I thought the location was great, very close to the metro station and within walking distance from museums and monuments. Coffee phenomenal. Breakfast could have been a bit less basic. Loved the complementary water availability to fill out bottles and glass bottle availability to take to the room. I think menu could have a few more choices, like more comfort food. The pizza was average. They ran out of cookies which were exceptional. The room, even though small, seemed very spacious and was very well decorated. Really liked the decor and functionality of it. It felt modern, new and very comfortable. The check in and out system was efficient and the staff was very helpful and nice

The location of this property was the biggest benefit to our trip. It saved lots of time when traveling around during the day; we typically took the Metro, traveled by scooter/bike, or walked most everywhere and we never found ourselves too far from the hotel. The amenities worked out great and while the room is definitely efficiency sized, it was very comfortable and had exactly what we needed. They've used the space very wisely and the technology really adds a luxury feel (i.e. the bed was still large and comfortable, the room had blackout curtains you could use, and we casted our own shows to the TV with ease). We didn't plan to spend much time in our room so we loved the value for the price, and we've looked into staying at other CitizenM's throughout the world now that we've seen how well this property worked for us. Also, while we didn't purchase the full breakfast package, we would stop in and get coffee every morning which was very affordable and tasted great. It's a big benefit if you need coffee in the morning because there's not many options around (none between the hotel and L'enfant Metro) and we found other shops didn't open until about 10am on the weekend.

There are so many things to liked about this place: 1. Location - this was the biggest thing in our list of criteria. We had a stroller wagon so we know we will be walking around National Mall. From location to Lincoln Memorial is around half hour, White House about half hour as well. Capitol Hill is about 20 minutes. Air and Space Museum is no more than 10mins to walk. 2. Place is clean and fancy. They have put so much effort into their interior design. It felt cozy and comfy. You can take really great pictures anywhere in the building and they would come out perfect. 3. Lots of fancy things you won't see in other hotels. Automatic blinds and lights, self-check in, cozy common lounge area.
Some things that we didn't like although it already came as expected: 1. Rooms were small but again it was expected. We have to fold our stroller to keep inside our room and take it out to unfold when we were ready to leave. We packed relatively light for a family with young kids so space was never a problem. Also, the space issue is easily solved by going downstairs to their lounge / common area. 2. Food options in the canteen was limited. Mostly it was appetizers and pizza. There's also no room service available which was okay for us. These things we didn't "like" are not a big deal but can be useful to manage expectations.

Never stayed with this group before. Knew nothing about “their” style. Booked only because of last minute change in plans, needed somewhere quick and location good in DC for us on top of which tariff for our room was very reasonable. Didn’t expect much. So a very pleasant surprise. Interesting “arty” hotel. 3 night stay. I’d say our room more suited to a single person on a business stay but having said that it was definitely okay for the two of us with our 2 large suitcases and 2 carry ons. Large and very comfortable bed runs the width of the room under a large window. Early morning light or night time street light intrusion not a problem as black out blinds excellent. Only comment (not an issue for us and a 1st world problem in any event) is that as a couple the first person into bed needs to go to the far side of the bed. En-suite facilities good. Ground floor bar area (doubling in the morning as breakfast dining room) good and breakfasts excellent.

A very inspiring design, well they are known for that. Fantastic location, walking distance to the national mall and most museums and attractions.
Besides the hotel restaurant, no many food options close buy, not even convenience stores or groceries if one needs anything.

Well situated, clean and modern look. Employees are the most kind.
Can’t pay cash. This makes it very costy for us from abroad. You pay with credit you have fees and a bad change rate when you have already pockets full of us currency. A bit annoying

The concept is great... Facilities and staff are exceptional... Restaurant in the lobby and the bar on the roof are really good.
The concept needs getting used too and the rooms are little bit smaller. Probably not for families with children

Great Hotel. Modern. High-tech. Rather small but very comfortable rooms. Quiet AC. Short walking distance from the wharf and the Washington Mall (Museums). Original experience!
The hostess, named Taylor, at the reception. She should be let go immediately. This is a high-tech hotel, even in its registration procedure upon arrival, where you need to use the hotel app or the lobby computers to check-in. I was struggling a bit in getting my room card activated. Taylor watched me struggle, did not offer to help, and made sure to let me know that I was bothering her when I requested her help. This is plain bad customer service and a real black stain on an otherwise great hotel in downtown DC.

The location of this hotel is excellent with easy access by car, to DCA, and the Metro. And it is within walking distance of the monuments and the wharf district (for us at least). The hotel is very modern and clean, and the staff more helpful than I typically experience in hotels.
The rooms are unusually small; however, modern with an efficient design. Despite the small size, our room did have a comfortable bed, a desk, and a surprisingly large shower. But there was access to the bed from only one side so whomever slept by the window had to crawl over the other person to get out of bed during the night. Most of the electric appliances in the room (lights, TV, light intensity and color, etc.) are controlled by an iPad. This took some getting used to. We really wanted to get a drink at the roof top bar; however, it was closed during our stay. The downstairs bar is nice but has a limited food menu. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel. This hotel does not provide daily housekeeping unless requested.

The hotel is so well decorated and the spaces are big enough to not feel crowded. The rooftop has truly a great view of the capitol. It has a beautiful bar and a colorful sitting area. Totally worth going up for drinks.
We arrived at 1:15 and were forced to wait 45 mins until check in. We couldn’t even leave are bags and go on with our day because we weren’t checked in. WE WERE ALREADY THERE and they knew we had booked this day, we should at least been able to leave our bags. So, the lack pf flexibility for checkicng in was the only bad part.
