Hotel Golden City Garni

The location of the hotel is brilliant. It is located 2 tram stops from the main station (approx 10 mins). The staff could not do enough to help, even when we were being idiots and could not follow the really clear air conditioning guidance! We had two rooms, one for a couple and one for our son. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Both rooms had microwaves, fridges, and kettles. Both rooms had double glazing, which almost meant that any traffic sound was minimal. The bathroom had a shower, etc, clean and functional. There is also a number of restaurants, shops and a supermarket with minutes walks of the hotel. Also, a free continental breakfast was included. It kept us going for the day! On checkout day, the staff gave us really useful directions to get to the airport and even offered to let us store our luggage. The staff really were amazing.

There was a kettle, mugs etc however no milk or coffee was provided on arrival. There, however, a supermarket within a three minute walk, so it is not a big deal.

It was a nice hotel, with fairly good breakfast. Twice we had to leave early as we were leaving for a Germany trip and next time to Austria, we requested for an early breakfast and they graciously agreed and served by 7.00 AM. Also the hotel provides travel tickets at the same rate and converted USD or Euros to CZK. This made our life very easy. Rooms were cleaned every day and it was nice location with easy accesibility to city with trams just outside the hotel. Another good thing was, reception staff spoke perfect English and we had abslolutely no problems in communication.

Unfortunately we needed a large room with 4 beds and I think they had only one such room which was in attic / top floor and the sloping ceiling was too low at one side of the room and we all banged our heads so many times, it hurts even today. We are not used to rooms in attic as in our country it doesnot exist and we never stayed in any such room. If they develop a large room with 3 or 4 beds, large single families can take those. It depends on the availability of space.

Amazing location with good transport connections and a humming nightlife near by. Loved being away from all the tourist hotspots for a more normal pace of life. Plenty of fun bars in the area, one of our favourites was Necropolis but there are tons to choose from. The room was large and had a cute slanted ceiling with skylights and an awesome view of the tv tower. Best view I've had from a booking.com yet! Great size entrance and bathroom too - would aim to stay here again when visiting Prague.

The tiles in the shower were a little on the slippery side, a rubber mat could make this safer in the future. The breakfast was a little hit and miss only pleasing 50% of our party but it was cheap enough for what was on offer.

1. Closed to the tram station. Easy to go citytown and hrad. 2. The room is clean and comfortable. 3. It provides lots services, ex, exchange, tickets buying. 4. The staff are friendly. 5. Breakfast is nice, especially hot soup. 5. The hotel is near super market and restaurants, very convenient.

1. Close to the street, little noisy but fine. 2. I booked a single room and it's small. I'll book a double room next time.😊

The location was good for transport links - it was just a short tram ride to the main railway station. The bed was comfortable and the room had a refrigerator and mugs - no teaspoons were put in the room ( we had our own). Breakfast was buffet style and had everything that you could want.

In previous stays here the rooms have been really good. This time however we were on the fourth floor and one side of the room sloped down from the ceiling. I’m not tall but I kept banging my head on the two structural supports as I had to go past them to get to the bed. The skylights could not be opened to let fresh air in as they were alarmed and beeped when I tried to open one.

Check-in was smooth and reception were very nice! I appreciated the stay including breakfast and the bread was lovely. The room was more than adequate, clean and not noisy, despite the hotel being right in front of the tram lines. Overall, I had a comfortable stay!

Unfortunately the room was missing toilet paper and tissues. I had my own toiletries so I didn't need to ask reception, but it was a little disappointing to see basic amenities weren't there in the room. Also I know Prague has no restrictions when it comes to COVID-19, but I wish more was done to keep guests safe (providing more hand sanitizer stations, having cleaners wear masks and gloves, etc.)

Love this hotel. It doesn't try and pretend to be something it isn't, is in a great area and is great value for money for sure. The room I was in was huge for a single traveller. I welcomed being able to sit on comfortable chairs. Yes, there was tram noise but that's to be expected in a city such as this in a lot of locations. I'm an early riser so a latest check out time of 10am doesn't bother me, encourages you to get out and about.

As with other places I have stayed, for rooms at the top of the buildings a more efficient way of keeping out the light, fine for autumn/winter, far more of a challenge in summer.

The building of the hotel is old and very beautiful, the hallways and the lobby as well. They managed to put an outside elevator and not to destroy the authenticity of the building. The breakfast was good - a typical continental breakfast, nothing special.

The rooms need a lot of renovation. Everything inside is old but in a bad way - cheap old furniture and doors. In our room there was a kitchen, however you cannot find anything other than glasses - no utensils, no dishes, nothing ...

1) Extremely professional and courteous service by the staffs. I would like to share few instances: a) Hassle free check-in (a very polite and confident lady was there). We were provided with all the inputs and rules of the hotels. b) We asked at the desk(a senior man) about the details of central, he was not that comfortable with English but tried his best to explain us the details. Thanks! c) Breakfast is good (though my friend didn't like it). But it was super. You'll find a bunch of things. Some example like, three types of cakes, breads, boiled eggs, fruits ( inc. melons), juices, salamis, etc etc. Pretty basic but good to start with. 2) Multiple (more than 5) ATMs within 100 metres of hotel and numerous super markets. Excellent excellent location! 3) Lot of budget friendly eateries around the hotel. ( From Chinese, Thai to Turkish). 4) The size of the room was enormous with 3 beds. One double and two single.

Simply everything was perfect. The distance of the old town is 25-30 mins by walking, but it was nice to explore the streets.

Hotel Garni was "nothing special" I guess you could say, but they got everything perfectly right... and it was a lot better than I ever expected. Location was perfect, just a few stops from the main station in a trendy, fun neighborhood, with music clubs, beer, and plenty of late-night food available. Yet, it wasn't too noisy at night. View from the window was nice too, and of course it was very easy to get back to the train station for my morning exit. Service was professional, discreet, and non-invasive. Check-in took just a few minutes, and there were snacks and drinks to purchase right next to the check-in counter, which was perfect. I asked for a quiet room upstairs, and that's exactly what I got. Beds were very comfortable, mattresses firm and fairly new. Blanket was extra warm. Electricity was on the "key" system (key has to be in the room to keep it on, requiring you to shut it off when you leave), however, they smartly kept the fridge off that system so it continued to keep food and drinks cold while I was out on the town. Excellent! Bathroom was small, but all modern and new. Hot water was very quick, and the shower was designed so water didn't leak all over the place while showering. Towels clean and fresh, soap provided at sink and in shower as well. All around, just a really excellent place to stay, and I will keep it as my "go to" hotel whenever I'm in that section of Prague from now on. Very happy!

Absolutely everything was perfect. No negatives at all.
