El Greco Hotel

It was ok to stay for a short period of time (1 day).

Breakfast was so so. 1 egg, 1 bun, some butter, a couple of cookies, 1 apple and pretty much it. I suggest getting breakfast somewhere else. Another thing. You need to sign a form that the hotel is not responsible for the valuables left in your room. The funny thing is that you need to leave your room key at the reception desk when you leave your hotel.

A centrally located hotel just near the Morosini Fountain, perfect for a long weekend in Heraklion. Rooms are cleaned daily. The bus station is in 5 Min. walking distance, many supermarkets and restaurants nearby. For seafood lovers I can recommend Vranas, restaurant located in a quiet small street with great menue and nice prices. Grilled octopus, sepia cooked in own ink with red wine and fresh fried anchovies are must try there!

Can be a bit noisy in the night because of the central location. The beds were quite hard. The Wi-Fi connection was very weak and unstable, constantly interrupting.

The room was very clean and housekeeping refreshed the room beautifully each day. The staff at reception were helpful and professional. It was right in the centre of town and I loved my balcony and the whole room. I felt like it was really good value, very professionally run and more like a 3 star hotel. I had pretty much everything I needed - nice size desk, good wardrobe with shelves and a fridge. It felt safe and secure.

The Wi-Fi was very slow and I ended up hot spotting to my phone. It would have been nice to have an electric jug but not sure if that can be expected for the price. The black out curtains were good but there was no see through curtain for privacy so if I wanted to get changed I felt like I had to close the black out blinds and turn on the lights unless the windows were tinted and I did not realise.

I liked almost everything but the location is fantastic. Nice and friendly staff, good breakfast, good value for money and very clean place.

I did not like the group of drunk Scandinavian girls who made an awful lot of noise during the first two nights of my stay. I travel a lot, I am partially deaf and I always bring earplugs. Normally noise does not bother me, but these women produced even more decibels than those two football teams of adolescents I once had the misfortune to share a hotel in Spain with. At least those kids were 12 or 13 years old. The Scandinavians were grown-ups and they were yelling, singing, banging on doors, playing loud music, and laughing loudly at 2 am...

This hotel is right in the heart of Heraklion. All around you can find shops, cafés and restaurants. Very pleasant place. It's a basic hotel but extremely good value for money. Clean towels and sheets and room cleaned every single day. Staff pleasant. Would definitely choose it again. Also a safe with a number combination to use.

We tried the breakfast once which was 5 euro. It was a kind of all you can eat but the food was pre packaged. They did have boiled eggs, cereal, Greek yoghurt to choose. But the coffee not so great. We decided to have breakfast out. There are so many places to choose from and a variety of prices. The rooms and bathrooms in particular are on the small side but it wasn't a big problem for us.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the El Greco Hotel in Heraklion, and I can confidently say that it was a delightful experience from start to finish. Conveniently located in the heart of the city, the hotel offered both comfort and accessibility during our trip. However, what truly set this accommodation apart was the exceptional service provided by the staff, particularly Mr. Kyriakos, who went above and beyond to make our stay truly memorable. One particular incident during our visit truly highlighted the exceptional nature of the El Greco Hotel staff. Unfortunately, my son fell ill with the stomach flu during our stay. As worried parents, we approached Mr. Kyriakos for assistance, and he displayed genuine concern and empathy. He even went the extra mile by accommodating our request for a late check-out so that my son could rest adequately before our departure. In conclusion, our stay at the El Greco Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The convenient location, coupled with the attentive and caring staff, made our experience truly memorable. Mr. Kyriakos's dedication and assistance during my son's illness were particularly touching and showcased the hotel's commitment to guest well-being. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend the El Greco Hotel to anyone visiting Heraklion, and I look forward to returning on my next trip to this beautiful city.

The bathroom was a bit tight.

The location of the hotel is perfect, many cafes around the corner, market, bus stop. Considering this, the room was very quiet and we did not hear any noise from the outside. The curtains were thick and the room was dark and perfect to sleep out in the mornings. The airco was also conveniently placed in the corner of the room, not above the bed like in some other hotels.

The bathroom/ shower cabin was very small. Also, we arranged a rental car to be brought to the hotel, however there was no parking space or possibility to get there so we had to agree about another place.

Excellent location. Good value. Great coffee and pastries from Zaka next door.

The bathroom was very small but workable if you're careful with the direction of water from the shower head. The toilet seat almost touched the wall so I tended to sit on the toilet from the side, rather than with your back to the cistern. The bathroom window opened to an internal cavity for ventilation but so did the window of the adjoining room, so noise carried easily.

As seen in the rates before booking my room, there are some imperfections (such as the shower screen not preventing to put water everywhere), but let's be honest : given the location and considering the price, the prestation is excellent. Bathroom seemed very recent, almost new, the air conditioning works very well, everything is clean... the job is done and that's what we're asking for. What else ? Would definitely consider booking again if I have to pass by Heraklion in the future.

Room doors have a cylinder and then close automatically. Unscrupulous clients that do not hold them back then generate smashing doors at any time during the night, whether they come back late or leave early.

I stayed in about 100 hotels on this last trip and El Greko was one of the best. The price was terrific considering they are right bang in the middle of the walking street. How can you ask for a better location? Best in the city. The staff and front desk were very friendly, the breakfast was included and decent. The actual room was excellent when compared to the price I was charged - Crete in the middle of summer. I have a balcony overlooking the walking street. I would sit there and watch people passing by. Perfect.

Hard to find parking but that's a problem that Heraklion has anyway
