Hotel Left Bank Saint Germain

This is my third stay at this hotel the past year---and it's become my home in Paris. Fantastic location in St. Germain, close to everything. Travelers should keep in mind, that this hotel is not intended to be the 5-star luxury brands in Paris, but more of a quaint boutique hotel within walking distances of Notre Dame, Louvre, the Latin Quarter, Pompidou Center, etc. The cafes and bistros are serviceable with a couple of the better ones (that tourists often visit), Benoit, Les Deux Magots, Cafe de Flore nearby. You can find live Jazz a couple blocks away at Cafe Laurent, or Rock N' Roll at Tennessee Bar. Luxembourg Palace and Park is nearby for a good morning jog. A taxi stand is on the corner for longer trips into the city such as Galleries Lafayette for shopping, Paris Opera, or Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Michelin Restaurants, but Uber works quite well in Paris. For me, nothing. Some travelers often remark about the breakfast, but it's just as serviceable as the neighboring cafes with a small selection of breads, meats, cheeses, and fruits. I think some travelers expect a buffet style like a Mega-Resort or 5-star resort.

The location of this hotel is exceptional, its right in the middle of Saint Germain and walking distance (anywhere from a 5 to 15 minute walk) from all the key landmarks (we took our toddler and managed to walk to most places, worst case used an Uber all very well priced). The staff are exceptional and upon arrival ensured we had a kettle, tea, coffee etc in our room, housekeeping every day to make beds/tidy/replenish etc. Room itself was exceptionally large, king sized bed and large single bed for child with good sized bathroom (and fantastic shower). The decor is authentic french renaissance so don't expect modern, it had a wonderful warm inviting feel with lots of things to admire / look at upon check in/reception.

The breakfast was continental and relatively limited, fruit, pastries, yoghurt and a little bain marie of scrambled egg & sausages (both days we had breakfast the bain marie was empty). All very tasty, fantastic coffee but I'd suggest getting to breakfast as early as possible and expect a relatively small overall selection of goods.

Good hotel at a central fun location. We got an attic room with an amazing view of Notre Dame and Sainte Chapelle. The room was small but comfortable, with nicer-than expected decor. Front desk staff is pretty curt but helpful as I guess you'd expect in Paris.

You were very much left to your own devices by the reception. Not much interaction. Felt more like an Airbnb!

RESERVED 2 ROOMS, on the 4th floor (4 PPL), & the bed in one room was bigger. Both rooms were beautiful, very clean and had a warm welcome feeling. Love the decor in the room and the French windows. THE STAFF we worked with was awesome. I highly recommend this beautiful hotel to all. Great location, easy walking to several different cafes and to the main street down by the Siene River. I would stay @ "Hotel Left Bank" again in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

For me, I would of liked a bigger room - a little more space, It was a beautiful room with the decor. but I'm are not use to such tiny quarters. But we adjusted, made it work. The breakfast was not the best for example; The eggs were watery and cold, and the sausages were cold too. the coffee and little cruersons were good. The lady was very helpful when I brought to her attention that the eggs & sausage cold. She kindly heat my plate up but then the sausages got hard. Lucky for us, there are several cafes down the block from hotel and we went to have Breakfast there at the LA BUCI, great place too. There is also an awesome bakery across the street from the hotel. AGAIN HOTEL LEFT BANK IS IN A GREAT LOCATION! IT WAS THE HEART OF PARIS FOR US!

The location was wonderful. The area was very lively, yet the room was quiet for sleeping. We were close to the Metro so could get around everywhere, but it was really the immediate area that we enjoyed the most. My family of 5 had two rooms, which were perfect for us. I was originally worried that the bed my husband and I shared would be a little small, but it was a queen size, which was great. The rooms are an older European style, which is perfect for Paris. They are very comfortable and cozy. The hotel was exactly what we were looking for.

Everything, the decor, the room size, the shower and tub were magnificent (the tub induced me to take my first hot soak in 30 years), the breakfast was very good, it had everything you would want for breakfast. The neighborhood is probably the most fun and liveliest in Paris. I booked it based on prior reviews and website pics and am I so glad I did. There are definitely more expensive, or more famous hotels in Paris, but none that offers all this one does. Do yourself a favor,, book the Hotel Left Bank.

Breakfast was excellent and location superb for easy walking to main areas as well as close tube station!

No complaints at all.

The location can’t be beat, we could walk to everything and transit less than a block away. the room was clean and though cozy, it was perfect for what we needed. Even facing a busier street, once the windows were closed we couldn’t hear anything. Breakfast was a great selection and the two breakfast attendants made sure things were constantly restocked. The housekeeping was wonderful, each evening we came back to a clean room and bath. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone and would stay again!

Excellent Location close to all main sites. Situated in a very vivid neighborhood with countless bars and restaurants. Pet friendly and easy going staff. Relatively quiet room considering the busy location.

The furniture was charming but not very practical for the size of the room. The capboards take a lot of space and make the room feel cramped.
