JO&JOE Vienna

The location is great, 5 minutes walk from the nearest tram station. There are many shops and supermarkets around. The hostel is sharing the same building with IKEA, which offered me the convenient option of a cheap and yummy breakfast. The facilities and the concept of the hostel are great, with smart and cosy common areas, the convenient shared bathroom (for when you don't want to disturb your roommates), the lockers for luggage behind reception (for an extra charge) and also the storage room (for free). The bedroom is very basic but nice, the beds are created to give individual privacy and also have storage compartments under, which can be secured with a padlock. The staff is very friendly and relaxed, willing to help at any time. I like that I had access to a hair dryer and to an iron when I requested for them. The cherry on the cake is the rooftop view which I'm sure that is much better during summer.

The breakfast is 7€ and quite poor, it should offer at least one option of hot dish (like varieties of eggs, omelette) so I skipped it. For the price of the room they should include one towel free of charge.

Very cool hostel. The private room was extremely clean, comfortable bed, super nice shower. I really liked the convenience of having both USB C and USB charging! The staff is friendly and really helpful (thanks, Igor, for all the tips!). The location is also unbeatable. The bar, restaurant, and rooftop were awesome and breakfast was delicious. The common areas are all a lot of fun and gorgeous.

Everything was good. I did find it a bit hard to locate the place especially coming in Vienna at night, but the location is really good anyways. The elevator was confusing, but they said they’d change that soon.

Very spacious rooms. Plenty of charging ports for USB charging next to bed. New shower and toilet facilities made for a pleasant experience. Nice rooftop terrace, which adds to the luxury of this accommodation. The location is 2 mins walk from train station, it is very accessible by public transport.

The kitchen facilities were lacking. There was no stove top cooker and the dishes and cutlery were minimal. There was a fridge, microwave and kettle.

Jo&Joe is in a wonderful location. Next to the train station, at the beginning of Mariahilferstrasse and a cat's leap from one of Vienna's nicest neighborhoods. The facilities are perfect, and because of the double living room, you can party with one, and if you want peace and quiet, you can go up one floor with a lovely space to chill. Plus, thanks to the glass elevator you can work on your vertigo:) During my stay, there were two fun party nights with good music. Furthermore, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and I would like to compliment Lena. She is a considerate staff member and pays personal attention to all visitors.

Unfortunately, you can't really cook in the kitchen.

Great location, close to transport links of tram and train. Room a good size. Good social areas.

Two female staff sat behind the front desk and laughed and spoke about how wet my friend was from the rain, unaware that we could speak German! This is whilst they both sat not doing anything and we waited for the male checking in someone else to check us in. This was not a friendly or great initial impression and was quite intimidating. All other staff couldn't have been nicer though. The private twin room if you opened the curtain was onto the corridor and therefore not fully private.

Great hostel, have everything you need to have enjoyable and fun stay in Vienna. Great location, tram and metro station 2 mins walking. Staff is super nice and helpful. There are a lot of events and performing during a week, great roof and bar!

The place is a great option for a weekend or a few days' trip. It's located next to a train/bus/metro station which is very convenient. There are quite many restaurants and grocery stores nearby as well. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. Added bonus is definitely a light and small storage space in each bed. The toilet and bathroom were separated which is a great idea. The only thing I would suggest would be adding some smaller lights around the room so that they wouldn't affect other people sleeping but would add a bit of light to the room if someone needs it. In general, a great place to stay and for a good price + there are a lot of events is someone's interested.

I generally enjoyed my stay in Jo&Joe. Space and privacy was not an issue to where I stayed at (10 beds). They have spacious common areas. Good water pressure in shower and tap water from faucet tastes fine. They have events at night which is entertaining to see. Location is perfect! Easy transport going to anywhere

I did not like how the sink is close to the sleeping area. I mean, you can't really stay in a hostel if you are a light sleeper. They only have a microwave (people do not clean this after use and looks like a mess, so I just went for a cold food) and kettle. Cutlery and plates are available for use. No cooking utensils or stove in place (not that an issue) I attended a drag show night, conversations are exchanged in German language. Would be nice if they can accommodate english language too to add versatility since this is happening inside a hostel where a lot of people are foreign

I couldn't wish more from this place in Vienna. It was the best value of money, and the location was perfect. The dorm room was very spacious. I was sleeping on the first floor so I had curtains. It was very clean, they really cleaned daily. Staff was friendly as well. For those who are with a car: I came on Saturday, so I managed to find a free parking spot nearby (weekends are free to park in Vienna if it is not central). And on Monday I found free parking just 11 minutes walking from the hostel. So I spent 0€ on parking. Keep looking, and you will be lucky :)

I believe you need more facilities in the kitchen: more plates and cups.

The concept! This place is so much more than a hostel! Definitely not skipping on the events next time I’m in Vienna. Superb design, friendly staff & a wonderful view from the terrace. Also really clean and spacious. Bonus points: I love IKEA, so being able to see it from above was somewhat surreal. The location is perfect if you’re travelling by bus, as the terminal is on the same U-Bahn line.

The mattress was much harder than I’d expected. I was OK with that (healthy, right?), but it could be a little too firm for others. I did hit my head against the plywood board… twice. Beautiful yet not entirely thought through in my opinion.
