Ilissos

The hotel has a very good location, walking distance to public transport options as well some of the key attractions in the city. The personnel were kind and helpful. The hotel building is old, so are the rooms. But the cleaning is fine and the critical items such as the elevator and the air condition works properly. We get a corner room in a higher floor, with a beautiful view of the city and Acropolis at night. We also like the breakfast, it is worth the price.

The building is old and some of the furniture in the room may be renovated. The breakfast room was small, it may be a problem when a crowded group enters in at the same time. The air condition of the building makes some noise at night.

Very much worth the money. Everything was very good except the full/floor covering carpets in the room and the hard pillows. The breakfast was very good with a lot to choose from. The staff was SUPER, always helpful and polite. Easy access from Syntagma with a taxi for about 8€. The hotel is situated just a few blocks down in Syngrou ave and right in to Kallirois 72. It’s possible to walk from Syntagma in 20-30 min depending on how fast you are. The area is nice and friendly with cafes and restaurants nearby. I absolutely recommend the area and the hotel. Don’t stay around Omonia, this part of Athens is much more safe and pleasant to stroll around in. Rooftop bar was excellent with the view of Acropolis, the staff and the food. Very affordable meal with chicken and potatoes for 11-12€. If you chose the restaurant it’s 22€ for a meal, à la carte or buffet.

Floors (with those full covering carpets) Pillows (too hard) These are just small details and for the price, I can stand it.

The locating is amazing. Close to the metro, or centre by foot, yet still far enough from busy touristy places, with cheap places for food or drinks nearby. Everything was nice and clean, and I enjoyed staying in the room. The view and rooftop bar are a cherry on top!

Sometimes, usually in the early morning, slamming doors of nearby rooms would wake me up. While the soundproofing was great in a way that I couldn't hear any traffic from the outside, talking in the hallway was noticeably loud. Pillows were too thick for my personal taste, but that's really not an issue, just personal taste.

Rooms super comfy with amazing bed and noiseproof windows. Good breakfast with a large choice. Very clean. Great rooftop with a view over the acropole. Can do everything by walk. Great restaurants around.

It is a bit of a shame that we can't enjoy the rooftop without ordering drinks from the bar even if it's just to smoke a cigarette. Lady at the front desk told us to take a 20€ taxi to get to the ferry on time because it's supposedly very busy to get there... we got there more than an hour in advance after a 10min drive. Better safe than sorry I guess but a very expensive taxi for the short distance...

I love friendly stuff, they were very kind and useful. Location is 10 mins by taxi to Sintagma, to Plaka & Acropolis. The area has nice restaurants that are not so touristic. Roof top terraces has an amazing view to acropolis and Partenon (go during the day of during sunset). There is a bar and you can enjoy drinks and view.

Breakfast is simple, it can provide more variety especially when you stay for more days, you want different stuff. If you want fredo/frape/greek coffee this is charged extra, this does not cost lot for hotel, so my advice is include this during the breakfast it is nice way to present the Greece to foreigners.

Unfortunately Illisos is not a central hotel, hence I wouldn’t recommend it to a girl travelling solo. Because if you want to experience the night in the centre, it would be safer to get a central hotel, the walk back to Illissos doesn’t feel the safest. The view is also not the nicest from the bedroom if you care about that, is either to the back which is a quiet street, not the most beautiful, or the the main avenue, full of cars passing by.

Hotel was very nice. Neat and cozy, room size was very good. Shops n resturants were not too far. Was a nice place and safe area

Location is good (near the city center, 20 min walk to the acropolis) Room was large, clean and comfortable, breakfast very good. View from the rooftop bar is beautiful and hotel staff is friendly and helpful.

In the first day, it rained heavily and we had water dropping from the ceiling in the room; we ve got ano ther room at a lower floor. Fan of the toilet was out of service. The scale in the reception (as we needed to weight our suitcase to make sure it complied with the flight regulation) costs 1 eur, it s not free of charge.

I loved the hotel. The location was perfect, there are multiple bus stops within walking distance, restaurants within walking distance, the metro train station within walking distance and the major sites within walking distance. The staff were friendly, accommodating and the cleaning staff were super quick and efficient. The breakfast was good too! The room is large and spacious and clean and comfortable, and the balcony was awesome. The bed was big and comfortable and the bathroom was big and had alot of goodies in it and was clean.

I didn’t have a good experience the night i checked in as the reception was so arrogant and charges me foe an extra amount by mistake! However the next day another receptionist called me and solved the problem. She was very kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant was exceptional and the staff at the bar were amazing! The location was close to the Acropolis and other amazing historical places.

The guy at the reception treated my badly after a long flight I had and I arrived at midnight! The wifi was terrible and continuously disconnected
