Hotel Wandl

Great Location! Beautiful hotel. Friendly staff. Conveniently close to the Stephanplatz metro station, the busiest station in Vienna other than the train station. Right behind St. Peter's Church so it was easy to remember how to find it.

The shower was a pain. It was cold to only have a small panel for a shower curtain. You had to aim the showerhead and your body a certain way to keep water from spraying all over the room. And the water in the shower never got warm; it was always lukewarm, I even tried a bath to see water would warm up, but no. It's a shame because the bathtub was really deep. The water in the sink got crazy hot though. Weird.

1-location is amazing fabulous fantastic in the center you have shopping street just round the corners yet away from the crowds Every thing is walking distance cafes pharmacies supermarket 2- staff are so kind and helpful 3 story of the Wandl family and how old the building there is a picture in breakfast room for mr & mrs wandl 4- very quite hotel lobby is small but cozy the room is specious yet very old furniture 5 breakfast is good but need additional items like pancakes &waffles

1- no coffee machine no iron & iron table so bring your travel steamer there is iron and iron table down near the front desk if you want but it was not convenient for me I have my iron Bring adapter for your phone it’s type f plug socket and it’s far away from bed 2- there was Maria day something it was off day last Tuesday every thing was close yet the hotel doesn’t inform us 3- the bathroom the shower in bathtub which is not good for old people to jump in to take a shower yet there is other rooms with walking shower make sure to confirm with hotel if you have knee problems 4-cleaning under the bed should emphasize too much dust All these comments easily fixed and it’s gonna be the best hotel in that area

The location of the hotel is wonderful ,right in the heart of the city . The hotel has a bit of character about it , the staff were friendly, I had a lovely good sized room and the breakfast was excellent, to set you up for the day .

Nothing major really, Vienna is such a wonderful location, any visitor will spend the vast majority of the time outside the hotel as well as eating out , given the vast range of excellent dining choices, so to be honest apart from a good nights sleep, a hearty breakfast and convenience, you are not lingering in the hotel too long , to find things to "not like"

Location is incredible. The top of the cathedral spire was visible just a few rooftops away, and there are shops, shops, shops galore! From here I was able to explore pretty much all of Vienna on foot, but the metro is <100m too. Room only had 1 window, onto a lightwell, but it was big and allowed in plenty of light (room was on the 4th of 5 floors). Blind, nets and curtains on the window. Reception friendly and efficient. Bed comfortable. Shower room bright and modern. Breakfast was very good. Building is architecturally interesting.

Coffee etc. at breakfast was from machines (can also be ordered from serving staff) - freshly brewed is my preference. Breakfast ended 10am Monday-Friday, 11am weekends. I wondered how dark some of the rooms might be, if they're lower than mine, or perhaps only looking out onto internal areas. Might be worth checking when booking.

The location of the hotel couldn't be better, allowing us easy access to all the attractions and amenities of the city. The room we stayed in was comfortable and clean, providing a perfect haven to relax after a day of exploring. Additionally, the breakfast served at the hotel was simply delicious, offering a wide variety of tasty options to start our day on a high note. We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Vienna.

The room we stayed in only had windows opening to an inner hof, which made it a bit challenging to get fresh air.

The room was big and beautiful with high ceilings, large bathroom and a great view. The location was just outside a busy square, perfect for walking around, but just far enough so the room was quiet. The hotel itself is an upscale hotel, with a great breakfast (including a mimosa bar, perfect for travelers)! If you can get a view, i suggest getting it, as it makes waking up with that view; breathtaking.

The only thing I didn't enjoy about this hotel is when my driver arrived at the hotel and asked the staff to notify me they were their, the staff said they didn't have a guest by my name, I almost missed my taxi because of the staff.

Hotel Wandl is conveniently located across the street from St. Peter's Church, and a few blocks from Stephansplatz. There is mass transit nearby, plenty of good restaurants, souvenir shops, grocery/convenience stores, and specialty shops. The hotel itself is clean, safe and very well staffed. The staff is awesome. There is a great free breakfast every morning. There is also a small bar near the lobby although we didn't use it. Our room was clean and comfortable and came with a small balcony overlooking St. Peter's. The hotel has interesting layout and I have to think it was either office space or an apartment building at one time. The staff is very helpful and will get you a taxi whenever you need it. This came in handy as we sidetripped to Bratislava and Budapest from the Hauptbanhnhof. We will definitely stay with Hotel Wandl again when we visit Vienna, and will recommend the hotel to my friends and family.

Nothing.

The location is perfect for a 2 to 3 days visit in the center of Vienna. All major facilities, shopping, underground, attractions, monuments, ... within less than 15 minutes walk. Moreover, the hotel is really of high level, leaving absolutely nothing to complain about.

Unfortunately, there were road works around the church facing the hotel, which occasionnaly was annoying (noise level, especially early in the morning). But this happens and the hotel can do nothing about this. A month sooner or later, there would have been nothing to complain about.

Excellent location in the heart of Vienna. The staff were so helpful and friendly. Went “above and beyond” in most cases in terms of helping with our questions. Good quality breakfast. We could walk to most places we wanted to see within a few minutes which was very important since we both have mobility issues. Quiet but also central. The dominant sound on the street was horses hooves! I would go back in a “heartbeat”!

Early mornings in hotel (from about 6 am) had a regular/rhythmic”banging” sound. Maybe mechanical? Cleaning? People leaving rooms? Laminate floor was “squeaky” Otherwise was very quiet during the night.

Location is great, right in the centre with everything accessible within 1-2 minute walk for food (restaurants, winery/tavern, traditional coffee houses etc) and for famous monuments as well. Room super sunny and even though in the centre, didn't hear any noise over the night :) comfy bed, and extremely clean, and kind staff. Didn't try the breakfast as usually eating outside so can't advise on this one :)

Hotels is Vienna are usually quite costly so you would expect to have at least a few refreshments in the room (just a kettle and few teas/coffees & a water bottle) which wasn't the case in this room, that's the little thing that could be improved :) Didn't ask the reception for it but maybe they could have provided some on demand.
