Excellent sleep : windows were double-glazed, so no disturbance, even though we overlooked the main road. Lovely shower room, spacious, and good sink size. We ate in the Restaurant, which had a great vibe, and the BEST Mushroom PIZZA I have EVER tasted!

The room wasn't huge, but very comfortable. We didn't unpack, staying only overnight.... but there is a cupboard to take clothes. I would've liked a stool or chair to set clothes out, especially in the bathroom - Only one towel rail to hold towel plus pj's, or another towel. The door to shower is quite large, and opens to 90 degrees against the toilet bowl, which could be awkward... But the shower is lovely .

Was delighted with the fact that this was more of a suite than a room, & had a small balcony. It is an old hotel that has been renovated nicely & the small living area with a desk was great. We enjoyed having a drink in the pub downstairs before going out for dinner. It is right on the tram line in the centre of town so a convenient location but, even on a Friday night, we were not disturbed by any outside noise.

Room was small so only room for a double bed. Bathroom also small. But for a short stay it was fine.

The location was my absolute favourite! The light rail was close and very convenient. The food at the restaurant was absolutely delicious and the drinks were great too. The outdoor beer garden was such a vibe with very friendly staff across the venue. Such great value for money. Would definitely stay again.

Brighter room than I'm used to while sleeping. Didn't realise there was a main switch to power lights. Shower leaked water. Absolute minimal things!

The bed was comfortable. The room was well equipped with a kettle, microwave, ironing board and hair dryer. So easy to travel when this is available, The check in fellow was friendly and helpful. The hotel was a fantastic location for our needs as we had a show to see at the Civic Centre. The restaurant and bar on site was fabulous!

The hotel needs a coat of paint - and when that happens there will be a lovely aesthetic to the place.

The Clarendon is right in the heart of Newcastle. Right near the river so you can jump on a pathway and go for a morning jog or walk. The rooms are spacious and it was like a little apartment rather than a hotel room.

If I was nitpicky, perhaps an option for breakfast! Also parking was a bit of an issue but in the city there is limited parking with hotels. Street parking is around or use the parking lot nearby for $$'s.

The hotel's location is excellent and the welcome was very friendly. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a good range of amenities. The wifi was reliable and fast. There was some noise from the downstairs venue but it finished at around 11 p.m

The hot water took quite a while to come through in the morning. Parking at the public carpark at a reduced rate worked well but it is a block and a half away.

this hotel was a great little find. we had an event at City Hall which is so close! The paring was closer than expected. the entertainment on Saturday afternoon was a delightful surprise to hear from our rooms. it was like a little unexpected personal concert! the food downstairs was amazing and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. we will definitely be returning!!

nothing.

The room was spacious, clean and tidy, the pillows comfy, the AC was nice and cold. For the price, the room was good. The staff were friendly and really nice, at both reception and in the food bar - really happy with their response and service - 10/10.

The bathroom was on the smaller side and did not match the decor of the room, but the shower head was otherwise nice. At the time, I had not realised this was a pub, I actually thought it was an older style hotel. I had not realised there was no parking on site, but you can at least park temporarily behind hotel to dump luggage and then drive and park. It is $20 per night. I would prefer parking on site, again, when I booked I clearly rushed my booking. Maybe because of COVID, there was not much around for breakfast and the restaurant around the corner was basic.

An iconic Newcastle Hotel, superbly renovated for a boutique stay right in the heart of Newcastle. Bed was super comfortable, the bathroom, balcony and room size super impressive and such good value for money. The overnight parking for only $20 was such a bonus. Right in the best location in Newcastle. 10 stars *** Amazing bar and restaurant, the food was affordable and such a great menu.

Room was spacious and location was perfect for attending a concert at the Civic Theatre. Meals are delicious downstairs and staff are excellent.

Bed was a little too firm but that's personal taste, others may love it. Take earplugs as there is are loud church bells nearby that chime on the hour all through the night.
