Omiros Hotel

The location is perfect to go around on foot. We were also unexpectedly lucky and landed a room with a balcony (which we didn't explicitly request) so we could relax in the evenings with a view of the Acropolis. The air conditioning was fantastic, as well as the fridge with drinks next to the reception. The staff were super nice and helpful. The breakfast was humble but nevertheless satisfying.

It's quite an old building so there was a distinct lack of electrical sockets in the room. We had to kind of plan which electronics we wanted to charge and when so be prepared for that.

The price is comparatively low. The location is excellent. Closed to city of center (Syntagma). Easy access to all attractions by Metro or bus. The main shopping area (Ermou) and flea market is closed by and in walking distance. Many restaurants and supermarket around the corner. There are many expensive hotels around this area as well. Breakfast is good but no hot food. Many different varieties of hot coffee provided. Our room is pretty big with balcony. We did wind dry our laundry in 1 day. I love the bathtub with seat and high showering water pressure makes you release tiredness. The staff very helpful to respond customer request.

The hotel is not fancy and looked old without renovation. In consideration of the price, this is an excellent hotel to stay.

Although this hotel is quite a basic one, I am giving it an excellent rating mainly due to the fact that it is in the perfect area for wandering thru Athens enjoying the sights, sounds, stores, Acropolis and ruins, and restaurants. It is also very reasonable which is a plus. We were there for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay. Hotels in this area get booked up very quickly and this hotel was no exception. Small fridge in the room came in handy for putting some fruit, drinks etc to enjoy. Breakfast was basic but had everything we needed to kick start our morning. We stayed at this hotel at the end of our few weeks in Greece and found it so easy to walk there from the subway. Upon leaving Athens, we walked up to take the subway to the airport which was truly a plus as taxi costs have increased in the few days after the one days strike. Athens is very reasonable and fast.

I think it would be great for the hotel to install coffee-tea makers in the room. Our room only had one electrical plug in the room so in order to have a coffee-tea station, more electrical plugs would need to be installed.

The hotel is well located, a few blocks from Syntagma Square. The staff was polite, but not particularly well informed on tourist needs, such as finding a laundromat. I finally found one 3 minutes walk from the hotel, and it is open 24/7. This seems like useful information to be able to share with guests. If you are not handy with GPS or able to find your way on your own, this may not be the hotel for you. It was a great choice for me. You can't beat the price and location.

the included breakfast was generous and tasty, but the coffee (from a machine) was horrible. A small complaint, really, considering all the pros of this hotel.

Breakfast was minimal. Location was great as it was close to the Plaka area which was easy to get to. We had requested a room with two beds but received one with one double. We were moved for the last two nights to the terrace which had two beds, a bigger room and an amazing view from the terrace!

Didn't like that when we moved rooms the strap on our handle to weigh our luggage went missing. the gentleman in the morning gave us a piece of rope to make due but that strap had to have been physically removed as it just doesn't fall off the handle. Unfortunately I didn't notice it until we went to leave and to weigh our luggage. Shower was tiny. Room was adequate and what we expected for an older building.

Great location if you're coming from the airport or need to go to the airport. The first/last stop of the airport express bus is just a few minutes from Syntagma Square. Friendly, English-speaking staff at the reception desk. Large room. (I booked a single room but was offered a larger room.) Rooms are quite old, but everything was clean. Basic breakfast included in the rate, as in many places in Athens. Stable WiFi.

Nothing particularly bad. The room looked a bit dated, esp. the bathtub and the air-conditioning unit. I stayed at the hotel in early September and the temperature was OK, but it can probably get really hot in August. Breakfast included in the rate, but a bit too basic.

The location is exceptional right at the best place between syntagma and the beautiful palaka. Restaurants cafes and bars are right downstairs. This area is very up scale and offers planty of very modern designed and expensive flats for vacation and hotel rooms BUT a friendly helpful and kind staff members as at the OMIROS you will not find anywhere else!! A good three star hotel is right what you would expect meaning everything is sufficient and just enough. Room is comfortable and has a front facing balcony which was a big plus for us. Breakfast is sufficient and just what you need to start off a day with boiled eggs, fresh pastry's, cheese, ham , a nice coffee. And yet the OMIROS is doing way more in excellent service that is above and beyond . 24 hrs reception with good professional people always makes you feel at home. We Will sure come back!

Location is amazing, all sites were 8-17 mins walk. Rooms were very clean and cleaners were coming every day to ask if we need room service, towels etc. The hotel has a beautiful rooftop terrace where you can enjoy the view of Acropolis and Athens. Majority of comments say that rooms are outdated but we found them okay, furniture might be old but nothing was broken, shower had a good pressure and beds were really comfortable.

Breakfast was outrageous. I have booked this place because of breakfast included (we were tra ling a group and I find it easier and quicker to have breakfast at a hotel before heading our for a sighthseeing) but oh dear. I usually don’t complain about food at all but half of the things were uneatable. It’s ok to have tea or coffee (as no kettles in the room), no more. This is Greece, why not to serve greek salad, some local pastries and fresh bread? As all city centre, location can get very noisy during night, so I would suggest ear plugs if you have sleeping issues.

Omiros initially appeared very average. We were a family of four and squashed into a room with 4 beds .(Four adults in a small room is always going to be tight and even though there were some complaints from the younger "adults" it suited our budget and needs) Breakfast was good and set us up well for an early start with a busy schedule seeing the sites of Athens over our 3 nights stay. The location was also excellent. We arrived after midnight and it was really helpful having a 24 hour person at the front desk.

The breakfast was great between 7 and 10 but it would have been good to have the availability of tea and coffee making facilities outside this time.

Basic, clean accommodation in a fantastic location. The simple breakfast which was included was greatly appreciated. The air conditioning worked well (essential for summer!) and although located just near Plaka, it was quiet. The taxi was able to drop us off right out front without issue. The staff were approachable and helpful.

The shower is very different to what we are used in in Australia. However, it is to be expected in this style of accommodation at the price.
