The central location was ideal for our few days in Newcastle over New Year. As we travelled there from Sydney by train, we used public transport (light rail, bus and ferry) over the five days - all very convenient and efficient. It was an easy walk to the supermarket and also to the waterfront with its bars and restaurants. The apartment was quiet, the beds in both bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the water pressure was fantastic. We decided we didn't need any room cleaning during our stay; however, the friendly housekeeping staff were very obliging when we asked for clean towels, extra toiletries and the removal of garbage.

The balcony was very small and as we were on the 5th floor, the view was underwhelming. The ceiling fan in the main bedroom looked as though it would fall when a high speed was selected so we kept it on low. We used the swimming pool and spa only once as the smell of chlorine was overpowering and the enclosed space lacked atmosphere. But then, with the great beaches nearby, that really wasn't a concern.

It was actually very quiet, which I was surprised about being on the 2nd floor and quite close to the noise/partying at nearby clubs/pubs etc. So that was nice. Oh and it was surprisingly very spacious - massive bathroom and great size kitchen.

There's not so much anything I didn't like, however there was one thing I totally forgot to mention to the staff when I checked out. Just wanted to mention it that's all - when I first arrived I put items in the fridge, and noticed there was a pool of water (about 30cm wide) on the kitchen floor directly in front of the fridge door. I placed a towel down to mop up the water and left it there thinking it might continue to leak. I don't know if it had anything to do with causing the leak but I did notice the fridge wasn't very cold and I had to adjust the temperature dial inside the fridge so it was colder. After a couple of hours I did notice that it seemed to have stopped the leaking coming from the fridge.

Our stay at the Quest Newcastle over the New Year period was nothing short of amazing. We stayed at the property for 2 nights and were so happy with the 2 bed apartment as it was very comfortable and clean. The beds were so comfortable even for our elderly grandmother who we had with us.

The only thing I would say is that there is no air-conditioning in the bedrooms, only in the lounge for the 2bed apartment which made it a bit hot at times but we had the fan which brought some relief.

Good location opposite Honeysuckle light rail. Pool nice and warm. Staff friendly. Rooms serviced daily. Big apartments compared to a hotel. The adjoining restaurant The Happy Wombat had really nice food and friendly staff.

Air conditioning in lounge section but not bedroom so gets a little warm in there but I guess it was 33 degree days.

The location is great, honeysuckle foreshore and restaurants are a walkable distance. Leisurely walk or take light rail to Nobby beach and Queen's wharf. The hotel staff is very friendly. What impress me the most is the staff even called me before check in to check what's the bedding arrangement we prefer, advise me about parking arrangement etc. The 2BR apartment we stayed in is very spacious!!

The beds are a bit too soft but again this is personal preference.

Large, clean and modern apartment in a great location, close to transport and restaurants. The young guy at reception (sorry, can’t remember name) was always very friendly and helpful.

The heating didn’t reach all the way to the bedrooms and there was nowhere near enough covers on the bed to compensate. Maybe a spare blanket in the wardrobe might be a good idea

Gr8 location for light rail, beach, cafes and restaurants. Comfortable accommodation.

Very disappointed about the noise from tenants ( 6 of them) staying in the room on the floor below us. They partied till early hours of morning. They were very noisy from late afternoon till 3am and they were inebriated. No staff to complain too. Not good enough when we were paying $380 a night. We expect a Night Manager to be on site.

staff were all friendly. The location was brilliant. Although we did not use the pool & spa we did go in and looked clean and I would use if we had more time. The Café underneath was brilliant for Breakfast, next time we would probably try the dinner there also.

The bed was awful for us. The mattress was too hard, It felt and sounded like you were sleeping on plastic underneath the sheet and the sheets were too stiff. Rolling over in bed was like rolling over in slippery news paper. We like a softer bed and this one was quite hard so we know that each person is different, so if you like a firm mattress then you will not have a problem. The paid parking is so squishy so go in with patience as the parks are tight! Myself and my child (who is in a rear facing car seat) had to get out and our luggage out of the car before my husband parked.

The two bedroom apartment was very spacious with a large clean kitchen and good bathroom and ensuite. The bed was very comfy and heated well with the air conditioning above the bed. Breakfast was delicious at the downstairs bar/cafe area.

The apartment was fortunate to have a large verandah, but it was quite dirty with autumn leaves and city dust and dirt.

We liked the roominess of the lounge and living space of our 2 bedroom apartment. As we only stayed one night, we can’t comment on the facilities available.

The decor in the living room of our apartment was a bit lacking. The bedrooms were quite stuffy so we left the window open during the night (we didn’t want the fan on). We could therefore hear the street noises (especially the late night revellers from the bar). My friends advised that the coffee from the restaurant wasn’t great.
