Economy Hotel

Amazing attentive staff on reception, nothing was ever too much trouble to ask in reference to where to go and how to get there. The room was a good Size , clean and comfortable , it was slightly dated but this was not a problem. The location was great , it was only a 10 minute walk from Monastiraki Square station and a 5 minute walk from Omonia Metro station. The housekeeping of the room was excellent , there is a safe which is 10 Euros deposit to use which you get back upon check out. You do have to leave your key at reception when you leave for the day and collect it from reception when you return, this is completely safe to do so and i had no issues with doing this. Great shower pressure and temperature in the bathroom although a suggestion would be a door or screen fitted instead of a curtain. I did not eat breakfast so cannot comment on the food but it did smell nice. I would return to this hotel if i visit Athens again. Thank you for a wonderful stay

The location can be a bit strange at night, this is in relation to a few homeless people and drug users hanging about just be attentive and be sensible and you will have no issues at all. the road opposite is busy and city hall is a 1 minute walk and there are always police hanging about so its safer than it seems. I went here solo and i had no issues with the area at all. The TV had no channels in english but this is a minor issue

We chose the hotel for its location and the fact that breakfast was included. The breakfast variety was excellent and appreciated that there were plenty of healthy choices. The hotel was impressively clean. The best part, though, was the staff. The reception staff were cheerful and kind and went out of their way to be helpful before we even asked. We will be back.

No complaints

With the money you pay, you get a clean and thanks to double Windows a quiet night's sleep. Although the surrounding streets might seem a bit dodgy, the Economy Hotel is at perfect location for discovering the Plaka, Monastiraki, Syntagama area. The staff was very kind, breakfast is basic with a selection of breads, cereals, fruit etc. and drinks.

Economy Hotel is in very center of the “real” Athens, next to the market and lots of shops, caffes and Tavernas. Walking distance to Acropolis and many other “must see” attractions, and to the Metro (getting you easy to and from the Airport, Piraeus, etc.) as well. Extremely friendly staff, each and everyone are going out of their way to help and make you feel comfortable. The rooms are small, but spotless clean, as is the rest of the hotel as well. Breakfast simple but wholesome, fresh and tasty. We have been returning many times to this hotel during the years, and hope to do so also in the future :-)

The rooms could have been bigger, but for she price we pay, we can not complain.

Location was superb -- a few blocks from transportation hub, Omonia Square, and just off Athina Avenue, which offers a fantastic selection of eateries, and quick access to the Monastracki area-- with the best collection of restaurants in the city, plus quick walking access to the Acropolis The breakfast was an unexpectedly great surprise -- such a large selection of tasty treats, and offered as early as 6:30 am, which is rare in Europe. Really gets you started right. I wasn't expecting anywhere near this big a selection of great morning food included in the hotel price. Also, the staff is so personable and helpful. A week after our one-week stay, we returned to Athens for an morning and afternoon between our cruise and flight departure. They encouraged us to park our luggage there, and even remembered our room number from the week before. These folks go so far beyond what I expected.

The only disappointment was the refrigerator promised in the room. This device looked like a refrigerator, but doesn't make things cold. If something is already cold, it will help keep it cold, but don't expect it to chill what you put inside. It's pretty useless. We all know what a "refrigerator" is and does, but this hotel applies that term to something which doesn't fulfill the promise of a real refrigerator.

Staff were amazing and very knowledgeable about the tourist attractions. The room was great - air con, mini fridge and bed were excellent and lots of space to put belongings.breakfast was amazing and very good location, 8 mins walk down a main street with restaurants and cafes to monastiraki square and metro station

I was on the 8th floor and just under the rooftop outside area which meant chairs scraping on concrete luckily only until around 1030pm at the latest but would have been better to have a room on a lower ground in case other guests are not as considerate.

Great friendly and informative reception desk. They are very friendly, and make you feel you are welcome at this hotel. Only for that, Economy Hotel is worth staying. Apart from that, the rooms are cleaned daily, and the bathroom and the rest were spotlessly clean. + Pillows comfy. + Location great. + They kept our luggage for free. + They were prompt with the online questions we asked.

Wifi is virtually non existent, it was like dial up days. Whatsapp calls (with or without camera) were not possible. The breakfast was not the most exciting one, tough we always left the table full!

It's a basic hotel; there is no luxury in it. However, it's an excellent value for money. Moreover, they clean the rooms, change linen and towels every day. We stayed 4 nights and the cleaning service was excellent. There's no kettle in the room to make tea or coffee, but between 9 am (or earlier?) and 9:30 p.m. one can ask for room service. The room service brings you the cups and a pot of boiled water or tea/coffee if that's what you have asked. There's also breakfast in the morning, with the same selections every day but enough choices. The reception desk staff are all knowledgeable, friendly, and very helpful. The location is convenient for everything: metro, archeological sites, train station. We walked from the hotel to Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora and the Ceramics Museum.

the air conditioning is very powerful, so it blows cold air really hard even when the fan is set to 'low'. So I would get chilly, stop the AC, then it would quickly feel stuffy (we stayed in July when it was +40 Celsius outside)

Very friendly and welcoming staff. The room was spacious and the air con worked well. Bathroom was modern, the shower had good pressure and temperature control. The location was great, we could walk anywhere within the centre easily. The breakfast was nice. The room was cleaned daily which was appreciated (though folding/picking clothes up from the floor seems a little unnecessary and some people may have an issue with this).

We got twin beds, despite booking a double room. Towels were changed every day even though we hung them up. Though this was nice, it seems a little wasteful.

This was my 3rd stay in this hotel in 1 month. This time we were given a room on the 6th floor (607). It had double patio doors, which minimized the noise from the street. The view from the balcony was not nice (facing a rather dilapidated apartment block), but this didn't bother us much. There was a mosquito screen and the shutters to block the light at night and have good sleep. The air conditioner was gentler and quieter than in other rooms, so it was great. The room was very clean, with perfectly clean linen; fewer scuff marks on the walls (practically none). Everything worked well. All the reception desk people I have met in this hotel (at least 6) were super nice and super helpful. They know everything a tourist may wish to know. The breakfast hours are great 6:30-9:30; room service is excellent. For a non-luxury hotel of this class, this is a wonderful place. We came around 10 p.m. from the ferry on Saturday and even at that hour, we could find coffee shops, street food, and grocery stores open. We walked to Monastiraki, to the Archeological Museum (a must!)

Everything was fine. I am grateful to the staff in this hotel (receptionists, cleaning ladies, room service, people who cooked breakfast).
