Holiday Inn Paris Gare de l'Est, an IHG Hotel

This was such a good find for the value I paid. Right opposite the station but doesn’t feel as though it kills the vibe. Our room was lovely and all that we needed for a few days here as we was out most of the time. Lovely and clean, air con and amenities. Overall was really happy and easy to commute about over Paris on the metro from here could get to the main attractions easily and Disney land in about 45 mins .

Outside the doors there seemed to be a different array of homeless people staying during the day & night, which as 2 girls can seem a little bit scary when approached. The area is a little outside the main part but easy to get into, just be careful walking around of a night time in this area particularly.

The location right opposite the Gare De l'Est was perfect for train travellers like us. The metro station is literally outside the hotel entrance, Metros reaching anywhere in Paris with max. 1 change, lots of nice eateries in the local area. The room was clean and neat and comfortable. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, free luggage storage on the day of checkout was no problem. Free wifi worked fine and was fast.

There was a surprise extra charge on the credit card bill, 50 Euro per reserved day. This was refunded on the day of our arrival. But still caused a bit of initial anxiety. Overall price for the accommodation seemed a bit higher than usual. But that's more it less a general thing in Paris.

The staff was friendly, hotel was very clean, breakfast was very tasty. The location was good. Hotel offerred free storage of the luggage before we could check in and after we checked out.

We were not informed before that the hotel has to block the full amount on the credit card for the whole stay upfront, including the 50 euros per day deposit and 15 euro per person per day for breakfast regardless if you were to take the breakfast or not, this was not an issue but was very confusing since the price on internet was lower and on arrival the hotel blocks a much higher amount. I was advised the refund of the depsit will take a couple of days Also we got a very small room so was difficult to open our luggage.

If you want to stop by here from the train for a night, it's a great location. The hotel is fairly clean and good price. All European bathrooms are tiny, but this one is adequate for a quick stay. Of all the places we stayed in Europe (France, Germany, Austria), the pillows were most comfortable.

Don't walk around the neighboring streets, though, as they are extremely sketchy and not conducive to feeling safe. I didn't purchase breakfast because the for the price, I won't get enough value (I am not a big morning eater).

The staff personnel were exceptionally pleasant. Great customer service all around. I can't say too much about breakfast since I never attended, but family members say it was alright. The rooms had nice decor. My room was bigger than expected so I liked that. One thing I have to say is that the tubs are super high and can be a challenge for some people getting in and out. Also, the shower glass is halfway, so there's always a puddle after showering but not a deal breaker.

The location was horrible. There's a bus stop right in front of the hotel, so there's always people standing. The gare de l'est station is across the street from the hotel. So it's convenient to travel through metro, 5 to 7 stops away from Opera. So, getting to the Louvre museum is not challenging. At nights the hotel doors are locked for safety. That says a lot. There were weird people lurking at night. One night, we witnessed a fight right outside of the hotel, and cops were present. So that was scary. If it wasn't for the location, I'm sure it'd would be a higher grade hotel.

The holiday inn gar de lest was an amazing hotel the rooms and beds were very clean the room contanined a tv and complementary tea coffee and a coffee maker and the rooms were very clean. The staff members were probably the nicest I’ve come across at the reception Adrian is a very nice and helpful staff member he also helped us check in and out and gave us extra cards to open our room when are ones weren’t working. Another member of staff that was at breakfast duty was very kind and helpful I couldn’t catch his name but he was a Asian man.the lobby is very nice and clean and has nice calm music. The breakfast was lovely and contained lots of French pastries such as croissants pan u chocolates baguettes and meat eggs and other things. They also have a halal meat section for Muslims. They are also opposite of the gar de lest train station which really helps you go to different landmarks. There rooms are also equipped with a nice balcony which gives a nice view. All in all I really enjoyed my stay at holiday inn gar de lest I hope to be back soon.

I only thing I would say is too add a few more halal options on top of the other halal opptions they already have.

The location was excellent if you travel by Eurostar, being one metro stop, or a 5 minute walk to Gare du Nord. Metro Line 4 is a useful line to lots of interesting places, and its Gare De L’Est exit has an entrance outside the hotel. Staff were highly professional, friendly, efficient, and hospitable: a big shout out to Adrian and the young long-haired chap whose name I’ve forgotten. The hotel offers few frills, but it’s great at what it does, and I found it excellent value-for-money. The room was perfect for me: great walk-in shower, large, comfortable bed, spotless. The air conditioning was welcome given the temperature outside.

For some, the room size could be an issue, not for me, however.

In front of a metro station (Gare d’Este). There are a lot of restaurants and cafes around hotel.

Every day I’d call reception to add more towels (I booked a 4 people room, but they put only 2 or 3 towels).

My husband and I stayed in this hotel in Paris for 5 nights in the first week of August 2023. We traveled to Paris from the United States. Access to subway, bus is very convenient and close, there are many restaurants around the hotel. The hotel breakfast was very good, especially good French cheeses were served. And most importantly, they had very, very good and skilled reception staff who helped with the transfer of passengers and guidance for any kind of questions the passengers had, especially Mr.OUSSEYNOU . In terms of location, the hotel is not located in the high-end area of ​​Paris, but overall, my husband and I were satisfied with our stay in that hotel.

Receptionist were outstanding. Samuel and Ishmael. Hardworking but always with a smile on Their faces. Were very professional, friendly and helpful. Rooms were not right when we first attended as wanted single beds in each room. However, accommodated our request to change. Beds were amazing. Had a good night’s sleep. Would like to know what kind of of mattresses were in beds :-)) Excellent location- across road from Mainline station. Lots of places to eat food. Excellent value for money in Restaurant immediately next door to left of building.

Smaller Rooms could be extended a bit more. My friends room had x2 beds in Then where they felt needed to be a bit space.
