January 2025
We stayed at property in mid January 2025. New owners since November 2024, and they are doing everything they can to set a high standard in service. Sincere compliments to Kathy and Lily for their warm welcome, liaison throughout and standing on the curb to wave us goodbye when we departed. Kathy had even prepared a take away breakfast given our checkout was early in the morning. We had a grand connecting room on Level 5 at the rear of the hotel, which was good in size, quiet and with good clean amenities. The bed was firm and two different pillows provided per person to suit your preference. The breakfast room was nice decor, clean and food was of a good standard, with a nice range of options, and the ability to order additional cooked items from a menu. The Wifi in room and throughout hotel was very good. The location was ideal in the Old Quarter, a short walk to Train Street, Lake Kiem, sidewalk shopping and restaurants. Only a 2 minute walk to the night market, and Don Xuan market in the daytime.
The only disappointing issue (and its very small), was one evening we wanted to stay in and dine upstairs at their rooftop bar/pool, only to be told the Chef had gone for the day and we could not get any food at 7pm. Its not a big deal, it just meant we had to venture out for dinner.

The location is convenient, the breakfast pho is delicious. Room is comfortable, clean, and quiet. Staff generally are polite and helpful
One member of staff looked over my shoulder whilst I wrote this review, pressed "10" for a score on my phone without permission and told me that if the staff gets a rating less than 10 they'll get scolded. She watched over my screen like a hawk to make sure i give the score she wants on every metric. I've never had someone emotionally blackmail me for a review before (and grant themselves access to my phone while they're at it!) I'm only giving a 10 because of all the other great people that served us at the reception and breakfast. To the management: Please don't punish your staff for scores. This causes them to pressure customers into leaving inaccurate reviews. The behaviour by this one lady is unacceptable. Left a bad taste in an otherwise pleasant experience

It's right in the middle of the Old Quarter about 4 blocks from Hoan Kiem Lake. The staff, especially Kathy & Jasmine, are extremely helpful and attentive. There are enough desk staff so that queries are answered pronto. The breakfast buffet is varied and substantial with eggs cooked to order. Rooms well soundproofed.
The roof top bar has just increased its beer price from 35K to 69K. Very high by Viet standards. There is no large lounge area where guests can mingle.

Great location! The staff were all wonderful and tended to our every need. The breakfast was also great. Honestly, everything we needed. Great value for money.
AC system is centrally controlled, so we weren't able to turn it off when it got very cold at night. However, the staff were very helpful in turning on the heating and giving us more duvets the following day. The bathroom could use a bit of love (the glass shelf was a bit broken) and hot water took a very long time to come out. They should definitely vacuum better underneath the beds, there was a bit of trash and dust underneath ours.

The Hotel was very clean and beds were comfortable. Shower was modern and clean. This Hotel was right in the middle of The Old Quarters and we could walk everywhere to the markets, train Street and was just a buzz walking around the area. Lots of food places and ate lots of street food. The staff were exceptional and attentive. Loved Lily and Kathy who bent over backwards to help us with anything. I also had a massage there, which was one of the best massages I have had in Hanoi. Always a greeting with a smile and a wave. Would definitely stay here again.
If I had anything negative to say it would be that the rooms are small so if you have a family in there could be squeezy. It was explained to us that there is not much land space in the Old Quarters and all Hotels are the same here. In saying that we went on a 2 night Halong Cruise and Lily said that we could leave all our luggage in the hotel and just take a backpack of what we needed for the three days. When we came back we decided to leave our luggage and what we didn't need in storage and had ample room. Considering we were out all day and just came back to relax ,watch TV and sleep, the room was fantastic. The hotel staff made it work.

Great support from the hotel staff. Nice room. Good sleep. Perfect location if you want to be in the middle of old Hanoi. I am used to 5 stars hotel but this 4 stars hotel is fine due to the support of its staffs, the location, the nice room. You will feel good.
Be aware that the hotel is in the middle of old Hanoi with undescriptible amount of noise, life , people, motorbikes.... You will feel overwelmed and scared the first day but will become addicted the following days. This is Hanoi. I would not recommend this place for young children due to the crowded streets with motorbikes and no useable pavements in the old city. The stress will be then higher than the enjoyment.

Everything! All the staff were amazing and helpful, a big part of why this place is so special! They create a lovely feeling every time you walk in and make you feel like a very important guest. We were greeted with refreshments on arrival and even as we wait for our drive to the airport after checking out, they provided us with a juice in the lobby. The room was super comfy and we slept solidly! Breakfast each morning was great and the rooftop bar was a lovely place to have last drinks on our final night in Vietnam, soaking up the view. The location is fantastic, with lots of great restaurants and bars nearby.
We didn't like having to leave!

The staff were so friendly, welcoming and enthusiastic. Room was pleasant and clean. International multi sockets by the bed. Room was of a modest size. However, that is probably very much the norm for Hanoi where space is at a premium. Breakfast was our favourite on our six week trip to Vietnam, with a generous choice of Western and Vietnamese food cooked to a standard that surpassed the majority of our evening meals. Great location in the heart of the Old Quarter.
This is not an exclusive comment to this hotel, but as UK citizens we found it a little irritating that some prices in the hotel were listed in USD rather than Vietnamese Dong, meaning we had to convert currencies twice to know the price of various items.

Our recent stay at Solare de Monte in Hanoi was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped into the property, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine hospitality that we instantly felt at home. The staff at this hotel truly go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels valued and cared for. They were incredibly supportive and attentive, making sure all our needs were met with a smile. What touched us the most was how they connected with our children, showering them with so much kindness and joy that our kids fell completely in love with them. This human touch added a special dimension to our stay, making it an experience we’ll cherish forever. The hotel's location is perfect—right in the heart of Hanoi and within walking distance of the city's major highlights. Whether it’s exploring the bustling Old Quarter, visiting the serene Hoan Kiem Lake, or diving into Hanoi's rich cultural tapestry, everything was just a short walk or a quick ride away. The train street, Ta Hien Beer Street everything is so close by. A special mention goes to Harley at the reception and Zoey at the travel desk, who was a treasure trove of information. They patiently guided us with detailed suggestions, ensuring we made the most of our time in the city. Their recommendations for local attractions and dining spots were spot on, and her insights made exploring Hanoi so much easier and more enjoyable. One of the standout features of Solare de Monte's is their rooftop restaurant and pool. The panoramic views of the city from the rooftop are quite nice, especially at sunset. The breakfast spread and the food quality was top notch. Above all, what sets Solare de Monte apart is the warmth and genuine care of its staff. They don’t just provide a service—they create an experience. From personalised attention to thoughtful gestures, their human touch made our stay truly unforgettable.

My friend an I really enjoy our stay at solare de monte cause you’re right in the heart of the old town of Hanoi, which ensures you are close to the various strongholds as well as the various restaurants in the old town. And I would especially like to thank Lily for the attention and help she gave us in order to organize our travel and excursions for us. Indeed, she organized all the logistics from Hanoi to the Ha Giang Loop and then our transport to Sapa, Halong Bay and our arrival in Nima Binh. So again a huge thank you to Lily for all the help provided and if you go to this hotel do not hesitate to ask her for advice she will know how to guide you wonderfully Rodolphe
