Poseidon Athens Hotel

Breakfast was sensational. The room was perfect. The staff were all very polite and accommodating. I would definitely stay here again.

It wasn't so much that I didn't like it as it's not what I am used to. When eating in the restaurants the servers took a very long time to bring a menu and take an order, rarely check on your table and would take forever to bring the check. I even had to get up and go find who I was supposed to pay. Again, I am from the USA and it's just very different there. This might be the Greek way and I'm fine with that. It all worked out. The food was amazing and I am happy with it overall.

Location was perfect for beach and sightseeing: beach - across the street, trams and buses to/from Athens city center - too. We also used taxes "Free Now" - very punctual, fast and cheaper than others. Room - clean, comfortable beds, well furnished, with a balcony. About AC I don't know - we didn't need it. Bathroom - clean and with properly fuctioning facilities. Two elevators. Breakfast was the same every day, but choices were enough including fruits and vegetables.

The complementary coffee was not good - strange for Greece. Very noisy highway in front of the hotel, but the balcony door was very well isolated.

The location is very good and the staff are perfect at the lobby and helpful, as Manolis and Christimos at the 360 restaurant and bar are so friendly and nice, also Saed at the Lobby is so kind and good person.

The location on the seaside was nice with tram connection to Piraeus and Athens. All the common areas such as pool and the roof terrace were really nice. Staff was always smiling, polite, helpful and made us feel very welcome. Room was clean, it had all the essentials and the bed was comfortable. Balcony on the city side of the building was humble but quiet and nice addition. Breakfast was very diverse.

In the bathroom the water leaked a bit through the shower door and also from the sink, so that was a bit annoying. The weather was really hot during our stay and sleeping without AC was not possible, so it was a bit of an issue that the AC blew directly to the bed. Food in the hotel restaurants was not especially good.

Perfect location if planning to visit Athens!!!Tram/hop on-hop off stop right in front of the hotel,supermarket right next to it,decent beach across the(admittedly very noisy and busy)road,although the balcony door was doing a great job being soundproofy so no complains there. The food was perfect!Honestly,every time we go to Greece somewhere,i don't even stress myself checking reviews regarding the food.I just know is gonna be great! All the negative reviews about everything really regarding Poseidon Hotel must've happened during the Covid hysteria,when things were probably more..complicated. All the staff was very welcoming and helpful,always with a smile when greeting guests. 2x sunbeds and 1x umbrella 15 euros for hotel guests(20 on weekends for the front row) -if i had to nitpick about something,this would be it-maybe free use of the sunbeds for the hotel guests.(altough for regular customers the price is double) All in all it was a great experience-highly recommend this hotel!

Nothing really,for us everything was great!

It's been 8 years since I was last in Athens and I was well aware that you need to deduct one star from hotel's star rating to get the realistic picture. With Poseidon it was not the case. At 3 stars, breakfast was very good, maybe staff was a bit slow with refilling of drinks. Room was spacious, lean and big bathroom, comfy bed and functional Wi-Fi. Extra Hurrah to the staff at rooftop bar :-) Honorable mention, across a very busy road there is a nice beach with a couple of restaurants.

As mentioned, my stay exceeded expectations for a 3 star hotel in Athens. Nothing was wrong at all.

The hotel is located on a busy road but excellent for the beach, the double glazing stops the noise and the views make up for any noise. The rooms are lovely and clean, comfy bed. The breakfasts are excellent, with a lot of choice, and the staff are excellent, especially both Kristinas, on reception and housekeeping. I would recommend this hotel for either the beach or easy access into the city. Its easy to get to from the airport, X96, 5.50 euros

Nothing that would spoil our holiday but the decking around the pool needs attention before there is an accident

Great breakfast :-) Room was clean and smart - we unfortunately had no view but didn't matter as we were always out and about! Beach was so close, and beautiful, a welcome break from being in the city for the day! The restaurant on the beach also served great food. The sky bar has an amazing view and definitely worth a drink at in the evening!

Only comment would be that the sign at the very top of the hotel at the front (seen from the beach / sea / road) needs a refurb! People may be put off if they were to see it and not know more about the hotel as its really not a reflection of everything else at the hotel!!

Everything! We can’t believe this isn’t rated higher. It has everything, all public transport stops right out side, supermarket next door, it is on a busy road but the soundproofing was fantastic, the staff were amazing and friendly and made us feel like family as they aim to do. Really can’t recommend this place enough, the rooftop bar and pool were just amazing to chill in the afternoon. I’m usually really bad at leaving reviews but I’ve just come home and had to. It’s not central Athens but the tram stops outside as well as the airport bus and it’s oppose the beach too with a lovely seafood restaurant.

We stayed here as it was a better deal than in the city tourist areas. Great local trains and busses right out front so we had an easy cheap commute everywhere. Everyone was friendly and pleasant but the one the that stood out was, the women in the breakfast room were the nicest and most helpful people I think we have ever met! They really made the mornings pleasant and the breakfast I rated a 10+. Truly excellent! The location was a little limited. Some great bars/restaurants across the street on the beach though that worked for us. Most of the time we traveled into Athens via the Metro.

I don't recall anything bad about this hotel! It was great all around.
