Coco-mat Athens BC

The hotel lobby and dining area is beautiful. The rooftop pool is an awesome area but as its rather small, even at less busy times it's unlikely to get a spot unless you're up there early. The breakfast offered a great selection. The team were incredibly friendly and helpful as we had a few issues. The location is super!!! And the beds might be the comfiest beds on the planet!

Did not enjoy the last occupants swimwear hanging from the window handle...made me question how thorough the cleaning was. The lighting in the rooms are poor. This means having the curtains open for everyone to see in. Cleaners forgot to replenish our towels getting caught sort in the shower was not fun. Shower didn't drain well so the bathroom was wet. We did mention this to the team, who kindly knocked €20 off our bill.

Hotel is in a great location for sight seeing. Close to restaurants and shops, super friendly staff :-)

We stayed in a double room with a museum view and balcony. Considering it is listed as 5 stars we had been expecting a bit more luxury in the furnishings . The Bathroom layout is a bit interesting, separate toilet, separate shower room and the sink is in the bedroom, not sure this really works. Although the room walls and windows are sound proofed, I had disturbed sleep around 5.30am , due to staff setting breakfast up in the restaurant. The bedroom door opens on to a balcony which over looks the reception area and restaurant below .

When taking a shower, always cold because of how open the mayor of the space and room are designed. Cost per night, was too high.

I can not fault Coco-mat. The staff at reception, roof top bar and breakfast were top notch, always friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities were lovely, I wish I had more time to enjoy them. The room was what one would expect from a 5 star hotel. The location made it the perfect base for exploring Athens. Thank you for making my daughters first visit to Athens special - with a room upgrade to an Acopolis view room.

it’s known for their mattresses but for both of us it was the most uncomfortable bedtime of our lives. first of all the bad very short. I’m 170cm and my bf 190, so even my feet was out of the bed. the bed has a mattress and the upper mattress and the feeling is like you are sleeping in hamaca. after first night I woke up full of sleeping wrinkles on my chest so did my bf. very bad experience. the next nights we took out all the pillows and the upper mattress, such a mess in 10m2 room

If you think of Greece you are probably thinking of the Sea, islands, etc, but this city offers so much more! Do not go under 5 days (and that is not enough to explore and feel the joy that the city brings, but it's possible to explore it). First of all, dare to explore the city on foot and DO use the metro. Tickets are very cheap from the airport and daily/3-5day tickets. Also, buy tickets for the museums in advance and the packages they offer. I stayed in November so it wasn't crowded but if you go in summer you'll probably have to wait in line. This hotel (Coco-Mat Athens BC) is just perfect. Near the metro station and just next to the most beautiful place - Acropolis. The rooms are super cute, beds are THE MOST AMAZING thing I have ever slept on. Also, the staff is so nice and kind. We had the opportunity to book the room with the view of Acropolis so it was majestic. Here are some of my suggestions of "must-see": 1. Acropolis (+ national archeological museum) 2. Plaka 3. Mount Lycabettus (prepare for the hike, after you reach the top you won't regret the view) 4. Roman Agora 5. Ancient Agora 6. Gate of Athena Archegetis 7. National park (Botanical Museum of the National Garden; Zappeion Garden) 8. Benaki museum 9. Temple of Olympian Zeus 10. Hellenic parliament 11. National library 12. National observatory Athens DO use the "Hop on hop off" bus. It's very cheap if you don't hop off the ride takes 1,5h and has 15 stations at which the bus comes every 30'. Some cute cafes and restaurants: 1. In Adrianou Street are traditional restaurants with a view of Acropolis (example Theta) 2. DaVinci Gelato 3. Savvas - Pita Gyros 4. On top of the Benaki Museum is a cute cafe 5. Patisserie Artemis 6. Kayak pure magic

There is nothing you may not like in this city!

The location was great, the pool and rooftop bar were also really nice wirh the view. Comfy bed

The breakfast wasn’t great, not a lot of variety and everything we had was cold Cleaning of the room needed more attention, we didn’t receive conditioner or toilet paper refills

The location is excellent, really central with epic views of the Acropolis at night. The spa is lovely and included in the stay - definitely use this it is super lux

The breakfast was only ok, large selection but not as high quality as I had thought. The hotel is nicely designed but a little bit corporate

Breakfast was excellent. Large variety of fresh food, including a small menu to order your eggs the way you want them. Really enjoyed my massage and the spa facility!

Service at the pool was slow and scant. You had to go and look for people to help/order.

Beautiful hotel all organic. The lobby was pleasant with under the sea wooden turtles and birds above. We got w goodie bag with drinks, OJ, water, beers, etc. A nice touch
