The Ambassador Hotel was a GREAT location for the purposes of my travel to Milwaukee! It was my first trip to Milwaukee, WI and I couldn't have picked a better hotel. I came for the "Escape from Wiscansin Festival", and the hotel was right across the street from the venue that the hotel was held at -- PERFECT! I didn't have to pay for parking for the festival, because I received parking through the hotel. I loved how friendly the hotel staff was! The manager on duty the nights that I was there remembering my name and continuously checked in with my husband and I to make sure that we were having a great experience. We were a bit leery of the elevators at first (because of the heavy door) but overall, it was a cool experience and the elevators worked just fine! I absolutely loved the Cafe and the Bar/Restaurant -- the 95th anniversary chocolate cake was AMAZING! We ordered three slices and did NOT want to share with each other, hahaha. The lady in the cafe made my Starbucks drink perfectly and was very friendly! Overall, amazing experience! I'll stay at the Ambassador Hotel next time I come to WI. Thank you!

Andy was amazing, a friendly welcome and fast check in, explained all about the bar/restaurant etc. I was so tired after doing orientation with my daughter @MU, I called the front desk to see if there was room service. Not only did Andy come to my room and take my order, he also delivered my food to my room. That to me was such a selfless, amazing act of kindness and not at all part of his job. I'm sure he gets so many compliments but I just wanted to let you know what an amazing employee you have. Connie was so friendly during checkout, asking if everything was ok during my stay. She also made my return reservation for parents weekend in September, offering me the "Marquette discount" which was so sweet of her. I will be returning to your hotel for each and every stay over the next 4 years. The minute I walked into the hotel I loved the style and feel of the place, the old style was beautiful and the fact that there's a Starbucks was also an added bonus.

This historic hotel was fun. The retro decor was cool. Yes, because it is old, there are some quirks but the style and vibe outweighed the few inconveniences. We took advantage of the free shuttle and the drivers were very nice and accommodating. The room is big with plenty of space to spread out your stuff without tripping over it. We went to the bar at happy hour and had the signature drink, the Gin Rickey. It was super delicious and a bargain at the 2 for 1 happy price. Overall, our stay was great and we will return.

-Location was good, straight shot downtown on Wisconsin Ave and great if you're going to the Rave (right across the street)! - Free shuttle within a 3 mile radius of the hotel (please tip, our driver (Dave) was awesome! -Historic style throughout, keeping the common areas and rooms in tune with the building and it age; Although renovated!

-Room was efficient (read smaller) and although we booked a 'Queen bed' room, the bead was more a full/double. -Disappointed that they charge $20/night for parking at a $200/night rate but if you go there to eat dinner... you can park for free; Not very secure parking, anyone can walk into the parking garage (and didn't look like there was any security keeping an eye on the vehicles). -

I didn’t realize it was a historical building, built in 1927/29. Gorgeous art deco architecture. Loved the old school details and elevator. Room was super clean, quiet. Bed was ultra comfy. Little bar and coffee shop attached. But parking lot was only for restaurants patrons. So it was twenty dollars to park in garage overnight. Neighborhood had pretty buildings but not much else. If you have a car location is good. But not much to walk to.

No restaurants in walking distance. Neighborhood a little iffy.

If you understand the importance of preserving the best examples of Milwaukee history, this hotel is gorgeous example. The staff was welcoming and helpful. By no means is this is not a 5-star hotel, it does give you the feeling of being a special guest of the city.

Sports channel on tv. I like to have ESPN on all day and night when I am travelling. Not having that was kind of a bummer though I will admit it got me out of the room more and out to enjoy more of the city. BUT STILL GET ESPN

The room had a king bed, the room was clean and large I was happy with the size, the bar was nice bartender did a good job mixing our drinks, Connie at the front desk was very helpful with directions for places in the city, and the hotel has a shuttle van that takes you anywhere in the downtown area. Connie always had a smile was friendly and helpful.

The kitchen was closed, but I was told of a place or two that delivers in the area at night. And the shuttle van also can take you and pick you up from any place you may want to eat in the area.

The room was a very good size plenty of walking room, The shuttle service is nice and helpful they had 2 drivers we kept them going, I did not have to pay for parking in downtown area. Location of hotel is pretty good its on Milwaukee U Campus area, downtown, block from concert hall, and by expressway. Front desk personnel on days Connie was as helpful as having a map of the city.

For the first time I saw too much dust behind table and bed. On my other stays in hotel it was always clean. The clock in the room also didn't work.

Very cool 1920s Great Gatsby hotel. Clean, comfortable and super friendly staff.

They never cleaned our room, the room was very small and had lots of very large bulky not to theme furniture. We were charged 20 dollars a night for parking which was ridiculous and I wasn't even told I was being charged. I didn't even know until after we left and got a receipt emailed to me. The neighbor is a bit questionable but there is a nice fence around the building and garage.

signage posted said the kitchen was open to midnight and it actually closed at 11. Also the phone in our room didnt work so we had to call down to the front desk with our cellphones. Also did not read the amenities fully and assumed there would have been a fridge and microwave, but keep in mind they do not.
