Hotel Magenta 38 by Happyculture

We managed to get a room on the 6th floor on the quietest side of the building (as requested). Staff was very kind and friendly all the time (huge thank to Veronique - I think this is her name, apologies if not - she was amazing during our stay always trying to help us with any requests, visits, information, etc.). The hotel is really nice, well decorated, nice facilities, good breakfast range and the room was big enough (especially considering the standards in Paris).

The only negative thing I would like to mention is the fact that the bedroom needs some TLC. The bed back is scratched and some of the walls/ceilings need to be patched/painted. The heating was also not very strong but in the end we managed to keep the room 'warm'.

The location was great. There are several metro stations and we used all of them. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable. You can always have tea or coffee in the lobby and it's nice. The breakfast was very nice. Coffee machine makes perfect cappucchino. The lady in the breakfast area is superpolite and works superfast.

First 2 days we were freezing. We couldn't use the AC to warm the room. When I complained to a manager she explained that the hotel switched to 'summer mode' and the AC were switched to cooling mode only. That was disappointing because we didn't have either warm clothes or slippers. The manager offered more blankets, we didn't need more. Next day we received slippers and we felt warmer.

The room was stylish, and we enjoyed the beautiful courtyard view outside the large windows. The beds were comfortable, and the complimentary pastries and coffee in the lobby were appreciated. The hotel staff were all very polite and helpful, and most spoke English very well. The location of the hotel was a short walk to Gare du Nord.

Our room was right outside the elevator, so in the morning when the other guests were heading downstairs we could easily hear the noise they were making. I wish that in the bathroom there was a shelf or some counter space near the sink the set toothbrushes and cosmetics on. The elevator was very slow, so when we didn’t have luggage we often chose to take the stairs instead.

The view from the room, although streetside, was very good. From the sixth floor we could see Sacre Coeur at night and the tip of the Tour Eiffel. We only had breakfast once, but the selection was varied and the fresh coffee good. Our room although small, was comfortable & had most of what we needed. The location was excellent being just a short walk from Republique & the nearby Canal St Martin. It was also only a 20 min walk or two stops on the metro from Gare du Nord. The hotel staff were attentive, helpful, friendly and charming.

The room was on the small side, even by Parisian standards. We lacked a second bedside light. Due to local disturbances at the time, it was too noisy to sleep with the window open. The basement breakfast area, although clean & well organised lacked any ambience & felt rather claustrophobic.

Staff very friendly and always available to provide help. The Premium room was quite small in size, but acceptable. Comfy bed. Great continental breakfast with good variety. Amazing they provide free water (both still and sparkling) and free coffee anytime in the reception. As for the location, very easy to reach other parts of the city through 4 different metro stations near the hotel. There are also several interesting places to eat in the area.

In the breakfast, would have loved to find something a bit more seasonal than apples as fruit and maybe also bacon. Instructions on how to properly action the AC system in the room would have been helpful. The hotel is located in an area that, especially on some streets, can look a bit rundown.

We had an amazing time staying in this hotel. The location is great, staff is so kind and outgoing, also we took breakfasts and were really pleased with them.

Booking in was simple and the desk staff were very helpful. The room was clean and plenty big enough for myself and daughter. We had a room overlooking the main road but were not disturbed by traffic noise etc. The breakfast was ample and there was plenty of choice and the staff were friendly. The location was only a 14 minute walk to the Gard du Nord and we used the metro system many times during our stay with no problems at all and at a reasonable cost. This meant we had easy access to all the usual sites. There was a shop opposite the hotel which sold everything you might need (bottle openers!). As we had to vacate our rooms by 11.00am and our train home was not until 6.00pm, we were able to store our luggage free of charge at the hotel securely which meant we were able to enjoy the last day without having to walk around with our suitcases. All the staff were friendly and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Although the room was cleaned daily, I would have liked clean towels, but then I didn't ask for this and probably would have been given some if I had asked.

The hotel was in a quiet location and considering it is near road I heard nothing at night. There was air con in the room and good shower and bathroom facilities and the beds were very comfortable. Great location next to metro lines and the main Gare Du Nord station, but I also used Uber and they were great. I cannot fault the hotel and the football table and free sweets were a hit with my son too. Outside the hotel, be careful of the bike and scooter lanes before the road. People move fast on those things. Some homelessness nearby and in main area of Paris as expected of a big city but need to be careful with bags etc.

Amazing location, view and service, we stayed in room 503 (with a balcony) and it seemed that if you opened the balcony doors, Paris was right there with you. In the evenings, you can even see Sacre Cour lit up. Often hotel rooms are difficult to tell apart and do not reflect the actual city you are in, not this one. Breakfast was reasonable for the cost, our toddler could not get enough of the croissants. There are basic (and delicious) French breakfast items and also some beans, sausages and scrambled eggs, if you get tired of them. The hotel employees were friendly and helped with all requests. In the lobby there is free coffee based on espresso (so it's better than usual) a nice courtyard, free water and fooßball table. The location is near enough to Gare du Nord and Gare l'Est to walk there and from major metro lines at Republique square. Lot of great food all around to eat out or order via Ubereats etc. Also if travelling with children, good to know there is a nice playground for children in a park 400m from the door. The TV supported Chromecast, so you can stream your own shows on a rainy day.

The elevator was a bit small and slow, but then again we were on vacation so there was time.

The rooms were so modern and comfortable.The thing I loved the most was our balcony view.It was so pretty to wake up and see the beautiful buildings and many many trees.Not only that but the room was so quite we could sleep many hours without hearing anything.Also the pillows were so comfortable to sleep on.Literally the best hotel I’ve ever visited.Also the coffee was free something you won’t find easily.The staff was very kind and always smiling!

In our room the only problem was that in the bathroom there was a low water pressure shower head.So the water wascoming out of the shower head slowly but that was all.Not a big of a problem.
