Newcastle Central Plaza Apartment Hotel

Good location, the apartment was very nice, open and bright. Lots of glass windows and doors made it look very spacious with a great layout. The manager at reception, Samantha did every in her power to accommodate us, she was lovely, any problems we had were responded to immediately.

The cleaning staff were very slack in their work, they let their hard working manager down. Things had a very cursory wipe down, if at all in some spots. Disappointing. As soon as we complained Samantha got them to do it properly. The furniture is very tired and worn, but comfortable. Even though we had these problems we’d stay there again.

We were very impress with the amount of space in the apartment. The number of toilets were a surprise and having a laundry room was a bonus. It was also good to know that access to the apartment and car park was swipe card access controlled giving peace of mind.

Lounge suite was a liittle worst for wear, the fridge freezer was functional but fading by the door handles and the laundry super tub was rusting in areas. The parking area is ample but getting the vehicle to the parking area requires a skillful driver as it can be challenging if you are not use to driving in tight areas.

Central Plaza in located within walking distance to the interchange. Market town, pubs and other restaurants/fastfood are close by. The staff are friendly and there is an after hours contact number. We checked in after 6pm - the instructions to access the key cards were clear.

The door to the appartement was not locking but was fixed the next day! The furniture and carpet are dated but overall the appartement is clean, spacious and comfortable. Lastly, depending on which unit you get you might be staring straight into the construction building next door! This was our 3rd stay and we will definitely come back again! The service is always good and the location perfect for a city stays :-)

The view from our room on level 11 was great. The beds were fantastic and the whole apartment was really nice. I had a look at the pool but we arrived later than expected so we didn't get a chance to use it, but it looked nice and the water felt warm (heated I think?). The bath and shower were really nice too. The reception staff member was really helpful (especially when my kids managed to get themselves stuck on the ground floor without the key to get back up in the elevator). Some of the other reviews said the car park spaces were really tight, and they are, but I managed to park our Hyundai Santa Fe without too much of a fuss. It would be hard to get out if there was a car next to you though.

For some reason we only got 3 towels for 4 people. I didn't bother mentioning it because we just shared. Also it would be important to note that getting from the car park to the hotel lobby area (main/mezzanine floor), you have to go up or down about 6 steps. This was tough with heavy suitcases and also my elderly mother struggled a bit. I didn't notice any other ways, but perhaps there were other options. Also the hotel restaurant was closed. I'm not sure if this is a permanent thing. We ordered in pizza and walked to a nearby cafe for breakfast, but it's worth noting.

Big rooms and space, double bathroom great. Kitchen had good cooking utensils. Location is not bad. Bit of walking to do. Comfy lounge.

The balcony floor was very dirty, my daughters feet were black after going out with no shoes. Dirt from outside stuck to shoes and got all through areas with water like the bathroom. This was very negative. One bed very uncomfortable and terrible pillows.

Beds were good, place was quite roomy, bathrooms and kitchen were clean and modern and well appointed.

No instructions for tv, wi-fi was difficult and not very good. Restaurant and bar advertised were never opened and we were told by residents they have not been for a long time. No information literature at all in apartment, eg., for either apartment or things to see/do in Newcastle.

It's nice and close to the shops and the things I needed to do. The apartment was nice and big. Over all will stay again.

Shower was hot and cold all the time when u pay this type of money don't be tight on the water. Didn't get a text message telling me how to get in I had to call for the information. No TV's in the bedrooms.

The location is a little bit away from the centre of town, but the light rail is very close by. The apartment was well furnished and the kids loved the pool. It was very affordable and the staff were friendly and amenable.

The bed in the main bedroom was very hard and the pillows very thin. I didn't get a good night's sleep.

Large and spacious well furnished apartment. The kids loved the heated pool. Excellent location and close to major supermarkets.

The lighting in the apartment at night was very dim in the living area and bedroom with no bedside lamps. It made it very hard to read a novel (a favourite holiday pastime).
