Hotel Westbahn

Stayed for 6 days, didn't have breakfast, didn't turn on the TV, so I can't rate it. The location of the hotel is very convenient - a 2-minute walk from the Westbannhof railway station, from where a bus to the airport leaves every 30 minutes around the clock. Near the metro and trams, so accessibility to any area is good. The hotel is located near the city center, 30-40 minutes walk to the Museum Quarter. Although the hotel is at a crossroads, the room was quite quiet. The hotel has an elevator. The single room is small but comfortable. Comfortable bed, clean linen. Good hair dryer, wi-fi in the room worked fine. Welcome bottle of water upon arrival. The bathroom has good lighting, there is a mirror with magnification. Liquid soap on the sink and in the shower with an inconvenient dispenser - too much soap comes out at one time. The towels were changed as soon as I put them on the floor - I didn't have to change them every day. Bed linen was changed after 3 days. 5 minutes from the hotel there is a wonderful Viennese restaurant Pulkauthaler, where you can have a tasty and not very expensive lunch. The hotel staff is friendly and kind.

The downside is that there is no kettle in the room. Although the hotel states that you can always drink coffee, tea or chocolate from the machine in the hotel lobby at the reception, the capsules in the machine were not changed often and instead of chocolate or coffee there was water that passed through the old capsule.

We stayed in hotel in the mid November, when the weather outside was around +10C, and were afraid that we’d arrive to a cold room, but when we arrived the room was super hot, and it remained so during all our 3 days stay. Nobody turned heating off after cleaning, when we were not there, which we also thought might happen as some hotels do this kind of things. We were also allowed to check-in earlier, at 12 PM, as there was a ready room. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Hotel is in an old building, but it’s taken care of. The room was freshly renovated, neat and clean, only the bathroom doesn’t seem to have been renovated recently, but it was clean, which is the most important thing, imho. Upon our arrival receptionist let us know that the TV in our room did not work, but that wasn’t a problem for us at all as we wouldn’t have time for it anyways. We were leaving hotel around 10 am and coming back after 10 pm, so for this kind of stay for a traveling couple the hotel is totally worth its money and even exceeded our expectations based on the existing reviews. Hotel is also located in a great place next to the West train station. In 3 minutes you can reach a tram, a metro station or a train station from which you can go by the VAL 1 bus straight to the airport. The whole rout from Stephan’s Square took us around 15 mins. There’s also a nice restaurant, Pulkautaler Wienhaus, serving local cuisine right besides the hotel where you can have lunch or supper.

- The bathroom cabin leaked a bit in one place in the room 206, would be nice if it was fixed. - The hairdryer is weak and blows very hot air, so if one has long hair it will take long time to dry it up and it’s also damaging for the hair. - The ceiling light in the center of the room was very weak. - Wi-Fi didn’t evenly cover the whole room with good connection. - Mattress was not comfortable.

This hotel is nice and warm (I was afraid that it will be not warm in the room because of the energy crisis). it is clean and offers a good breakfast. stuff is very kind and friendly. location is great- close to public transportation.

I found the hotel very pleasant. Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by a kind receptionist who ensured a smooth check-in process. The building is conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Westbahnhof station (U3 and U6 metro + various tram lines). Additionally, the city center is reachable within 10 minutes. The room I stayed in was small yet cozy, equipped with all the essentials plus a smart TV. The cleanliness of the room was at a moderate level, which I found acceptable. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Vienna, especially if you rely on public transport to get around and are not overly concerned about the room's design.

However, there is room for improvement in the breakfast area. During my visit, only a few tables were available, and the lone staff member, a lady, struggled to keep up with the cleaning. This impacted the overall breakfast experience.

Great value for money! Nice, clean, spacious room, with some "flaws" but still it was OK for our 2-day-trip. Classic buffet breakfast (we booked it with the room), cold and hot sweet and salty dishes, everything was delicious. The hotel is 5 min walk from Westbanhof (U-bahn, trams), 8 min walk from Mariahilfer Strasse, 1 min from a grocery store, and a mall. So the location was absolutely great! There is no air conditioning in the hotel, but we knew that and it didn't bother us, just sayin'. The staff was really nice, especially László.

Everything was OK. Just one piece of advice for the company: keep painkillers at the reception. (I had a terrible headache and it would have been super nice to have one.)

Location was great, the staff was helpful. The room was clean. WiFi was functioning perfectly. In our room, the WC and the shower parts were seperate. The breakfast was both diverse and satisfying.

There was no chest of drawers in the room where we could put our suitcases on and open them. We had to unpack our bags on the floor. The list sent to the housekeeping staff was on the coffee table in the corridor. Isn't it a bit non-privacy for others to know who is staying in which room?

Great location - station with food court, pharmacy, starbucks, souvenir shop, Lidl, near. Very easy commute with metro, trams. Clean. The staff is nice and helpful, you can buy soft drinks, wine at the counter. Parking +25€ extra.

Only few cons: when you park the car, the registration desk lady each time has to open the door for you to parking, no direct doors between hotel hall and parking, so take everything from trunk not to disturb the ladies (though they are super helpful and nice). On very hot day (+33*) the fans/ventilators in rooms were quite weak, no ac.

The location is great,like 200 m from train,underground and busses and from Mall and Lidl and Billa supermarkets.The hotel is very clean. The people in the reception very polite and helpful. The room was nice,with fridge,everything was perfect. I am counting the days till the next holiday,I will go back and stay in the same hotel. The bed was very comfortable, the cleaning service of the room was everyday. For the money paid the conditions are more than excellent.

There is nothing negative.

The property is in a good location, close to the tram/metro and train station. There are supermarkets very close. The cleaning service was good, they change the towels regularly, the staff friendly.

Maybe it was only this room, but the light in the room was very low and it seemed dark; it needs different lighting. Also, the room needs a phone for being in contact with the reception in case of any emergency. There was no heating in the room, it was a bit cold.

The man who made check in is a very lovely, and kind person. Room was clean and big enough. Bed and pillow comfortable, great surprise with water and free coffee. Clean towels and cosmetics available. We loved localisation. Although it is not directly in the center, it is just nearby the big street full of shops and restaurant that continues to the center. Easy access by train, tram, bus or metro.

A lady, during check out spoke to us looking at other people. It was confusing in terms that we weren't sure if she speaks to us or other people.
