The location is perfect just under the Parthenon, next to the acropolis museum, a few minutes walk from Plaka and in the vibrant neighborhood of Koukaki full of restaurants and bars. The room was large and clean. Very quiet. What really made me appreciate this hotel is the kindness of the staff. They really went above and beyond to make my stay very pleasant. There was a general strike on my departure day and they provided a private taxi to reach the airport. They also allowed me a late checkout at 3 PM free of charge. When the driver couldn’t reach the hotel to pick me up because of a demonstration, the gentleman at the reception (possibly the manager) personally walked me to the meeting point 5 minutes away and carried my luggage so as to make sure that I met the driver safely. All the staff at the reception (even at night time) and at the breakfast lounge were really kind and helpful.

We have stayed at this hotel before and it again lived up to our expectations. Its location truly is in the heart of the historic centre and only a few blocks from the Acropolis Museum. We simply can’t say enough about the excellent front desk staff. We, unfortunately, experienced an unpleasant situation with a pick pocket and were left with no credit cards or bank cards. The staff were extremely sympathetic and could absolutely not have been any more helpful with the arrangements we had to make. We send much thanks to them! We are determined not to let this street experience stop us from travelling and we expect to be back again next April and will be staying at Hera Hotel for sure!

I took my daughter to see the sights in Athens on the 27th January know the end of the month post Christas, weather and toursists would be at there lowest. Outstanding location, loads of bars and restaurants with 60m opposite the museum. Great value, uber central for the Acropolis (120m), the Museum, the flea market is 15 minutes walk and a lovely little village is on the way. We got lucky with the sun, no crowds and taxi to from the airport at 2am and 5.40am (out and back) was only euro 60. I didnt expect much bit it was outstanding- the hotel ,the location, the proximity to all the key places, the staff, and we paid 90 euros per room without a view. just fab.

I loved it

We had a room that sleeps two. It was two single beds pushed together. It was perfect for us. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The room was clean with lots of storage. We did not get the breakfast in our rate and went out each morning to grab a cappuccino and quick bite to eat. The hotel is in a perfect location, right near the Plaka, restaurants, stores and the Acropolis museum. It was fantastic because we could walk everywhere.

The showers are very high to climb in and out. If you have any type of disability with mobility, this will be difficult.

The fact that we have stayed several times at the Hera should be all that is needed to say we have been satisfied with the hotel. But I will add that my wife refers to me as a “negative” person, because I can find some fault with almost everything. So is the Hera perfect? Of course not, nothing is. However, it is a nice hotel with decent rooms, location, staff & food. One might use the term quaint. But it is also more. Based on the quality of the hotel and rooms it is very well priced (I am also known for being a bit thrifty and take being called cheap as a compliment). It has an excellent location for tourists, especially for a first visit to Athens and more so if your time is limited. The breakfast buffet is not the best you will ever have, but it is fine. Their roof top bar and restaurant with a view of the Acropolis is a wonderful experience. It is possible to find less expensive accommodations. It is also possible to find fancier. In our case we first found it when we could afford little. On our last visit, even though we can now afford expensive 5 star hotels if we choose, we chose the Hera because it delivers everything we need at a reasonable price.

Location is superb for exploring the Acropolis and ancient part of the city. Close to lots of nice cafés, restaurants and shops. Very close to the metro station - 2 minute walk. The breakfast was excellent, plenty of variety and all quality produce, especially enjoyed the traditional Greek breakfast.

The room was a little small, but for a city hotel, this is what I would expect, so I don't fault this.

We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay . From our arrival up to our departure every aspect was exceptional. The staff, the amenities, location all were fabulous.

I don’t know if the hotel was connected to the van that picked us up from the airport but he was late, rushed and we generally felt like we were-an inconvenience The driver who took us back to the airport however was lovely

Breakfast was fantastic and awesome times for tourists. Restaurant food spectacular Location could not have been better for a quick Athens visit.

Decaffeinated coffee at breakfast would have been nice as well as traditional Greek coffees. Our room did not have great scenery but the Reid top with it’s night view of the Acropolis was stunning. Noisy room from city street life but then again we are not accustomed to living and sleeping in a city. It did not keep us a wake or wake us so all good!

Location is excellent as its walking distance from the Acropolis and archeological sites, 2 min from Acropolis station and many bars and restaurants in Plakas. Friendly staff, very comfortable bed.

A bit old, the building needs some renovations, also it wasn’t completely clean, found some dust in certain areas of the room.
