Herodion Hotel

We love this hotel! The staff are friendly and helpful, the bar is cosy, especially when they light the fire, the rooms are comfortable, classy and clean and the location is fantastic, just round the corner from the Acropolis museum and with views of the Acropolis from some of the rooms. I am learning greek and all the staff were very patient with my attempts.

This time our room was just above the sliding entrance doors to the hotel, which we could hear opening and shutting throughout the night on the first night. The second night, we had enough in the bar not to notice.

The location is very close to the Acropolis. Breakfast had some local products (olives, cheese, yogurt) and pastries but was always very busy. Staff was very nice and courteous, ready to provide info and help.

Rooms are very small, bathrooms can only accommodate one person at the time. Everything is a bit crammed together. The breakfast was always very busy and rather loud as the room is very small. Would be nice if the breakfast area was extended towards the bar of the hotel. The hotel blocked a guarantee on my card and it took more than a week to have the money released. The hotel should release any amounts immediately upon check out.

Overlooking Acropolis so what's not to like; some great restaurants nearby- we loved walking around Athens. Rooms a good size and well kitted out with plenty of hanging space. Breakfast is good all self service which works well.

Shame they didn't open the top bar on the fifth floor either for breakfast or drinks- it's a great space and might have missed a trick. only thing about the rooms was temperature control- we left the patio window open to regulate the heat- otherwise all good.

The location between the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum was perfect. And our courtyard room was quiet which was why I had booked it. (Many reviews of hotels in Athens complain about noise from local bars.) The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was the best we had across 10 hotels in Greece with many choices.

The main issue was that the bathroom was quite small; I banged into the open door several times. Also, the hose in the shower did not give good pressure and the drain must have been clogged, because water flooded over the sill onto the bathroom floor. Fortunately, the pressure from the overhead shower head was very good. The receptionist at the front desk did take my comments about this seriously, and I expect that the hotel will fix the issue.

Everything Position to area was all walking distance. Nice quiet area but so close to all you want. Staff were very friendly especially at front desk. Rooms were spacious for Athens. They were immaculate. Breakfast was the typical but plenty of it. If you were late didn’t matter across road two great coffee shops Best of all rooftop bar and restaurant but a must to book. Locals go there to and thats because of the magnificent view of the Acropolis rock and buildings.

Everything about this property was great. it’s in a fabulous location, the breakfast was wonderful, the staff simply amazing. On top of that, the ease of everything from grabbing a quick bite and having it simply added to the room bill, (upon my request,) to having the metro stop literally around the corner, as well as the acropolis. I also asked the desk where to find the closest ATM, and she directed me to the metro station due to it being a bank’s ATM, and the actual current exchange rate, not one of the street ones that are at 26%, plus the added safety of the guarded station. They have a rooftop bar/restaurant that has an brilliant view of the lit up Acropolis at night. take advantage of this opportunity! The staff also arranged transport to and from the hotel from the airport and the port. I highly recommend having the transport from the airport!

I hate this question because you feel like you have to say something. If you find something wrong with this place, you’re just searching to answer this question. You should probably take your pampered self to The Ritz.

Location was superb for a 3 night stay. All sights and transport were easy to reach. The hotel is warm and inviting, staff friendly and accommodating, rooms clean and comfortable. One of our rooms was upgraded to an Acropolis view which was a bonus! Breakfast has a good and interesting range of food and drink and we ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was delicious. Highly recommend staying here.

I must say that at one point I changed rooms. One room was very dark and the "deck" was in a stairwell. When I changed rooms (upgrade in price of course) the room was spectacular. The lobby, bar and restaurant spaces were amazing. The staff could not have been more responsive and attentive.

Nothing really. Except when I changed rooms and left a nice comb in the first room it was never recovered and returned to me. No big deal.

Very nice room (standard, but a surprisingly sized), comfortable, clean, fast wifi. Wide breakfast range, well presented. Also tasty food from the restaurant. Very well located next to the Acropolis museum and a few minutes walk to the Plaka, plenty of dining places around, just a bit further walk to central Athens shopping.

Very minor grumble - the orange juice could have been nicer.

The hotel was great in all ways! Perfect location for us, so close to the Parthenon and the Plaka. The hotel was very clean and the staff very professional and friendly. The breakfast was magnificent. The location was also easy to get to on the train from the airport. Just one quick change and then a short walk from the Acropolis station! We will definitely stay at the Herodion again the next time we are in Athens and refer our friends there as well.
