Eco Urban B&B0

So conveniently close to the main SMN train station, yet a peaceful haven away from the suitcase-madness of Via Nazionale at the end of the street. A small hotel - quiet and restful - seemingly far from the tourist mayhem of Florence. Gabriella and Kathlyn on reception were superb: kind, and beyond the highest praise. To be greeted at what seemed like a family breakfast with home-made cake was an exceptional start to the day. So helpful, too, was the housekeeper Silvana. I'm a "morning person", but her beds were so comfortable and expertly made that on some days I had great difficulty stirring . . . I was reluctant to move on, knowing that I would seldom receive such great hospitality.

Nothing in the room itself, which was wonderful. However, noise from building work on the floor above disturbed me on an afternoon (and during the same evening!) that I was really unwell and had to stay in the hotel. It merited a complaint. Thankfully for future guests, all work should have been finished by the time this post is read and it won't be a problem. It should never have happened in the first place and was without doubt a senior management failing. I need to stress, though, that Gabriella was quite superb dealing with the problem. It was a small stain on an otherwise lovely stay.

Great stay overall, freshly renovated with a beautiful interior. The staff was also extremely friendly when checking in and checking out. Also, the location was quite nice as it takes less than 10mins by walk to the Duomo.

The check might be a little bit of a hassle, if you check in after 1:30pm, as the reception is only available until then. However, you can check in at another hotel 2mins away from there. So if you have large luggage’s with you, go directly there (eco has informed us about that before our arrival, so all good)

Lovely large and spacious room with comfy beds, working air conditioning, toiletries, ample towels, coffee machine, jug and teas, mini fridge (always nice when travelling to have this for snacks, extra drinks etc). Good breakfast each morning with a selection of cereals, fruits, fresh juices, yogurt, different milks, bread, plus local Tuscan fare of ham, salami, cheeses, roasted veggies and pastries (some breakfast selections are organic and gluten too). Very good as well. Great staff too - very helpful and informative with where to go, places to see, etc.. too.

As we went for accomodation close by the train station it probably wasn't the best area for the actual feel of Florence but it wasn't far to walk to find that either - only 5 mins walk. And I would have liked to be able to open the window but there was a bit of street noise at night so it was best left closed.

Great little breakfast buffet with freshly prepared coffee and egg variations by the host and served in a nice little patio. Our host was incredibly nice and inspired us with lots of great advice about Florence. There is a valet parking service, a supermarket and the market hall nearby, which is incredibly convenient. The sights are all in walking distance. We had some wine delivered to the BnB ahead of our stay and they were brilliant and already placed it in our room upon arrival.

Our room was great and had all you need for a city trip. It was rather on the small size though, but I think some of the other rooms are bigger.

the building itself is quite old and the main staircase is not clean and also smells bad. we were very disappointed when we reached and saw the building and the main entrance. but wow there was a big surprise when we entered our room as it was actually very nice inside. I think they just need to ensure more cleanliness and also do something about the bad smell at the entrance.

The location was great! Easy to get to the train station Florence SMN. The host was extremely friendly and helpful. We were in a Junior Suite Family room. 2 rooms joined together. One had a regular bed, and the other had a pull-out sofa. This worked well for our family of 4. This room had air conditioning which was very helpful as it was hot and humid at the beginning of July. The electricity only works when you have the key in the room, so you are not able to turn on the air conditioning until you are actually in the room. I understand why they do this and it is environmentally friendly. It didn't take too long to cool down. We did have a little miscommunication after we were first able to go to our room. We initially only had a key to get into one of the rooms (the one with the pull-out sofa). I didn't know how the 4 of us were going to sleep in that room. It took a little back and forth and someone coming over from their partner hotel before they realized they never gave us a key to the adjoining room. We were very happy once they realized and we got the key to the other part of our Junior Family Suite. I did not notice any outside noise with the windows closed. I am a light sleeper and had no issues here. I would definitely stay here again.

Gabriella and Kathleen were very warm, welcoming & helpful. Our room was ready early and they let us check in which was so helpful after a 3 hour drive. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The beds had perfect amount of firmness.The air conditioning was very good which was refreshing since it was 78F/25C. We rented a car and they work with a garage to stow your auto nearby. Also, I emailed Eco Urbane a few times prior to our arrival and they always gave a quick response.

We woke up early 6:30-7:00 and the breakfast wasn't open. It was no problem as there is a cute cafe right around the corner. I would have preferred to stay and have coffee at ECO B&B but it wasn't an issue.

At Eco you get the best of both worlds: a cozy B&B and additional amenities from their sister hotel around the corner. We had a package sent to the hotel and it was waiting for us in our room when we arrived, upon checking out, the B&B staff took our suitcase to the bigger hotel to wait for us (our train from Florence was leaving at 22:30 so we had the whole day in the city and the reception at the B&B closes early) Gabriella and Kaitlyn were great hosts, very nice and helpful (when we were trying to get tkts to Uffizi and they were sold out online, Gabriella spent half an hour on the phone with the tkt office trying to see if they had extra tkts for the same day for us). The breakfast was great, plenty of buffet choices, and they would also make eggs or pancakes on request. Everything was fresh and Gabriella even brought a home made coffee cake (regrettably, I forgot to ask for the recipe) The room (we were at #6) itself is beautiful, and large and the extra tall ceilings make you feel like you are waking up in a palace. The location cannot be beat, close to everything, but just off the main road enough that it is quiet Will definitely stay again

Great service from hotel staff, nice large room and close to Firenze Santa Maria Novella station. Very close to major attractions, walked everywhere in Florence! Very secure hotel with swipe access to get into the building and hotel.

Would have been nice to be advised prior to arriving that there is construction above and around the area. We woke up to construction (hammering, drilling etc) starting at 8am and finishing around 6pm, which isn't ideal when travelling and sometimes you need an afternoon nap. An improvement would be to provide instructions on how to get into the hotel as the sign is not very big and the building is shared with other businesses.

We wanted a spacious, simple and clean accommodation with a sense of design rather than antique, but it was just like that. Both the bed and bathroom were very comfortable, and the room space was spacious and pleasant enough to be praised by all the family. It is accessible on foot not only from the cathedral or the center, but also from the Santa Maria train station (there were elderly people in their 70s on my family), and it is convenient to travel to Florence Airport. The staff were also very friendly.
