Our King Suite bed was perfect. There's a small ante-room with sink, fridge, cupboards and a breakfast table. The windows opened for fresh air. The ceiling fan evened out the AC unit nicely. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, from the moment we showed up at the door and were met by the concierge. It's 15 min walking distance from the White House; other attractions are further and walkable, but also only 2-3 blocks from the Metro which we used every day - perfect for getting around everywhere. Lots of great restaurants and coffee shops nearby (good price range). Area vibe is also great - George Washington University is nearby.
It took awhile to get the room temp where we wanted it - the AC worked fine but the thermostat was confusing.

The great location, rental bikes nearby. Many restaurants within walking distance. Lovely shower. View of the park (have to order separately). With a little luck you can see the colone of the White House skimming by. Excellent price performance. Although cold because of the air conditioning in the small restaurant, you can eat well or order a simple breakfast. Super friendly staff. Tasty apples to take away at reception.
The air conditioning works well, but made a deafening noise in our room (702?) when it turns on. So turning it off at night is the best solution.

Loved the Hotel Lombardy! Great location, comfortable accommodations, and the staff was wonderful--very helpful, friendly, and professional. This is an "old school" hotel--if you're looking for sleek, modern, and stark accommodations, then this isn't for you. If you're looking for old world charm and service, you'll love it (which we did!). Parking was extra with great valet service--worth it. We didn't try the restaurant/bar, so I can't speak to that, but we were very pleased with everything else. Would definitely stay here again.
Some of the facility could be spruced up a bit, but we didn't mind. Staff more than made up for it!

The location of the hotel is excellent. Close to all the landmarks - just a short uber drive away! George Washington uni is right across. Within the vicinity of the hotel are excellent restaurants (I highly recommend the Indian at the corner) and pubs or a supermarket. Our suite had a "kitchen" but no plates or cutlery, so even preparing a salad came as a challenge. Nonetheless, it was super roomy and came with parking. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming, from porter to valet to receptionist. They would welcome you back as if you were a long lost family member. This makes a difference!
The bathroom was a bit small and the rooms were a bit dark. Wi-Fi was patchy. Breakfast was freshly made but quite expensive. While the hotel offered valet parking, it comes at a price, but it's a city so one just has to accept it.

From the moment of arrival, via the Metro and a short we were welcomed by everyone. You have a 3 block walk or so t9o the Metro, but all of the sites of DC are accessible, and the White House and the National Mall are an easy walk. I loved the boutiqueness of this hotel. We did not sample the restaurant, but we enjoyed the vibe and service in the Venetian Bar. The double room was spacious with small kitchenette, K-cup style coffee maker, wine glasses waiting (had we drank wine, which we didnt). Seperate alcove for closet and luggage space. Timelessness to the bath/shower, If any drawback, the water was HOT and not easy to cool it down with the coldwater faucet. So, if you like hot showers, you'll love this. Very small elevators (two). Great, great staff. Can't say enough about their hospitality.
Drinks will be expertly made, but they will cost you (as will everything else in DC). The vibe of the bar will offset that, however. This is a fabulous property. I can see it being a great couples getaway as well as a family stop. The price was exceptional for what we received in room, in the overall service, and in convenience to the main destinations of DC.

The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful (special mention for Nathan the barman, terrific guy). Food was well above the average. V good location, ten minutes from the White House and centre of town. Five minutes from two subway stations for those who prefer not to walk.
View was dull looking at the back of an office block. Air con was very noisy but necessary. Some bathroom fittings were a little dated. On arrival the safe was not working and the TV was not good. Both were quickly sorted. The wi-fi was very weak even downstairs and was unusable.
