Wonderful, very accommodating hosts. Good breakfast. This is a beautiful location nestled in a small valley. The river blackwater is just below the property and includes a walking trail. Great views, very peaceful. It has a shared bathroom so plan accordingly. It is also close to Fermoy, a small town with pubs and restaurants. We chose a variety of accommodations on our trip. We chose this one because it was in a quiet country setting, but close to a town. Stayed two days. Fermoy can be a bit busy as there are several schools there, so plan accordingly when visiting. Plenty to explore in the region.

Everything about this B&B was fantastic! The house is quaint and comfortable. The property is beautiful and offers stunning views as well as the opportunity to go for a walk to the river for a wonderful sunset view. We were lucky enough to get a corner room with two huge windows to enjoy the scenery and hear the horses and cows! Breakfast was delicious as well. To top it all off, Jason & Valerie were extremely warm and inviting. We would definitely stay here again! Thank you! P.S. We would also recommend Cafe Bella in Fermoy for dinner! Delicious Italian food!

It would be nice to have a private bathroom, but of course understandable that the house isn’t set up for that

Cable Island was in such a beautiful location. It was the one place we took time to spend at the facility and enjoy the views. There were plenty of places to sit outside and relax. Valerie, the hostess, went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and answer any questions we had. The rooms were very nice and clean. Breakfast was included and delicious.

It isn't something that the facility didn't provide but because we did not read the description carefully, we didn't realize that there were shared bathrooms. I was fine because no one was staying in the room next to us, so we didn't have to share, but the other people we were traveling with had to share a bathroom with two gentlemen. They were a little apprehensive at first but it ended out fine because the gentlemen were so respectful of the situation.

This was such a pleasant and dreamy stay at Cable Island B&B. Our host Val was so friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. This stay felt cozy like you are staying at a family members home. The absolute best part was the private walk down to the river. We were able to enjoy the sunset and a beautiful morning stroll along the river all to ourselves. The drive to this spot was beautiful, just keep in mind its about a 8-10 min drive to town and the restaurants in the area tend to close earlier than we are used to (7-8pm). Val did give us a great recommendation for food though and we were able to bring it back and enjoy it in the shared dining room area. I would stay here again!

I don't think I could have picked a more idyllic location than the valley Cable Island is settled in. Wow. I mean, truly, we were speechless when we entered the garden view room. We took it easy on our last leg of the trip, and even just laying in bed looking out the windows was well worth our time. Valerie was such a lovely host, extremely personable and soo friendly. Not to mention so accommodating to our weird little schedule we set for ourselves. Breakfast was fantastic and filling, so many options! I would return in a heartbeat unless they want to sell me the property instead ;)

Val was a lovely host. She happily accommodated our check in time of 9:30pm with no issues. Val’s home has an incredible view of the surrounding fields which you could also see from out bedroom window! stunning! at night there is no light pollution which gives you a great clear view of the stars. multiple breakfast options. Val also was very friendly and gave us some ideas of where to travel the next day

The host was such a sweetheart. She talked with us and gave us great recommendations on things to do. The additional little walk down to the water they added on the property was very calming after a long drive.

We would have liked our own bathroom, but that's the only downside. We had great folks to share with that were accommodating so it was only a slight inconvenience but nothing that would make us upset in any regard.

The place is awesome. A river to fish, quiet, guest room fitted to anyone’s needs. 4g data works without a problem and the wi-fi fills in the gap.

Access to the river is not for mobile impaired people. The steep is too harsh and there’s no steps or handrail to use. The property is remote so there’s no ammenities readily accessible but there is plenty of tea, coffee and booze available.

My daughter had asked that we stay in the country for one of our nights in Ireland. I found Cable Island B&B online and the pictures looked stunning. Those couldn't do justice to just what a beautiful location this really is. Nestled in a river valley with 360 degrees of pastoral views, Cable Island B&B will introduce you to the best of rural Ireland. Val is your hostess and she has created a lovely, comfortable environment for you to enjoy. Our room was nicely appointed and cozy with spectacular views of the landscape. The breakfast was sumptuous and filling. We hated to leave.

There is a shared bathroom, which is not uncommon in B&Bs. Just be prepared.

Such a great place! Waking up to see the pastoral landscape dotted with sheep and horses having their breakfast was the most peaceful bit of our entire trip to Ireland. Valerie was so accommodating even though we arrived very late due a flat tire. Great breakfast and lovely visit with the resident goats! Sweet Jamey is too big for his house but insists on cramming himself inside.
