Very classy hotel with first class facilities and staff that would do anything to make your stay perfect. Christo was extremely helpful. Comfortable room and bed, great pool and the breakfast was sensational.

The room was very clean and the reception staff extremely helpful. All the staff that I spoke to were at least bi-lingual (English). I noted some spoke other languages as well. There are eating places nearby, but the hotel has fine dinning as well. Breakfast was buffet style with a great variety to choose from, but also had ample staff to accommodate the guests. Staff very obliging but still very professional in their work.

The fact that I could not extend my stay because they had no vacancies. That’s the price you pay when you are good in what you are doing.

Stylish public areas and rooms. Beautifully clean everywhere. Breakfast was of good quality and plentiful with friendly staff. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable with good quality linen and the bathroom was superb with a large shower and good quality towels and complimentary bathrobes and slippers. 15 minutes or so walk to the centre of town and the seafront.

There was limited storage for clothes so if you are staying for more than a few nights you need to live out of your suitcase. Rooms are advertised with a balcony but this is actually more of a ledge and not large enough to put chairs on to sit out. There was quite a lot of noise from the corridor and other rooms. The gym and swimming pool areas were closed, the reason given was covid but feel that this is perhaps a bit unreasonable given that all restrictions have been lifted?

The staff were superb - friendly, efficient, attentive; The breakfast buffet had great variety and the restaurant and bar had excellent ambience; The pool was perfect - long enough for a proper swim. The location is perfect for easy access to Knossos by taxi.

While the location was very close to the centre of Heraklion, walking there was made hazardous by the random heights of the footpaths, and the sudden holes. This is nothing to do with the hotel, but possibly a difficulty for some prospective guests (unless you get taxis everywhere you go).

The staff was very nice, the location of the hotel is great about 10 minites walk to the center where are restaurants and shops, also breakfast was very nice. The pool area is also super but it is very small for that amount od people

We have a situation, when we arrived the first room that they gave us was with mold stains on the wall and it smelled so bad in the room, I think it must not let that happend in hotel with 5 stars and also in my opinion this hotel does not deserve 5 stars, 4 would be okay :) overall we have a great time there

When I was last in Greece (40 years ago!) I stayed at the Galaxy when it was a new hotel. I remembered that it was not only lovely, but the staff was more than helpful. When I planned this trip, I was delighted to learn that the hotel was still there. The hotel has been expanded and renovated several times since I first stayed there, but the staff is equally considerate and helpful as it was then. It is run by the Economou family, not a big conglomerate, and their personal input into the daily operation of the hotel shows.

Could not have found a better place to use as a base for touring Crete. Easy to access from the main east-west highway on the island. Staff were exceptionally helpful in recommending restaurants. Breakfast was excellent. Room was quiet and comfortable. Located a 20-minute walk (10-minute drive) from the centre of Hiraklion.

Off-site parking, although without charge, was sometimes problematic because the space was small and often full, requiring on-street parking. However, the latter was not a major problem.

Big room, very modern. I believe we stayed in a business or deluxe room (?) Comfortable bed, and large bathroom. Shower curtain and glass panel so the bathroom didn't flood (so much better than so many other hotels that don't believe in shower curtains..) Lots of space in the bathroom to set all your stuff and dry towels. Also, bathroom had a real door and not the annoying glass doors I've seen in other Greek hotels. View of the pool was quiet and nice. Overall, a really excellent stay. Glad we picked it.

Some noisy high school groups running around on a group tour, but the hotel did a good job of keeping them on one floor and not mixed between other guests. Also a weird water noise in the walls. Parking lot in the back was small and confusing. Easier to find street parking.

While this hotel is not as fancy as a lot of other 5 star hotels, it is for sure a great deal for what you are paying. The beds are very nice with soft clean sheets and the area it is in is fun to walk around in with a huge market around the corner and many places to eat. The airport is 10min and so is the center and you can easily park behind the house. The restaurant for sure is creative and worth a visit.

The standard room we had was very small, which is not the end of the world. The bathroom is overdue for some renovation and overall it is more businessy then stlylish. The breakfast buffet is also not like it looks on the photos, but it is still very good.
