Occidental Costa Cancún - All Inclusive

I loved the lay of the land! It wasn’t hard to navigate! Common areas are very welcoming and entertaining! I loved how helpful the staff was!! Anything i needed was pretty much available! Food options were plentiful and Available at almost any hour (that i went anyway!) checking n and check out was smooth! Covid testing on site!! U can have your own party and not be interrupted!

I did not like how everything was on a strict time schedule! Like to get dinner reservations it must be made all at one time with the guest in a line going to get their names on the list! So clearly i never made the formal dinner! I did not like how in the room i could always hear the door slamming! I couldn’t hear ppl n their rooms but that door was loud! We developed ants and that was unsettling! There are limited activities here and no real rainy day schedule! Party was over at 12 when the hotel next to us partied until 2am! No drinks until 12 was underlying cuz i like a mimosa with breakfast! But these are fairly minor complaints to the overall stay! Overall the stay was great yet these are a few adjustments I’d like to see happen! I would stay here again

the bed, pool, beach, location, concierge people

Standing in line everyday to be able to book dinner in any of the three restaurants in the hotel. Going on holidays to a resort and having to wake up early in order to stand in line at 8:45am is not something I want to experience again (picture attached) There are more guests wanting to eat in their restaurants than the actual seats. Also, there was mostly only one kind of tea (black lipton) available, no minth or camomile, or anything other than black lipton (80% of time)

the room maintenance was in bad shape (door, restroom) TV volume and alarm clock .

Breakfast was really good, loved, and the location was ok the distance from the Airport was ok, is a place that I would recommend.

Nothing really..

Because is not a big hotel you can travel everywhere within minutes to the pool, restaurants. The food was awesome every day. The room was bigger that I expected with high ceilings. Next to us was the ferry to isla mujeres, a pirate ship show and the high tower where it goes 370 degrees round.

Well one thing that happen during our stay was that the elevator stop working and it was like that for a 1 or 2 days. Another thing I did not like was the view from my room. Above us it was the restaurant and you can see the roof top. (Not a good sight).

The hotel was great! a good location, it has a private beach that is cleaned up every morning, the food was great -, particularly the Italian restaurant which was amazing!!

The staff expect you to give tips for everything, and their service does change with this.

The facilities where clean and felt very safe to be. They have three restaurants too choose from, my favorite was the buffet which has more flavor and options to choose from. Italian food was my least favorite. Mexico Lindo was good for A la Carte food. The staff was okay they could be more friendly. The servers at the restaurant are very friendly. The photo shoot was awesome they have a good photographer. Overall it was pleasant.

My room personally smell like paint coming from the vents. Gave me the worst headache and felt dizzy. I wish they would off have music by the pool to have more of upbeat environment; everyone had there own JBL speaker bcuz it was dead around. Honest true the bar drinks are super super sugary. I know it’s all inclusive but the bar service sucks regardless if you tip. I had the best service drinks at buffet “caipriosca”. And the beach area I expected more; tiny space to swim. Pool area it’s just one huge 4 feet pool.

Everything about the hotel stay was great. It was exceptionally clean and staff was always pleasant and courteous. Good quality entertainment, fun pool/beach side activities and great gym. The checkin/checkout process was easy and pleasant. The buffet was very good and the restaurant food was outstanding. The beach is well maintained with daily removal of seaweed.

The location next to the busy the marina with a large ferry and four pirate ships was not great because of frequent diesel fumes on the beach. The restaurant reservation process should be moved from 7 am to 9 am or later, to allow guests to rest on their vacation.

The dinner buffet was fulfilling and I liked how there were a variety of options each night. The staff were super nice and respectful- they allowed us to play music wherever we went. The sanitation and cleanliness was exceeding my expectations.

The beach was a fairly small area and I feel like it wasn't impressive. The way to reserve a place to eat is a bit confusing and I feel like it would be better doing it online instead. Other than that it was lovely.

The pool was beautiful. The wait staff and entertainment staff were wonderful especially Alex and lizeth.

The temp in the room was not cold enough and it was locked at 71°. I wish there had been a few more options on the buffet, and the Mexican restaurant was not that good. You have to make reservations from 7:00-9:00am to get in.
